I still get caught out the other way with challengers that you think you can beat really easily, only to find out there's no healing allowed during the battle, and the opponent steals all your weapons before you get much chance to defeat them! :P

No news yet - Mum's asked a local care home if they have any vacancies (they have two weeks available for respite, but that would mean she'd still need to move somewhere else after those two weeks). Gran's meant to have an assessment from the hospital (that apparently should happen within a week), to know what she officially needs, then if the hospital are finding her a care home place, that can take 4 weeks (or longer) depending on which care home has a vacancy and is willing to take on someone who needs that high a level of care.

haha well you never know, I mean look at some of those knackered things in museums already :P yeah you have to be really careful. Sometimes there's little tiny print disclaiming that their statements aren't backed by you know, the truth lol But sometimes there really isn't anything and they look good. I often have to double or triple check to make sure it's legit. And sometimes you can get knock offs on Amazon and Walmart. Like both have dummy Nintendo mini's and they are selling them at outrageous prices. I had to watch a video to see how to check and make sure it's the real thing. These fakes really cost like $10 but selling them for like $150 or more. Mum wanted one for Christmas one year.

The stats can sometimes feel misleading for challengers, so I figured I would give it a go. Glad I did since I was able to beat them 5 times for the prizes. After that, it was a no go. :P

I hope it works out well, and that she will like it where she ends up living. :) Sounds like the system we have here, things always takes a lot of time. :P And more and more they seem to want to keep people at their own home, despite they needing a lot of care! o-o

Yeah that's one reason why I try to avoid buying certain things from places like Amazon (certainly from third-party sellers) just in case it's not genuine!

nods thankfully they've agreed that her going home isn't an option (Grandad wouldn't be able to cope with the number of care workers Gran would need during the day), but they do prefer people to have care at home, even though that was a nightmare in itself just to find an agency that could do one care visit each day earlier in the year (Mum asked for Gran to be put on a waiting list in February I think, and she's still not at the top of the list now!). The NHS provide care for a set period of time after the person is discharged from hospital to home, but then of course you're expected to have care arranged to replace that ;)

I am training my pet very slowly.. just two sessions a day, so it might take a while. ;)

I hope it all works out for the best. It is not a great situation when there are waiting list for services people are in need of quickly. How does your Gran feel about moving into a care home? :)

Honestly I think Gran would much prefer to be going home rather than a care home. However, she does have Alzheimers, and because of that, she's not able to retain much in the way of recent information.... so I don't know that she's really aware that she needs to go into a care home anyway! She has got more used to the hospital routines (like the times for meals and all that), so hopefully she won't find it too challenging to fit into a care home's routines ;)

it still hurts but I think it's going alright. I've been slowly working in more chores/ things to do so I can regain my strength/stamina with it. Hopefully I'll be 100% soon.

Just wanted to give you gals a heads up. I am leaving on Thursday for my trip to Scotland. :D We are visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, as well as Loch Ness. Going by train. :) Well, plane to actually get to Scotland first. lol So I won't be around much. Mum will be here tomorrow, as she is spending the night before our very early trip to the airport. :)
