Aww, I know that was a tough decision and thing to do for the dog. I do believe that you were right in your choice, tho. He had a very long, healthy and fun life. <3 hugs - just b/c I know how difficult that shit is

Ok so my LARGE company, I get medical, dental and vision for over $300 a month for me and my youngest, PLUS, we have a $1700 deductible which a LOT of services are claiming towards that deductible.... meaning that we pay out of pocket for over half of anything until it's met; Chiro care is one of those, so is mental health care and apparently I can't have a 5min phone call w/ my doctor about concerns w/out getting charged $70 GD DOLLARS, which I'm trying to fight.

No... I abhor giving cats bath. Not to be brash here but this isn't s/thing we should avoid - it's like douching.... absolutely no reason for it. So, even after checking every little small piece of whatever in the tub, I didn't see ANY signs of fleas (and I did do a light dawn washing which I know kills adult fleas) so maybe the bath will help the little bumps I've felt. And yes, he's probably the most chill of the group, although I did recently clip nails so I wasn't too worried. The meowing is SO pathetic, tho!! 😢

Got my mail and saw a road toll envelope addressed to my youngest. Opened it up and she owes $13 bucks. I'm dead. Asked her if she had been using them and she said yeah, "idk what they're for" and I laughed my ass off. Explained it to her, took pics of where she could go to pay it and whatnot. I know most toll roads are in the upper Eastern states so I never thought to warn her of them. I'm still laughing, tho.

Toll roads freak me out. I have never lived in a place that regularly uses them!!! When I went to visit my friend in Massachusetts it was so weird driving thru toll roads on the way there.

Thanks for the love over Duncan It was a hard choice but after I it was done I felt such relief and less stress.

My insurance is thru my job. I guess I pay round $100-150(I can't remember offhand) per month and deductable of like $2000 which I have to pay all of before insurance starts paying. I have decided to switch back to the one I pay a little more for (maybe like $175?) And I still have the deductable about the same BUT only have to pay $35 copay at Dr office instead of waiting til deductable is paid. So I will be doing that whenever enrollment comes again which is soon, sometime between now and Dec.

I think last time we bathed the cat it took both of us and we got scratched big time lol feral little thing she was then. She's a lot bigger now. It's been years. I bathe dogs but have never thought that cats needed bath much as they tend to clean themselves

sneaks in Hi pals, it is easy for us to find new boards! The name is pretty similar tbf, Kat!! 😆

I don't post much cos I'm often not on long but I do lurk and try to keep up with your posts! Sometimes the conversation is quite complex and if I know I'm not going to be around for a while to reply again then I'm less likely to post! There's always lurkers points at Luce 😆 I assume anyway, we always lurked on our own chat thread on neo!

The weather was so hot the last few weeks that sitting at my laptop just wasn't an option! It's cooled down this week but I'm on holiday from work so doing nice things and getting outside as much as possible!

I'm glad I don't have to pay insurance for healthcare - it must be such a stress for you. We are very lucky to have our NHS, even though the government have made a mess of it over the last 10 years.

Yay for the new friend Mieke! It can be hard to make new friends but I've personally found it's a bit of a long game and sometimes you put in a bit of effort with someone and it doesn't quite take off - there's lots of reasons why but hopefully somewhere along the line you forge a good friendship with someone and enjoy the short times you have with others!

I'm the kind of person who is quite open if you ask, haha! I tend to be quite qiet but if someone asks me a specific question they will get all the info!

Well, this was another short one - I'm off to watch outback opal hunters and then to bed!

Lots of love to you all xxx

LOL well good I am glad you guys will not get lost ;) We want you around! I did try to keep a similar name.

I read my chapter 1 in science over the weekend, so today, I went over the PowerPoint/lecture (lecture given by teacher, based on the PowerPoint, summarizes the chapter), watched 3 videos (similar information given) and have played 3 of the 8 or so vocabulary practice games :P Debating if I need to write my own notes on the chapter or if the PowerPoint I printed off will give enough info.....hmm Maybe I can make some quick notes ON the PowerPoint. I did one of the lab simulations over the weekend too - lab safety. There is now another lab available to do, so I might play with that in a bit.

Need to eat dinner. Oven finally got hot. Doing tostadas/burritos for a quick meal, since I already have cheese/lettuce and tomato available from doing tacos with Shane on Saturday :P

[edit] 733pm 8/23 So decided not to re-read the science chapter and take notes. I did 1 1/2 more of the games for the vocab and then did the Chapter 1 Assignment. Got a 100. Did the two lab simulations - clicked the wrong answer a few times, but finally got a 100 on both lol (thank goodness those are unlimited) - each wrong answer only takes 2 points off your grade - you get as many chances to get the right answer as you need - so like, I got a 90something and an 80 something orignially (one had 10 questions, the other only had 3) so not like I failed them or anything, but since I have unlimited tries to get a 100, why not do so? Plus I needed to redo it in order to take notes ;) Wrote notes on the items the teacher stated would be on the lab exams. I tried to make sense of the calendar for due dates - and I may have messed up on the Lab simulation dates, but we will see. It'll be ok :P Waiting for tomorrow night to see what exactly my "discussions" in the English class will be like. He said we'd be able to do it during his "lecture" each Wed night. I also hope to get some insight on what exactly we are supposed to do for the two bigger writing assignments, as the notes he has online do not make much sense to me.

I just looked over my week - and sheesh. How the heck....I have something to do every day/night except Thursday. - Yesterday I went to Lagrange for the Orthodontist. Today I went to the pediatrician to discuss not taking medication (Nathan), tomorrow I have to go to the highschool and talk to the counselor AND go to the college and go to class. Friday Nathan has therapy and I'll probably go shopping at walmart since Saturday I am taking 3 little girls to the official visit in Jesup and then to Tybee Island for a dance. Yay FUN :P Then we'll spend the night and come home Sunday morning. Going into next week, I have to go BACK to Lagrange to the Orthodontist on Tuesday - he got his braces off, and need to get the retainer.

I completely understand ... and HI to the lurker known as ! :P

The days have been much nicer here lately after alllll that rain and weeks of cloudy weather. I still don't feel like doing much anymore. I don't know if I got stuck in a rut or what.

That's a busy ass schedule, Kat! I would be looking forward to the weekend just to stay in bed for at least one day, lol. (although when I do that, I end up really sore)

Wednesday... hmph.

Yeah I can't stay in bed. It hurts if I lay there awake too long. I will say I do think that it is a lot this week. Thankfully most of it won't take too long. Except the Saturday/Sunday drives to and from Savannah area. That's a 3.5 hr trip or more depending on traffic.

OH damn, that's a long trip. Good thing it's not back to back. (to be fair, the last time I did a long trip a few years ago, my car had INCREDIBLY comfortable seats but it was still long - over 4hrs to Nashville and then missed a highway turnoff and it made the trip back home like close to 6hrs) That was after work and still worked the next day starting at 7 instead of 6.
Drove down to KY a year or so later and that was a 3hr trip to the national park for my camping trip and that's the last time I've driven so long.
Would like to take a trip next weekend over to the area I want to camp (another national forest but here in OH), but I don't know... Would probably really help get me out of my rut.

My usual road trip is 6hrs to my mom's. Haven't done that in a long time. Longest trip I remember driving is the trip to my best friend's wedding, 18hrs. Hubby drove most of it, I drove some. Have taken many trips to Savannah (by the way, that 3.5 hr is ONE WAY) and other locations around the state for Katie while in youth group. Savannah is usually the longest one for that. I emphasized the remember because I know as a child I travelled across country several times, we moved from Utah to New York and back to either Utah or Arizona....I've also moved as a child to Washington State from either Arizona or Utah, and to California...and from California to Georgia - I do maaaybe remember a little of that trip, but its all blended together really I think. All the road trips. And I didn't drive them as a child :P

Cheddar is mad at me. I am out of cat food. I am trying to ignore him (he is pawing/clawing at my chair lol). The food bowls were full this morning with the last of the food, but I didn't realize it was the last. I thought I had another bag. So I just added another stop to my trip to college tonight. Stop and buy cat food :P

Hi !! Hope you are enjoying your beer festival!

You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! Well hello, long time no see!! :)

[edit] 820pm Ye gawds I forgot how fast that man talks (the college teacher - I hadn't spoke to him in person since LAST fall! :P During cross-country season when he was Nathan's coach.) Ah well. Got some notes, got assignment 1 half done (poetry thread - still need to reply to 2 people) And got a little clarification on how the final exam will be....but he said he'll discuss the two writing assignments a little later on :P I told him as I left, that he better discuss them more because those are the things I'm concerned about doing right!

Stopped at walmart in the rain to get cat food. Dang fat cats better appreciate it. They both came running as soon as they heard me open the bag to pour it into the container I keep it in to keep it fresh

[edit] 820pm 8/25 Well. So much for my "not going anywhere" thursday :P Shane texted me and asked if he could come home tonight. Dunno yet if he'll be going back to the truck tonight or in the morning. Guess we'll see after dinner. Either way, I didn't get to come right home, I had to go pick him up at the truck stop :P Finished my two replies on the discussion thread. So now all assignments that I know of are complete.

[edit] Saturday 1010am So Did not go to Jesup/Tybee (Savannah) with the youth group. Nathan woke up Friday morning with a fever, and body aches and had had a headache for a couple of days before that. So. Yea. Going to see if he feels better by Monday - if not I'll see if I can get him a dr apt Tuesday and just take a full day off. So this morning, I treated myself to IHOP, then went shopping. I only spent $40 at walmart :o wow but - that was because I spent $170 at Ingles LOL This is because they were doing special fuel points deals on a lot of things I buy, and if I can get LOADS of fuel points, why not? The items didn't cost too much more than I would pay at walmart anyway. (usually its a few dollars cheaper for the most expensive items - like laundry soap, which is why i buy it at walmart) However, I just saved $1 per gallon on gas AND hubby can also save $1 per gallon on gas, because we now have (err had since I used some) over 2k fuel points! :P Usually that would take spending $2k in groceries, not $200 :P ($1 = 1pt)

Hiiii......Kat. :P
(Hi ... Enjoy yourself!!)

I don't know how to respond to all your school stuff other than I'm happy that you are doing really well and also really like it, other than a few things outside of anyone's control.

My younger bro was over for a few days.. biked over from his house which is just over 2hrs of a ride. I personally did an nearly identical route back when I was 19 so I already knew how long it would take. He showed up on Monday and I let him hang around and take care of him until I gave him a gentle prod about taking him home - as I have a bike hanger for a car - on Thursday, but he left that evening, not taking my invite. Said he starts a job on Monday w/ a friend, but I really have to wonder how long that friend will pick him up and take him home, since his vehicles need more work than he can do.
Looking forward to next week just b/c it will be short by one day and I'll have a 4 day weekend that I hope to be able to do s/thing with. At least I get paid on Wednesday so I'll have the gas money and hope to get gas before they jack us for the holiday.

You were much further West than I've ever been. My longest drive was out to Boulder, CO. To see a glimpse of the Rockies.... ahh, that brings back some memories. The night sky at that latitude.... just... breathtaking. No camera at the time could've done it justice so I'm glad I ingrained it to my memories. I was with my first husband, which I married on a whim at 19, drove out to Boulder later that year, camped out in the foothills for a month. To say I was a bit of a "hippy" type was very accurate. Taking "baths" in COLD AF mountain streams was NO JOKE. (good gawd how I remember the icy coldness of those.... like nothing else I've ever experienced in the middle of summer) While it was one of the most memorable times of my life, I now think about how dangerous it was w/ the bears and cougars. My ex was convinced one night that he was stalked and it was dark AF but we were hanging out w/ other "hippy" types and he went to our camp to get s/thing and came back so wide eyed and freaked out, we decided to stay w/ the other couple.
Nostalgia... not w/ him, but of the entire experience itself. Having some drinks (cheers Luce!) and for whatever reason, I'm having a memory trip. Guess it's from thinking about how far West you used to live (or came from).

Hey well :P Its a chitchat board. I'm chatting, if only to myself sometimes LOL No worries on not knowing how to respond about schoolwork, again, I'm just chatting. Giving info on what I am up to :P

Ohh I hope that visit was nice. Glad he took your hint and left on his own instead of staying longer. I'm glad to hear he has a job, and I do hope it works out for him, friend driving him or no, perhaps he will start getting straight again. OMG NOOOOOO how could you??? Bathe in a freezing cold stream? BRRRR Nope NOT ME!!!! I also cannot imagine camping where it was unsafe, with wildlife like that :o Eeek. At least you did have fun doing it :D And 4day weekends are excellent! I will get a 3 day for Labor Day Weekend :)

I asked Nathan to mow the lawn yesterday, well he did not. So thats what I've been doing this morning. I was out mowing the lawn. I am going to send him over to the neighbor to see if she still needs hers mowed, we saw a guy with a trailer/mower over there a couple weekends ago - so I don't know if she got a new mower or someone to fix hers or what, but we'd been mowing hers up til then....it needs it, like ours did. Still need to weedeat, clean the dogpen, and maybe even rake up some of the grass clippings because it was soooo thick!!

How's Nathan feeling, Kat?

We won our first football game of the year! The first TD, the kid ran 80 yards, it was incredible!

D got dropped off, and then Frells friend Colette got dropped off too. So the three of them ran our merch stand, and Alex, Iz and I watched the game. They had fun and sold a lot, too. And Lily was VERY excited about her first game of the season, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how their show improves over the next few months! However, she did great, and as always, playing three different instruments in one song haha.

Then yesterday we dropped Lily off at a friends house (they went to Chuck E Cheese for his 16th birthday?!) and took all the other kids to the orchard. E and Colette hung out, and D and Iz were buddies.. so Alex and I had a fun day by ourselves! (Well.. with Matt! But mostly us :P). We filled our produce bags with green beans and green tomatoes, and all the flower cards were worth 3 now, instead of 1, so I have a really gorgeous display on the table!

And this morning I spent some time, I cleaned up the green beans while Alex made breakfast, then Frell cut up the peaches and nectarines that didn't get eaten from the food share last week, so they're currently lined out on a sheet tray indiviually freezing. I'll put them into containers later, for smoothies.

Now.. it's almost time to take Iz to a birthday party at the trampoline park, then go to Sunday dinner.. in celebration of Ds 18th birthday! Which is just.. incredible to me :P I still haven't gotten her a present though, like.. she's got more money than I do :P And I want it to be something that MEANS something, but I've been thinking about it for months and I can't figure it out.

School starts Wednesday morning :(

How do you have a football game before school starts??? Lol scrimmage? And they let the band play too?? Or actual real game just before school started??

Sounds like you've been crazy busy!! With lots of fun!!!

Nathan is feeling better. He still is coughing but no fever or aches anymore. At least not that hea told me or I've seen him take medicine for anyway 😝 I told him yesterday if he didn't feel up to doing the lawn I would (it's a riding mower) but he said he would later in the day. Dark came and he didn't do it. He did dye his hair though. Purple this time. I'll have to get pix if mr grumpy butt let's me. (He didn't do the back very well and I offered to help him fix it but he grumped at me if he wanted help he would ask and he didn't ask. Sheesh. Can't a mom be nice?) So that is why I went and mowed. I wanted it done and he didn't do it when he said he would To be fair he probably would have done it today but I didn't feel like waiting any longer.

Weedeated around the front then the battery died. So it's charging. Raked a little bit of the front yard. Still need to do the dog pen.

Beer fest is officially over until next year.

It was the best yet. It hadn’t been on for two years due to covid. It was down to the people we spent it with. Total legends. For those on my Facebook there are some pictures from most days. Can’t wait for next years. I have a feeling it’s going to be bigger and better than this years.

Today is a bank holiday so no work. Back in tomorrow. I’m going to struggle as I’ve just got out of bed and it’s 11am. And I need up to up and out the house by 5.55am as it’s a day in the office tomorrow 😭

Yes. Ugh. Teenagers :P Can't even be nice to them.

Luce glad you had fun!! Its nice they were able to hold the festival again. I'm glad things are getting back to normal from covid shutdown! Wow you stayed in bed late. 7am is staying in bed late for me hahahah!! No way could I stay there til 11am. I am usually awake before 6 (my alarm goes off at 6) and I leave the house by 7 to get to work (I love my short 10-15min drive) :D - Even on weekends I wake up around the same time. Summers too - I'll start sleeping in til 7 like the week before its time to start getting up at 6 again!! :P lol

OMG I have to start questing again. Even tho - I probably don't NEED anything from all those old holiday items they are giving away, I might as well have fun seeing what ones I get! :P
