Yeah, do that :) Kbbob bought a bunch of r1-99 weapons and those knuckles worked for him. I spent a whole day thinking of theories and testing things, and it was only when I decided to say eff it and just try random stuff that I got my wins. I think that's the key.
Well. I just tried very nearly everything from this list and nothing I tried worked. Either someone else has won since I started (very possible), it's one of the expensive items I refuse to buy or that theory is wrong. :c /mumbles some very rude words
I hope you have more luck than me! c:
You mentioned that all three winning weapons had "br" in the name. I just went ahead and tried all of the r1-99 "br" weapons other than the winning three and nothing..:(
[tot=mardou]
I was going to say all the weapons had an 8 letter word in the name but Goldbrand is 9. XD Maybe it needs at least 8 letters though?
Can goldbrand be won from bqs? Maybe it's only bq weapons that can defeat him randomly?
Has anyone tried ? I just restocked it and I can give it a try if not :)

OK so these are the 8+ letter word items that I tried so far (to no avail)
Still have some to try out though. Will update in a few.
[edit] Also not working:
May it's nothing to do with 8+ letters in a word in the name? XD I do like that BQ reward idea. Anyone attempt it?
[edit] Most of my items are over r99 too. Maybe, if it is R1-R99, the 8+ letter thing might work? XD I should go purchase some more stuff lol
yeah mine worked right away :)
I brought 8 weapons with me and did 4 attacks, two different weapons in each attack. if nothing worked, I forfeited.
my pet is t13, and it worked my first try against the troll.
Thanks!
Pretty sure the winning item is randomized, since people have used their winning item before winning without it being a winning one. So in my opinion it's pretty useless for people to try items and report here it as not working so others don't try it.
Just listing a number of possible ways people or I thought this is organized:
From my experience in coding/programming games, the second option seems to me the least intensive taking the least amount of memory/cache.
I am pretty sure each user has a "winning weapon" assigned to them and it changes after they get 5 wins. Not time dependent, not other user dependent. It just depends what your own weapon happens to be
But used the goldbrand before and it didn't work and then later it worked. So it doesn't seem to be assigned per 5 wins, maybe per 5 battles and if you hit it you can win for 5 battles after?
Oh interesting. Why the hell would it change then o_o I think that's a bit overkill.
- Not even sure it's every user, more like every pet, since the same weapon hasn't worked for multiple pets for the same user. But Poet said they used the weapon they won with in a previous battle and didn't win. that suggests seems to be the most likely.
But the fact that the staff only took 2/3 losses before getting wins (and those losses could potentially be forfeits to make sure certain things did not work ie. blasters) there must be something more there than 'completely random'.
yeah every pet would be more accurate, I didn't even think of saying that but I figured it wouldn't work with multiple pets.
ehh can't they sorta do anything they want so they can look into which items they require?
Yeah because of Poet's experience I was leaning towards the second option.
So when you enter a battle you have like a 10% (random percent lol) chance of winning. If your random draw upon entry is a win, a weapon is randomly chosen from your set. Like any chance/lottery/random game some people win right away some take forever.
- Yes, if it is a random item, the could probably view the code and see which item, but if it is something more like suggested where you have a %chance that you will win before the 'winning item' is decided, the staff would likely have had to have taken several more losses than 2/3 to get a win.
