I had an issue with another thread where I got a forum group ping, and when I got the notification, it didn't link to a thread.... not sure if it's related though.

sounds like fun! Be sure to keep your phone off and enjoy your time! ^_^ Dean wasn't hard once I figured out what I had to do to beat him. Since I didn't find any guide as to his weapons/icons, I went after him with my default gear, and started checking what he used and what icons he did. Once I was about to die (he had about 1/2 HP still, because he stole my RotL and used it), I forfeit the battle, and chose weapons accordingly.... easy win :P

I did read in a news post that pointed out he should be kept frozen for better results, so I took a Mercurial Throwing Vial to use midway through the battle :P

I didn't realize he stole. Chain freezing is usually the best way to deal with opponents unless of course they can't be frozen.

I'm pretty sure it was him, but now you made me doubt ... I'll keep an eye on him whenever he appears again in BQ and confirm.

I just realized how many Throwback challengers I didn't even try to fight and I regret it so badly right now :(

- you really were lucky to be able to beat General Error on the first try! That must have made you very happy. Like I said, sometimes things just seem to work out. :-)

- everyone needs something that works like that for when things get stressful. It's good that battling works that way for you, especially since you are so good at it and really seem to enjoy it as well.

I was so prepared for him to resist, it was a pretty amazing surprise! :D Still, I am still afraid to challenge him outside BQ, since forfeits do count as losses, while apparently they don't during BQ :P

I'll keep updating it, since I'm still not done, but you can always let me know if you want me to add a challenger/weapon/scroll to it ;)

- wins, losses and forfeits during BQs don't contribute to your battle stats. On the other hand, losses aren't really a problem. Tos has almost as many losses as wins since she has been taking on some of the challengers who are harder for her. It seems to me that losses are almost a badge of honor. :-)

Thank you, I will do that. But since you are ahead of me both in tier and equipment, it's unlikely that I will need/want anything you haven't already added. :-)

I always thought that loses decreased your pet's battle stats? Unless that was before a revamp that removed those %s? Or unless that was from Neopets and I have things mixed up in my head XD

Even looking at the official in-depth guide I can't find anything about losses negatively affecting your pet. I don't think they really mean anything anymore, they just show up on your record. But even that doesn't matter too much, since stats get cleared from time to time.

I hope so too! I just went through recently and beat a bunch more challengers that I must have missed before, or I wasn't strong enough to beat yet. So that was pretty nice, getting a lot of extra exp then. :P

I'm kind of the same way, I've been using the tougher BQ opponents to try and test strategies to see what helps. I have a decent battle set, but not quite as many of the high-end weapons as some other battlers. Although today I was able to get a few more goodies to use, and they've been working pretty nicely so far!

I've been finding BQs more useful than what I originally thought! I love how they're basically a testing ground to test opponents you couldn't take in the past.

I just recently upgraded a few of my weapons & scrolls as well! However, there are still a lot I need to get... and Natasha & OHS are going to be the death of me LOL

Finally finished the visual weapon/icons guide for this guy (because I couldn't find any), and had to check what his blessing was all about :P

Yeah, I like being able to judge progress that way. Like when I could only get to level 15, then 20, and now (usually) 25. It's fun! Plus the EXP is always nice ~

LOL I'm like semi-saving up for a Natasha and such as well, but I don't think I'll ever make it. ;~; I did get the Soma Tablets, Reviver of the Lion, and Intricate Energized Helmet today though. And I was able to beat General Error 5 times today! I don't know if I'll be able to get to 10 wins yet though.

same here (well since I got serious about battling - last week haha)... I normally get to level 25 without issues, and the further I've gotten is level 28 or 29, but I normally get to 26-27.

And EXP mass-boosting is really fun ;) haha

Congratulations on those new additions! I got the Helmet a few days ago, and I love it! I got the RotL during the last week of the Hydras (to beat the 7-headed one), but haven't gotten the Tablets yet

I've been spending so much time checking battle stuff and battling and chatting here that I haven't really done my quests to get the OHS/Natasha, but at least I've been getting some sales in, which helps a bit.

Congratulations on beating GE 5x! I've only done him in BQ... he's still hard for me without like 50 forfeits (until he doesn't freeze me in the first turn, or chain freezes me (and killing me), when I'm doing a good job with him :P

But each month will bring progress, and I'll get him outside of BQ eventually, but definitely within 6 months, I'm sure :D

Thanks! I was waiting for my shop sales to get to 250 million for that one achievement, and finally got there today so I decided to splurge on some battle things. Just happened to finally get enough battle tokens today as well for the components to make the helmet, so all-around a pretty good day!

General Error was one of the tougher ones for me, but having some extra freeze protection and healing helped me manage it.

Sweet! Congratulations on getting that achievement! It's so tempting to not remove the sP from the till :P

For me getting through the first turn without getting frozen is my problem with General Error... he looooves to use his freezer on the first turn :P

Were you thinking that losses affected your pet's stats (which I see from your discussion with you now know isn't true) or your pet's rank? If it's the latter I haven't paid any attention to it at all, so you would have to ask one of the more experienced battlers.
