Item Defenders Shield doesn't work

I can't select spells when I'm fighting him, just weapons. Is that a thing?

Just to add to the pile from my usual weapons, but or don't appear to do anything.

Yeah there's a few opponents that disable scrolls. Not many, but a few others.

so, without reading every post, it seems the trick has something to do with a shield?

:x I ran out of T1 defense only weapons.

I didn't look into retired, cash shop, or plot prize weapons since I don't think the staff would do that. So, sorry to let all your hopes and dreams down, guys X3

It might - the person who was able to beat the Troll reported that the tactics they used to get their first 5 wins don't work anymore, and they don't work for anyone else now either... ):

I'm gonna try something kinda gimmicky and just keep my pet in battle with him rather than forfeit and try again. See if sitting for 24 hours or something does anything.

I did that from about 2am to 11:30am without any luck. Plus the person with wins didn't do that, so I really think it's a specific item that changes hourly.

The Replica Minotaur Knocker and Shinwas Heart Pendant do not work with a tier 1 pet (albeit with stats over 10).

With that logic, you should be able to win with the Hikei shield at the same time tomorrow as the other user did. Maybe even at 12 hour intervals, rather than 24?

Assuming the weapon is constant. If it changes to a different t1 weapon at 1am/pm, we won't be so lucky.

Blegh - I tried a bunch of random T1 stuff (Vegetable Sword, other 'silly' items) to no avail. I'm going to get something to eat and try again in a little bit QuQ

But then it would be completely random...forever. I can't imagine the staff doing that unless they had some motive to make you guys get more losses. Unless I'm underestimating the battle admins!

I could imagine there being 24 different random weapons/shields that render the troll unable to attack, and they're on a rotating by hour schedule for the whole day...but out of all the weapons items on Subeta? A random one every hour? The probability of that other user (sorry I don't know anyone's names!) happening across the right one on the first day seems unlikely. I feel like it's more probable that the Hikei Grooming Shield was slotted for that hour of the day. But the only way to test that is to use it again at the same time tomorrow, I guess!

I wouldn't put it past them to make it almost completely random. I think it should have had a riddle encorporated in the battle because that's what trolls do.

I'm not a battle war-lord by any means, bbbbut I've read this entire forum and I had an idea, what if the Troll is only beatable by a certain number of users during any time? Does that sounds plausible? You know - like if only 10 people can beat him in one hour and then it resets the next hour (and weapons have no importance). Just a thought. :)

I've read through all these and it's getting to the point where I don't think I care any more. Stupid Troll.
