Has anyone's battling pet actually died from The Troll? Maybe it's about endurance? My pet has too much HP and I have too little patience to test out my theory.

Wow! I don't think I'd have the patience! Tascha only has 207hp and the battle went on long enough for my tastes!

my theory so far:
I took a night of sleep and in the meantime we got a third winner. Now that we got three possible weapons to compare, I did my share. The only thing I came accross that all of them have in common is:
they all got the letter "B" followed by the letter "R" in their name. what they also do have in common is the combination of the letters "Br" followed by a vowel. So far we got "u" leads to "Bru" and "a" which leads to "Bra". [Edit] seems to be disproved by now.

At this point I can't tell anymore what is relevant and what not. Maybe I am grasping for a solution but I don't want to exclude anything from consideration.

On your winning battles, did the weapon work right away? Or did the battle drag on for a while and then it randomly worked? (Basically, should I forfeit if the weapon I'm trying doesn't work right away?)

It worked right away :) I was so shocked I nearly peed myself.

Interesting theory! I'd like to see what the next weapon is.

I'd guess it is a random weapon/defense rarity 1-99 (not sure about tier) and the item changes every 5 wins.

For defensive items, it seems like it nulls his actions and any weapon can be used to defeat him when nulled.

I just tried Hikei Grooming Brush Shield, Goldbrand and Anyu Brass Knuckles by themselves and in all possible combos, nothing, I will however put my own hands through the screen and strangle the damn thing!! :D

The Joker Staff has this description "This Staff Brings about the Full Chaotic Side of April Fools." Could this be something...?

So is it possible that each user has a random r1-99 item (and therefore everyones is different) that works for them for 5 battles and then it randomises again?

So I'm guessing if the item doesn't work on the first try then it won't work for the rest of the battle, so forfeiting after the first round is good to save time? what tier pet did you use with the weapon you won with? Did you try those weapons in other battles against the troll before you first won?

My pet was tier 10, and the weapon was tier 2. Yes, I used the Goldbrand earlier that day and it did nothing. I decided to go through my armory and use all of my weapons, hoping one would work, and the Goldbrand worked that time for 5 rounds.

Huh, that blows my theory out. I'm now thinking it might just be randomized chance to win every time you enter? And if you hit that win chance then of the two items you use on the first round, one is randomly selected as the 'key item to win 5 battles'.

It could be. I figured the weapons were on a time limit, like there's a new chosen weapon each hour or something unless somebody finds the random weapon and beats him with it 5 times, and then it changes either because he was beaten or the timer ran out.

This would be so much less annoying if we could order our armory by Tier (hint hint ) ;___; I'm worried I accidentally remove a high tier item and nuke my mod crystals.

Sorry you must be so sick of pings now! I just wanted to ask if the weapon you won with was the first you attempted to use in the battle? Or did you try a set of 8? I saw you say that you had tried the weapon earlier in the day and it didn't work so I'm curious if it has to be the first one you attack with or something :x

Haha, it's okay. No, it wasn't the first weapon I used to attack him with. I used about 40 different weapons before I tried that one, which is why I think it's just random. Also the weapons that have been chosen are really random, like that hikei brush.
