I was completely pissed off, and worried about damaging my new car (although it's a 2019, it's still in beautiful condition and 'new' to me). I was shaking w/ anger b/c of what I said about being the person supposedly at fault in most cases due to the "failure to assure and maintain a clear distance" thing. A cop did arrive but wasn't interested in making a report. Just checked things out a little and made sure we were exchanging insurance. Yes, the only english speaker in the car got out of the back seat, checked things out and as I was looking for my insurance stuff on my phone, came and asked for it. I told her that she would provide THEIR insurance before I provided mine. I didn't care if they wanted to call the cops on me for not immediately sharing it but I've seen too many scams like that.... plus, I was HEATED. This wasn't just some slow down to a stop kind of thing... it was a full on stop that I was so far from expecting that it threw me off guard and I'm just glad that 1) we weren't going that fast, 2) I wasn't riding her rear end and 3) that I had the sense to swerve b/c even after braking and laying on my horn, dumbass didn't even budge. Still remained in that same spot even as I pulled over to the side to asses damage. I think I'm just lucky there wasn't anyone else behind us (me) on the ramp at the time. The driver NEVER spoke to me. When I went to the driver side window, she put down the back seat window and no one was talking. I went back to my car and that's when a male hopped out and was looking at their car, then a female passenger got out and that was the one that actually spoke to me. The male just spoke foreign to her. So I never even got the name of the actual driver.

What a shit show. Should've kept the cop around. Guess it's been a long time since I've had to make a claim so I didn't think about it. I did get a pic of their insurance card and made sure it was up to date (current coverage) and that it was the same make/model, but didn't check the license plate, either. (It wasn't pouring but it was raining quite steadily.)

And yes, I wasn't going to bother but as I was finding my info on my phone, I didn't want to take off right away in case some stupid shit happened where they claimed I took off from the scene of an accident so I waited and that's when I saw them get out AFTER I had already tried to talk to them.
Kinda funny but like 100ft away from our cars as I was continuing off this ramp were another pair of cars w/ a patrol behind them (I think they were out just scouting the area, came across mine and since they usually end up in 2's, I'm kinda thinking the other people were doing a rubbernecking thing and did a similar incident. :P) I briefly chuckled while swearing at everything in sight

Yea, rubbernecking often leads to other accidents. Cop didn't do a report??? Weird, I guess he felt it wasn't needed. I wonder what your insurance's will make of it. Hopefully nothing too crazy. I wouldn't have known what to do beside exchange info myself or talk to a cop, in an accident. Everyone was probably frazzled for them too if they really weren't expecting what happened and they may have been trying to figure out what to do too.

I know back in like Feb (maybe more recently?) I did a fender bender bump with another car while pulling out of parking spaces at CFA...I was pulling out when THEY pulled out and basically backed into me, because of the angle i was at I couldn't move forward or backwards once they started moving w/o hitting them....I got out and looked at my car, the guy got out and looked at their car - I shrugged at him said, nothing to me, you? (there was a minor scrape on my car). His wife then got out and pointed out their bumper was moved, he looked at it again, banged it with his fist, which moved it back into place - looked at his wife... I shrugged again and said .. all good? They didn't answer, but got back in their car, and pulled back into the parking spot, so I got back in and drove off....but then wrote down ALLLLL the info I could remember once I got home juuuust in case they decided to call the police after I left and claim I "left the scene" - even tho it appeared to me that they were all good, as was I..... People are weird.

2019 is a pretty new car! Mine is a crappy 2000 rust heap :P lol

Heey.. my previous car (that with a little love could still very much run again) was a 2006 convertible Solara that I bought w/ 199k miles on it. I LOVE that car!! Comfy bucket seats, newly replaced drop top, perfectly running engine and trans.
2019 is the newest car I've ever had but it's actually harder to get a loan on an older car when you have bad credit.

No on the cop... maybe b/c of the rain and the sheer amount of accidents happening or b/c when he checked, he didn't see any real damage to make a report. Can't say I blame him b/c too many people call the cops for "scuffs" and it's on them to make a detailed report which takes them away from dealing w/ REAL issues.

My youngest had one of those parking lot incidences, which I don't get b/c I thought those areas were always supposed to be a no fault zone due to the numerous variables associated w/ people pulling in and out of spaces and how fast cars are zipping through the lanes, where she was pulling out and has a reverse camera, didn't see them and they obviously didn't stop and just moved forward at the same time. It was put on her, which I think was ridiculous b/c if nothing else, the other person NOT paying attention to cars backing out - KNOWING there are ALWAYS blind spots when reversing - should've been paying more attention too and therefore should've been at fault, as well.

The holiday traffic is crazy, too. Couldn't believe how many cars on the road before 11 and I left around 10. My chonk was irritating me to death so I thought I'd get out early to get all the food, but had no idea it was going to rain so much. Still gotta feed the chickens, but I'm not rushing to carry 50lbs down the stairs. Hauled the 40lb dog food in, then as I was about to go out and get the 50lb chicken feed, it started pouring again (as I had waited for a break in the rain once I got back home) and once again, I was swearing at the weather while trying to 'jog' w/ this weight on my shoulder. Now I gotta haul it down to the basement b/c it's out the basement door that leads to the backyard where the non-laying jerks are.

Man... I'm in a mood, now.

Yes, holiday traffic IS insane! Always. I was a little surprised there was so little traffic at the pizza place today - Shane was home and had asked Ryan (dad) if he wanted to go to lunch, so Ryan came over and then invited me and Nathan along if Shane was ok with that - Nathan chose not to go but I did. Usually that place is PACKED at the time we got there, but there was empty spaces right in front !! :o I'm guessing cuz so many went out of town.

Then after getting home from lunch (that was after Shane and I had already been to walmart for shopping this morning), I made all the boys clean up the yard (I asked Ryan to burn all the boxes because Nathan just walks off and leaves fires unattended lately) - so Ryan got Shane and Nathan to help pile them all up (boxes were from the fireworks sale), and they also cleared up all the branches from a tree that was cut down months ago - Shane also raked up the bitty peices and then mowed the lawn around where the grass was so tall and I couldn't do it with the riding mower - apparently HE had no issue cranking the push mower - even tho Nathan said it didn't want to crank, and we thought there was water in the gas, plus the pull cord has been sticking...so yay for cleaner yard. Then Shane got a call and an extra load, so I ran him back up to his truck. He may or may not come home again tomorrow. Depends on what else they can tell him about his NEXT load..... Nathan is now cooking dinner (hamburgers) and we have an extra since Shane was supposed to be here lol oh well. I'm sure Nathan will eat it.

I'm just worried about the insurance spike, and still incredibly pissed about how that driver acted and drove, in general. Then also mad at myself over the fact that I had already wanted to get a dashcam and still haven't, BUT, I know what my next order will be from Amazon. I watch a lot of "idiots in cars" compilations on 'tube and it's made me more aware of everything b/c a lot of those are FROM people w/ dashcams and how they can catch an instance where they would probably be blamed for and it's only the dashcam that saved them, but I find it funny that when others are over at my house and I play that stuff and we go out, they say the same thing - "feeling rather paranoid about other drivers after watching that stuff". snickers Now you know, buddy! :P

Yes, he does. But he doesn't usually turn down food. His response was "I'm comfy and I don't have pants" - and when I pointed out he had pants in the pile on the couch that he had not taken to his room yet "ooohhh well, I'm comfy!!!" LOL He was in pajamas.

I do not always get work out of them, but Shane has always been one to just randomly do things around the yard because he is bored. When younger he would go clear the terrace out of boredom, with the machete! :P The truck stop he usually parks at when coming here is about 10miles away. Not too bad. And its not like he wants to come home every weekend, so I don't mind.

I think since my 30's... also living in a college town at the time... I've started going out in pj's. Never been a big deal for me and I've been known to do it frequently, if they're cute and not "mom-ish" looking. LOL Guys can definitely get away with plaid jammies and slides, crocks or whatever.

Think I might hit the hay early and listen to some immersive podcast stories - basically creepy stories, lol - and try to put the mood of today behind me. There's been maybe a 3hr break from consistent rain but it's back to a steady rain again and I'm not even going out to pluck some more ripe tomatoes off. Been soaked enough for the day.

He was wearing plaid super soft jammies. I don't blame him for not wanting to change. But he has never been the type (nor me either) to go out in pajama's in public....unless we are staying in the car! :P Then I will and sometimes he will. Katie was always willing to go out in her PJ's. In fact, her last 2yrs of highschool she often wore PJ pants as pants, because scrawny little miss that she was, the school couldn't tell they weren't regular design pants :P

Hey guys! Been busy the past few days, but managed to get my quests in.. barely. Except for today. I'm going to try and rush them now.

Today we had friends come over for the second time (and I still like them!0 and we played board games.

And we made ribs, and this morning we smoked some corn and made a smoked corn and quinoa salad (SO GOOD) and Alex made some devilled egg macaroni salad.

And I made a pumpkin cheesecake with salted caramel and again.. SO GOOD. And it was just a super fun day!

But now.. time to get questing :P

This morning was one of those "mondays" that I just wanted to start shoving emails down certain people's throats. You got people that look at code all day who have no idea how to READ!! 😠 Not to mention it seems like I'm the only one on the team that's actually DOING anything and I had to take care of 2 issues from last Friday b/c 2 of us were off (there's only 3 on my team) due to the fact that the oldest member has pretty much decided that he wasn't going to do a whole lot while he hangs around and receives the benefits and pay b/c he's 10yrs past when he could've (should've) retired.

Anyway... I need to process another couple batches of tomatoes and then start on a cabbage stew that sounded good while I was at the grocery store earlier. I got these little golf ball (smaller) size potatoes to go in it. :P I just feel like doing a whole lot of nothing today... not that I didn't do that yesterday. Don't want to waste these tomatoes, tho.

Oo I had a couple mojitos yesterday w/ my own mint! The last time I had one of those drinks was probably 20yrs ago. Bought those mint plants specifically for that drink and while I kept forgetting to water them (the soil dries up waay too fast) and kill quite a bit, they seem very capable of coming back. I bought a peanut butter chocolate cake slice today that looked good. I'll take a pic of it when I open it up but it's a bit messy right now b/c I just kind of threw it in the shopping bag. :P

Yay for forum points!! As I said ... I think it's more the vocabulary....the words. Ugh. Cell structures is the main thing this chapter. So it's babbling about eukaryotic and prokaryotic and organelles and DNA and tons of other terminology and it gets boring to read a bunch of words like that (for me). So it puts me to sleep. Especially on a cloudy/rainy day.

Ooh I like the baby potatoes. I boil them and then drain and just salt and butter and shake in the pan and yummmmmm.

OHHH... yessss that's is very sleep inducing. Honestly I think it's more of the way it's described when learning about it - either by teacher or by the book - that makes it so mind numbing. How do the authors themselves stay awake when WRITING these books!

Oh, baby potatoes? Is that what they are? 😂 I've obviously never bought them before. Hell, I've rarely bought potatoes at all except on the few occasions throughout the year that I make mashed potatoes. I had some idaho here recently as a cheap food to get me through the last week of August and I practiced air frying them as a type of fry. They were just yummy, as potatoes usually are. I just have to be mindful of starches so I generally don't buy them at all.
Waaay back in the early years, our mom would just buy the canned little tomatoes and make them like you described w/ some parsley added. I always thought they were just shaved down to fit inside the can. 😂

I don't know what the official name is. But I call them baby potatoes LOL Ryan went over the road again this week and next, and he'd just bought a bag of Idahos, so he gave them to me. I sliced some the other night and did kind of like, potato skins. I baked the slices and then added cheese/bacos. Yum. Turned out pretty good. last night I just did boiled potatoes. Today is spaghetti tho, so no potatoes lol

And... i have never put chili on my spaghetti. I can kind of see doing it tho, if its an all meat chili. I usually do lots of beans and meat chili :) I wouldn't want beans on my sketti.

People at work can be so frustrating :( IF that guy doesn't want to do any work, and he's eligible to retire, why not just do so. Sheesh.

I keep thinking about trying to do some soup/stew in my crockpot, but whenever I look at recipes I'm just all uummmmm maaaaayyyybeeee lol and then don't do it. Maybe as it gets a little colder here I'll be more willing to try some. I need some that can sit for 8hrs tho - a lot of the recipes say 3-4hrs and I'll be at work 8hrs, so really it has to be able to be in there 9hrs or more because dinner is NOT at 330pm when I get home hahaha. I can turn it down to "keep warm" once I get home, but it'll be on low for about 9hrs.

Oh I forgot to tell you, I read about how to cure seeds from tomatoes! :P Apparently, the major step is letting them ferment out. 😔 So yeah, small container, covered w/ a cloth or s/thing, let mold grow on it and let the seeds come apart from the meat of it. Then strain, dry and store.

On my last batch of tomatoes, which is pretty small, thankfully. I don't feel like doing all the cutting tonight for the soup so I'll just make me some burgers and make lettuce "buns". Still tempted to do the fryer drumsticks but I really don't feel like dealing w/ the mess. So tired today.

I love the skin of the Idaho's. It's the main reason I bought them...and OMFG does that sound good!!!!!!!! Bacon and cheese fries (they have baconator fries at Wendy's) are the BOMB!! I would take that over icing smothered cupcakes any day! :P

Got a cheeseball today and totally forgot some kind of cracker. Trisquits sound good. Guess I'll be going back to the store again.... tomorrow.

I need to order the lid for my crockpot as I dropped it and it broke years ago. I generally forget about it unless other people mention a recipe. I don't mind using a stock pot, though.

Mmm yes potato skins are great. I loved when Ryan would grill the potatoes - like baking them but omg the flavor is so much better grilled. We poke them (knife or fork) then oil (we use veg, but guess it could be any kind of oil) and salt and pepper. Then grill slowly! (Like over an hour). Delicious. Won't be having those very much anymore as I do not use the grill - I am too lazy. Thats why I tried slicing/baking the potatos the other night.

I have thought about trying the baconator fries, but haven't yet.

Been trying to read chapter 3 again. At least I haven't fallen asleep tho I am still going "omg what the heck does this word mean again?" for all the vocab words hahahah :P stupid big words that no one will ever remember or use UNLESS they are a biologist :P Getting up every so often to stir the meat/sauce/sketti helped I think.

I like wheat thins. Triscuts are ok. but for dipping crackers, I like wheat thins. And I like butter crackers instead of saltines. but sometimes I do crave saltines, but neither of those is a good cheese ball dipping cracker :P Not really anyway lol I use the butter crackers with spanish rice. and with slices of cheddar cheese. And I use tostitos chips with my chili, btw ;) lol I used to use saltines, but found I like the chips waaaay better.

The baconator fries are incredible - but I'm biased b/c I already love Wendy's fries. Probably been a year since I've had those baconator fries... ☹ That will be my treat some day this month.

Idk... I think some of those biological terms get incorporated into medical terms, lol. Those are the WORST! No wait... the Latin terminology for too much stuff is just beyond excessive.

Wheat thins are good for soft stuff like Alouette. Mmmm I was going to get that but it was a dollar more than the cheese ball. I do really like a couple flavors, tho. Again, it's been quite some time since I've bought any cracker type so I can't remember the flavors.

Oh damn, I was going to mention the chili cheese fries they have here too, and for some reason I thought about chili and w/ some kind of nachos, but that's more of a taco type of flavor. I've never had chili w/ nachos or tostitos. And yes, the chili is meat, and beans are optional.
