My story; HOO BOY. When I was five I didn't take any jokes. It was real bad around Christmastime because my mom liked to pull these prank gifts, signed from "Trick Claus." I got this decently-sized (but very heavy) box. I don't know what I thought it was. SOmething to do with a Barbie House, I guess. I opened the gift to find one lone brick sitting there. I was furious. The years after that, my mom left me out of getting tricked, but I got to help her set up tricks for my older sisters. One of my favorites including shredded paper in a pretty large box.
Thank You so very much for thinking of me for your Wonderfully Generous gift give away. :) But there are so many more out there that just can't afford such lovely items. I will let them have a chance and receiving them. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS :)

When I was sixteen, I got to spend the holidays with my best friends in the world at my boarding school for the first time. We sat in our crappy dorm rooms, ate fruit cake, and talked about the futures we all wanted to see. We've now spent the holidays together every year since.

Story: My male cat Stupsi which came to me in December 2014, two days before Christmas Eve. Probably he is born in 2010 and I know him since 4 years as street cat at my mother's house. We have a feeding station for the street cats at my mother's house. I only took him home to medicate his 3 weeks old wound, because it looks very bad. His wound was treated by a vet. But now he doesn't want to go outside anymore. So I think I'll put his birthday at Christmas Eve.

I once belonged to a "search and rescue team" that worked in the mountains. One day we got a call that a couple had gone up to the Cascade Mountains to camp and hadn't returned. It was June, and the weather had been nice and sunny. The couple had told they're friends that they were going to a specific area to go backpacking, but little to anyone's knowledge they changed their mind and went to a different area. They left their car and went backpacking off towards a campsite. About an hour after they left they're car, a freak snow storm came rumbling in! Set only for summer camping, they hurried back to they're car as quick as they could, with snow swirling around them on all sides, but it was too late. The cars wheels were buried and they couldn't get out. As the next few days went by, the storm kept raging and the snow kept falling. Luckily, the couple were smart. They stayed with their car and didn't try to walk out. It snowed so much, their car was 2-3 feet under the snow. Every morning they dug the snow away so they could stay in the car to keep dry. They used they're sleeping bags to stay warm.
Meanwhile, the couple's friends called the sheriff when they didn't return after the weekend. He in turn, contacted us and we headed up. Our team and other teams were split up and assigned to different areas to search. My group gathered up our cross country skis and gear and got on a Snowcat (a large vehicle made to travel on snow) and headed to our area. About 30 minutes later, as the Snowcat traveled up the road through the storm, we suddenly saw two people pop out of the snow! Never had I seen two people more happy to see someone in my life! They were saved! Luckily we found them when we did because they were just about out of food and they were thinking about trying to walk out.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Story: When my brother and I were really young, our family would spend Christmas with my dad's parents. Every Christmas eve my Grandpa would take a Santa face that was on a stick and walk around outside, so we couldn't see him, but saw the the Santa face! Talk about torture! :-D

My story: I remember when I was really little my sister and I would stay awake in bed trying to guess what gifts we were going to get from Santa. We would fall asleep after we had exhausted ourselves from our excitement.
Last year was really fun because I got to see my cousins and all of their kids. It was fun watching them open their presents and play together. One of my cousins gave his nephew a drum set that probably only lasted an hour. I'm sure his brother will get his revenge this year though. :) The year before that my uncle brought two guitars that he had built for the kids to play with. This year will be even better because the younger ones are up on their feet running around, so that will make five kids under the age of six. I can't wait!

Ok so as for funny stories, I've got one! I'm not sure if you're familiar with the voice feature on a lot of newer cars nowadays? Pretty much you can tell your car to call someone, or to play a certain song if it's on your ipod (which would be hooked up to the car via bluetooth). Basically it seems like a really neat feature! Until you realize that the car is an idiot and doesn't understand half of what you say...ever. Ever ever. So, I have a tradition with my dad that he and I (and sometimes my brother) would go get hot chocolate, and then drive around our city and the neighboring areas around christmas, and just check out all of the lights. It's always a good time, and yay, hot chocolate! So, my dad was telling the car to play a certain christmas song, I can't remember what. But every time, it would misunderstand him, to the point of absurdity. So, exasperated, my dad shouted "You're an idiot, aren't you?!" And then it said: "Now playing; Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin" We were in absolute tears we were laughing so hard. At least it got something right!

Story: A few years ago (I would have been around 11, so a decade ago actually!) my family moved to a new country around Christmas. We spent pretty much the entirety of Christmas day setting up Ikea furniture and moving our other furniture around the house. x) It was pretty amusing at the time and ended up being a lot of fun! Plus we had our beds set up by the end of the day so it ended well.

story: I remember a LONG time ago when I was about 6 or 7 my dad and mom said they were gonna catch Santa on tape for us to see him!!! I couldn't sleep all night I was SO excited! The next morning my mom pulled out the video camera and showed us (who obviously was my dad with a pillow stuffed inside a Santa suit xD walking around with his toy sack full of goodies putting down the presents) ! I remember being SO excited that I knocked over my moms drink in her lap!! LOL! But I was so excited and went on to tell my friends that Santa was real because I saw him!!!! AND THAT THERE WAS NO WAY IT COULD BE MY DAD!! LMAO!!
It was so cute of them! <3 I want to do the same for my future kids one day! ^-^

Story: This actually wasn't a one-time occurrence but every Christmas when I was growing up, my dad's side of the family would get together at my grandmother's house. Now, keep in mind that my grandmother's house could probably hold like 7 people comfortably at the dining tables (we had two usually). So, when Christmas was approaching, my parents would begin the preparations on their portion of food --cause my grandma would not be able to cook all the food needed -- so each sibling (there were 5 total kids) in my dad's family usually had some food group/item to prepare and bring with them. And this preparation stage would take almost all day long just to get the portion of food assigned ready in time. Alright, so we got all this food and we load it up and bring it over to my grandma's. And you know, at first, there's a few of my cousins trickling in with their families and slowly over the course of 30-45 minutes or so, we had a house full. The thing is, when you're like 8 or 9 you don't really realize how many people are around you. I knew there were a lot of my family in that tiny packed house but it was not until recently that I actually sat down and counted out all the people who came and went during that time. Thirty-five was my best estimate. Thirty-five people in a house that could barely reasonably fit SEVEN. How my grandmother kept her sanity over the years I'll never know.
What a lovely giveaway, super thoughtful AND holiday inspirational, thank you!

Christmas day a few years back the husband and i returned from visiting my parents to the house we share with my mother in law. She's upset and panicky when we get home, because the back door somehow came ajar and one of our two indoor cats, Max the Mighty Meeperbiscuit had gotten out and wasn't responding to any calls. We spent HOURS trying to hunt him down, crawling under the front, side and back porches, out in the garage and shed and barn, along the woodline and under the pine trees in the backyard. Finally the husband decides to go drive up and down the road and see if he'd gotten that far. We live out in the country and some people are terrible and will deliberately swerve to hit any animal they see along the road, we feared that might have happened to Max. An hour later he and MomJ return with a tiny white kitten. They had spotted her along the roadside and she had politely waited for them to park and pick her up, no speck of dirt, no fleas or mites, obviously hand socialized and familiar with people. The other two cats that had been with her bolted for the forest but she was ready to get off the road and back into civilization. As best we could figure she and the other two must have been abandoned on Christmas day. We named her Noel and she settled right in with the family.
As for Max...fast forward a few hours, coyotes are howling in the woodline and a blizzard is rolling in and i'm out there with a flashlight, still calling for him. I head back up to the front porch and catch a flash of green eye reflection and there he was, the little goober had circled back around and was hiding in a box on the porch (which had been the very first place we'd looked for him!) but I was so relieved I couldn't be mad. He wasn't thrilled about getting a new little sister at the time but he cuddles with her now.

A stand-out memory for me was from that age when I was starting to question the existence of Santa Claus (around 8-10 or so). Every year on Christmas Eve we visit my grandparents in the next state over. I talked the whole way down about how I didn't think Santa was real, yadda yadda. But when we came back home several hours later (real close to midnight, I'd say), Santa had come and dropped off my presents. I speculated some neighbors were involved, but there was an entire BICYCLE in the living room by the tree. And the ground outside, dusted in snow, bore no tracks. I spent years trying to solve this mystery. Years, I tell you. But, for a while there, I believed in magic.

Sotry- Since I have no problem making a fool of myself I'll tell you a funny Halloween story. When I was eight my family, which included my best friend(still my best friend even after all these years), went to the local zoo that was having a horror house thing going on throughout the zoo. I was terrified is the simple answer and wanted to get the freak out of there. Finally we get to the end and we go to this guy dressed as a vampire who is totally into it, saying I'll suck your blood and stuff like that. I think I was looker paler than normal so my best friend told him to just give me the candy cause I was scared and he totally did with this whipped look on his face. Cause he was just served by an eight year old. ^_^ I'm still scared of horror stuff. My roommates and I went to a local theme park that does Halloween and I learned that I will apologize to scary men with chainsaws who corner me
