nods especially if it raises your pulse rate (like brisk walking would), although because Mum found walking beneficial when she first had her thyroid problem, she's got it in her head that walking is the answer to everything o.O Yeah you don't want to find you're making your shoulder more of a problem squishes

The only non-new thing in the outfit is the eyes.... I thought it needed something just to make it look less dark :P

[edit] After a couple of years of not really being able to get 'into' Christmas (I didn't do much with my tree last year), I figured this year is going to be different. So I've planned ahead for once, and got a couple of tealight holders from Hobbycraft (plus a tray and a 'snow blanket' that really is just wadding).... and made myself a little Christmas scene to sit on my sewing table :D Being on the tray means there's just one thing to move to be able to sew(!) and instead of tealights I've used my multicoloured battery operated tree lights (that never got as far as being on my tree last year) :D They were a bit bigger than I'd anticipated (they only just fit on the tray 😊) but all that's left is to paint them, although at the moment I quite like them white laughs

Drag the last one to the address bar to see the fake snow effect a bit better :P

You could buy pure lavender oil and mix it into your own spray. ;)

How are your projects coming along? :D It is slow going here with sweater and slippers sadly. o-o

Sorry to hear about your heel and the bloodsugar issues. :( I know there are certain types of diabetes meds that can also assist with weight loss.. Might be worth looking into if it is in your budget etc of course. :hugs:

I've actually never thought of doing that! I might give that a go at some point - or just see if I can pick and dry some lavender flowers from the allotment ;) :D

I've had to put my main sweater project on hold at the moment, as I've got some split skin on the ends of my thumbs which makes sewing impossible until that's all healed :K (my skin doesn't get on with plasters, so I end up with medical tape just over the areas of split skin, which isn't ideal to try sewing with that stuck to my hands!)

How far have you got with your sweater?

So devastating news. Im back in a cast. I have a ruptured tendon. The cast will protect it while it heals. And I’ll have it for at least two weeks. But it gets worse, My high arches make for a weak leg and more chances for damage thus He told me I won’t be able to kickbox or do my dancing games again which is even more devastating. I’ll have to look at games or a machine that will provide less impact on the feet. I love those games so this is crippling. Plus how am i to work on loosing weight when my best workouts are now gone.

Oh love the village Paddy

yowch that sounds incredibly painful! I wonder if the foot doc would be able to suggest any suitable exercises (once you're out of the cast and it's healed, obviously!), given that the other doc is telling you to exercise?

But that really stinks that you can't do your favourite games any more :( squishes

:) Not sure if I'll paint the house ones, but I think eventually I need to paint that tree, as a white Christmas tree just feels a bit weird :P

it is. I could barely stand :/ Well he said an upper body workout, swimming or walking... I love swimming but I don't feel confident swimming without a mask until covid is not much of a threat... I dont like the idea of a gym because I don't want everyone staring at me when I work out (or me feeling like they are) plus there's the drive and covid... So that leaves finding a machine I can use or a sports game I guess? -sigh- and i really, really loved the fitness boxing game. I liked my dancing games too. I feel so defeated.

Well if you paint 'em that'll make them more custom but either way they look great :)

wow the crab thing looks great on the bg :)

ooo I love today's look! That's a purrfect use of the background & cat ;)

I'd be the same with the gym & swimming - I hate any form of exercise where I feel that people could be staring at me! 😊 Depending on which boxing game it is, is it possible to do any of that seated rather than standing? (I know some kind of boxing games work better than others if you're not able to do the foot movement to go with a punch). I know there's seated exercises (I came across some before when I was looking for something else entirely!), but they don't tend to be the same level of intensity as the boxing games are :K

I was quite surprised how well that crab worked!!

thanks. I thought the glitchy kitty worked well with the witchy kitty too lol. I am gonna try the cauldron with her if she sits right.

I see im not the only one to get the collection today 😉 nimah looks cute

Does nintendo sports or go vacation have much exercise? Well you’re supposed to bob to the music. I mean i guess you could just do it sitting but i have a game called Arms that does similar with the punching. But i think the movement is part of the appeal.

Me too to be honest

If you could pick some lavender from the allotment that would be a very cheap option. :D

Sorry about the skin problems.. I hope it heals well enough soon for you to do some more sewing. I am working on the first arm right now. :)

I am sorry about the pains and the bad news from your doctor. :( :hugs: I think swimming sounds like the better option, but I understand your concerns.

The glitchy kitty was definitely a good choice to go with the witchy one :D I'm trying to not let Niamh see any Morostide companions in case she gets ideas for spending more of my CSC :P

Thanks :d I couldn't resist ;)

I'd forgotten about bobbing to the music - that would be more challenging to make out that you're doing that if you're sat down! :K

I've got Sports Resort on the Wii and that has table tennis, swordplay and canoeing which are pretty active, plus more laid back ones like ten pin bowling, frisbee and archery. If you've got the Wii Fit, then there's cycling which basically is walking on the Wii Fit balance board while steering a bike around the island to try and collect the flags (I found cycling on the Sports Resort game a lot harder to control, and kept crashing!!)

Go Vacation on the Wii has dancing (literally just your arms) but it's not on the Switch version :K The most active ones from the Wii version would be things like Beach Volleyball, Tennis, and the games at the carnival (like a punching game & lobbing balls into a dustbin) - I can't say for certain if the carnival games are on the Switch version or not as I abandoned it when I got annoyed the dancing wasn't on there! 😊

I do also have Switch Sports (never used it so far!) which has volleyball, badminton, tennis and chambara (looks like Sports Resort Swordplay) which should also be pretty active upper body stuff, without needing to worry about moving your legs around.

It might also help stop the lavender getting too tall as well! :P I was able to do some colouring today with gloves on, but I can't wear gloves when I'm sewing - I tried before, but the glove sometimes gets caught up with what I'm trying to sew 😊

That's always a good point when you can see it actually starting to look like a sweater :D Hopefully the colour changes aren't being too annoying though! ;)

Yeah right now swimming isn't much of an option. When covid's less of a threat maybe but it remains that the best place to go would be the military base so I'd have to have my dad or mum drive me since I can't get on the base by myself (no military id) which means THEY have to want to go... it doesn't make for an ideal workout situation.

Oh but she should spend more of your csc :D I wish I had some for the festivities, but unless I get some questing time in and convert I'll have to wait.

lack of dancing probably is a plus right now. I'm looking at Go vacation the most. Just gotta get the money for it. Nintendo sports is the other one I was pretty interested in. :)

And today's witchy look is even better!! :D :D

Yeah the sP price of CSC has gone up considerably since I last looked! o.O I think that'll take a load of questing ;)

Very true ;) Certainly Go Vacation is fun with finding your way around each resort area, so you can do that between the exercise bits ;) I'll have to dig out my Switch and try the sports game to see what that's like (I can't even remember why I bought that one 😊)

I hope you can find something you are happy with. :hugs:

It is good you have other things to keep you busy when your skin is acting up. :)

:nods: I am just lacking the motivation to actually knit these days. :P

I'm hoping my skin starts to co-operate soon, but I think the chilly weather came as a surprise to my skin :P

Well that definitely doesn't help! Is there a small project you could do, that'd give you a feel-good factor for finishing something, rather than feeling you're having to plod through the sweater? I've tried to add in a few 'fun' sewing projects if I've got bogged down with a large or complicated one ;)

thanks :d I wanted to try out the background, and Niamh decided it should have a cherry blossom outfit to go with it ;)

The exchange rates are pretty rubbish too - you know when you were last over here that it was near enough one pound = 2 dollars? It's near enough one pound = one dollar now :K

hides behind the chair ....I mean that's a perfectly awesome outfit that doesn't look too scary or creepy in any way! 😇

My hands always seem to get very dry this time of year, so that wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I have started crocheting some slippers for mum, that is a smaller project at least. ;)

:hugs: I guess you could lift weights etc.. but of course you would need some equipment for that.

ooo those slippers should look amazing when they're done :d How do you manage though to get a pair to look like they match? Whenever I tried knitting a matching pair of anything, the second one never looks like it goes with the first 😊 :P

They seem to match without trouble for me. I just follow the pattern religiously and it seems to work out usually. Not the most helpful answer, I know. :P

you're clearly a lot more skilled than I am! I think maybe I put too much effort into trying to get them to match, so it's guaranteed that they won't
