Maybe I have a warped sense of heartwarming, and most people would just find this depressing, but... a while back I was having a really tough time coping with some things. I couldn't really afford to buy Christmas presents and whatnot, and I ended up breaking down and crying to my Mom. She took my hand and she said, "Do you remember what you told me?" And I just stared at her blankly. "I've said many things to you, you'll have to be a little less vague..." Apparently, when I was reeeeeal little, she said probably around 6 or 7, Mom was taking us (my little brother, who would have only been 1 or 2 at the time) to Kmart, and she was crying for much the same reason (which I didn't know at the time), and I took her hand and said "Don't worry, Mommy, we're together and that's all that matters!" I may have been more of an adult at that age than I am now.
Hugs back. ❤️ ❤️
Sorry it took me so long to enter, sweets! But it made me so happy to see you really wanted me here!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Heartwarming(?) Memory: So last year we celebrated 2 christmases. A "Real" Christmas and then just a plain ol' Christmas... We did this because my mom was dying quickly and we wanted to be able to have Christmas with her before she went. So, my husband and I went to the store and bought all the things she'd been wanting to get for my niece and nephews, and brought them all to the hospital and let her give them their wrapped-up presents, they all got to open their gifts and they cried perhaps more than I expected. The smile on her face was worth it though, she ended up passing the following night, and while it was a sad time, it was the happiest for her. I miss her dearly, but I will always remember the huge smile she had because of something so small.

Memory: several years ago when I was working at a grocery chain down in Florida(Publix). I was able to spoil my nieces pretty good, got one a new bed, the other 2 new bikes, and even got my sisters gamecube bundles and my parents a few days in a hotel..it was kinda fun seeing all their reactions to the gifts. Sadly I haven't been able to do anything like that since.

I think one of my best Christmas memories was last year's Christmas. We live in Florida, but our families live in New York, so we decided to take the plunge and visit New York with a 2 year old. Watching her see and touch snow for the first time was awesome!
Thank you for the ping! hugs
Thank you for entering me! C:
A few years ago, my cousin and I started this tradition on Christmas. What we would do is go to the vegetable tray and each pick out a celery stick, and we would 'duel' with them. I literally have NO idea wht we thought this was a good idea, or what the winner would get, but ever since then, every holiday, we have a celery stick duel. lol. Yeah, we're that kind of family. XD

Well this isn't a holiday story, because I don't really know if I have any holiday stories, but I might have one after this Sunday, so if I do, I'll update the post with it. :) This Sunday my family is getting together for a Last day of Hannukah party. We usually don't do much other than light the candles and eat Suvganyot (yeast donuts for Hannukah) and sometimes have a family dinner.
So yeah... that's kind of my semi-boring life. :P But I'll definitely post a better story when I can remember one, or if I have one to share after this weekend.
Of course, I want all of my good friends to have a shot at this too n.n
You are welcome~ Kay! lmaoooo
Everything and everyone has been updated/gifted to this point

When I was a kid I got one of those fairy dancers for Christmas. You pulled the string and it would go flying across the room and eventually land on the ground. My mother kept insisting that I wasn't doing it correctly, so she took it from me to show us how to use it correctly. On her first try she sent my fairy dancer flying into one of her ornamental plates hanging on the wall and sent it crashing onto the ground. Ever since then we had to try out new toys in the kitchen/facing down the stairs :P
snuggles Thank you for pinging me, sweetling! And thank you for hosting, Tears!
My memory: This goes back to when my husband and I were just dating for a year and he had recently adopted two feral kittens into his home (they were born under the shed in his backyard). It was the first Christmas that we would actually get to spend together, so he decided to break out the tree and decorate it up all pretty for me <3 Well, with two 6-month old kittens, we didn't even get the tree 1/3rd of the way decorated before they were scaling the pole and perching among the boughs, happily knocking every shiny ornament off of the branches. But it wasn't long before they developed a strategy for this process...one would wait at the bottom while his brother climbed up to send ornaments bouncing down the tree, then they would both launch themselves at the scattering baubles and chase them around the living room! We even got pictures of their mischievous goings-on, which I will have to post once hubby wakes up :) Thankfully, they did not knock the tree down and have "matured" a little bit over the past few years...they are now 16.5 and 17 lb cats, after all! We actually tied the tree to the wall this year, just in case ;) Now, they seem to have settled for knocking ornaments off the lower branches and sending them careening across the living room floor :P Holidays with pets...they're always the best part!!!

When I was in high school, our dog Skippy had disappeared one summer day. Half a year later I was on a school trip and we were coming home on the bus on my birthday. Someone asked me what I want for my birthday, and I said I want to go home and see our dog sleeping on his spot in the entrance to the house. I came home, and there was Skippy! My dad, who was still healthy, had gone north a ways (about 40-60 minute drive) for a business transaction, and decided before he headed back, to stop at the beach. While walking near the water, he saw a brown spot on the horizon, whistled his loud whistle and called our dog's name, and Skippy came running! We never did figure out how he got there, we were just thrilled that he was found and back with us. :)
(thanks Tears!) (Thanks !) ( You were already mentioned) ( , you already posted, though I don't see your name mentioned)
Thank you for hosting, Tears! This is a nice giveaway. :) Hope you're enjoying the holidays!

My story:
This is more of a funny, embarrassing, "I should keep to myself" story rather than a heartwarming one, but sharing is caring so sharing I shall do. Well, a couple of years ago I was working at my summer job as a sports camp counselor for kids from 5-8 years old. There was this one boy who I'd taken care of for the past two or three summers already, and he was a little spitfire. So, one day out in the dodgeball courts, he challenged me to a race to see who was fastest. Me being a good 10 years older than him knew he stood no chance, so of course I accepted. We raced from one wall to the other about 5 times (me winning each time) but he continued to say it was a tie and wanted a rematch. So, finally we raced again, and as I reached out to touch the wall (mid-run, mind you) my arm locked and I fractured my elbow.
Long story short, I raced a seven year old and ended up with a cast for 4 weeks. All my ex-coworkers make fun of me to this day. But hey, it's a good opening story when I introduce myself!

My Story: I have 5 sisters, but my Dad was an electrical engineer so while we were never rich, we usually had enough. However, one year my Dad decided to go into business for himself and it happened to be right when the economy tanked. So I guess my parents were pretty broke and living off credit cards. I was 10 and didn't know any of this, just that we were eating a lot of hamburger helper and I couldn't buy many new clothes for school that year. It also happened to be the year I started to learn to play the guitar...
I was practicing on an old guitar that had belonged to my oldest sister. It was badly warped and didn't stay in tune, so I guess that was why she left it at home when she went to college. I wanted a new guitar for Christmas soooo badly, but my Dad said we couldn't afford it, and he was going to fix the old guitar for me. So he made a big deal about taking it down to the basement where heh ad a workshop and taking it apart, planing the neck, glueing it back together. I was devastated but didn't want my parents to feel bad, so I tried to act excited about it.
Christmas morning, I woke up and there under the tree was my beat up old guitar case with a big red bow on it. Everyone opened their presents and I just waited, trying not to cry. Finally my Mom asked me if I was going to open my gift. No way around it, I pulled the guitar out of the case and slowly opened it. Inside was... a brand new guitar!!!!! I was in shock. I remember one of my sisters asking "aren't you going to say anything?" I cried that morning and I am sitting here crying my eyes out now.
It wasn't a brand name, it wasn't even a name I heard of before or since. But it was handcrafted in Mexico and it's beautiful. My Dad went to every music store in our town to find the best-sounding guitar they could afford. He did a great job, the guitar has a beautiful tone to it. It's traveled all over with me and survived a lot. My ex punched a hole in it by mistake and it still sounds great! I have 3 other other guitars now, all of them Gibsons, but my favorite is still that guitar my parents gave me way back when. To this day, everytime I play it I hear pure love in every note.
Since then, I have gotten all sorts of amazing and expensive gifts for Christmas from my parents and others, but I have never had a better gift than that guitar!
EDIT: I was so caught up in my story, I posted too soon---I forgot to say, "Thank you Tears, for hosting this give away. I know it must take a lot of time and even more than the giveaway itself, I am so glad to read everyone's stories!!! Happy Holidays!"

When I was a little girl, my cousin and I decided to see what gifts my parents got for me. They were all locked in the trunk of the car since we had traveled a long way to see the family. We had this bright idea to unlock the trunk using a pair of scissors. The scissors broke off in the lock and I missed all my gifts until after the holiday. I think my Mom suspected what happened but never said a word about it.

I, um. Hm. I can't think of any funny or heartwarming personal stories. My life has been pretty lousy the last 8 or so years. I have to write something, though, so here goes. Exactly one year ago today, on 12/13/14, I found out I was expecting, after trying for over 7 years. I'll never be able to explain the sheer happiness and joy we felt. I wish I could relive that moment over and over again. I recorded the reveal to my hubby and his ecstatic reaction...I waited for him to get home from work, at like 1am. I'd been planning it for years, so I already had a plain white mug and had written the reveal in the bottom in Sharpie, and baked it to set the ink. He's British, and a HUGE tea-drinker, so I knew he'd want his nightly cup of tea, which I made for him and served in that mug. It took him awhile to get to it, and he realized something was up (although he never would have guessed what) with the cup and pretended I'd broken the tea bag and he couldn't finish it..little stinker. But he eventually finished it and the look of shock on his face was PRICELESS and immediately turned to extreeeeeme joy. It's better than any reveal video you've ever seen online. He was shocked, and literally bouncing around the house yelling. I can't show the video, though, because I'd forgotten to tell him to remain fully clothed for his surprise and he doesn't want to be seen in his skivvies lol. Unfortunately, there's not a happy ending to that story, so I'll leave it there. I'd still do it all over again a million times, though, for that moment.
