Something You'd Love to See - I know it's not super realistic because of how the legacy coliseum is, but it would be nice if unlocked challengers were greyed out (but visible) so we can easily see at a glance if we missed to unlock anything. Sometimes I forget to buy CSC challengers on release, so being able to tell quickly what I missed would be super handy <3

There's just too much history here to really pick just one - so instead I'll bring up the memory that occurs to me most often. Back in ye olde days, when Keith was really starting to implement ways to let us customize our experiences. Before we could do too much to our profiles, before we had all our nice little widgets - I logged on one day to find my profile had become a guinea pig.

A video had been embedded in my profile, and I had no way to change it. It auto played any time you went there. Users were commenting asking me how I managed to have a video on my profile, and when I explained that Keith was having a bit of mischief, a few very sweet users asked if Keith was bullying me, which was very kind of them but he definitely was not. It was shenanigans done entirely in good fun.

Three videos cycled through on Keith's whim - and well over a decade later, if someone says "eggs" (Or shoes, or a secret third option), in the right tone of voice, it awakens the echolalia sleeper agent and I do play the whole song in my head. It was a silly, and truly unforgettable time for me, haha.

Something I'd Love to See

I would really love to see an NPC (Alexander, probably) set up an archive where folks could click through the old plots. Not summaries on the subetapedia, or outside sources, but a dedicated place where one could experience the plots again, mostly as they were.

Some things would have to be removed - a hand wave instead of waiting a bit of time. A short explanation instead of going to play a game, since I think it would be a bit too much to have all of the same interactivity available - but I think it would be really nice to be able to have the art and writing that was done for those events still be showcased and used. To read the conversations as they happened, and see things fall step by step.

That SEEMS like something that could be achieved and rolled out over time to me, though I have no idea of what really goes on in the frightening battlefield that is the coding of subeta.

There's so much joy, and pride and history with subeta. Twenty one years is an awful lot of lovely memories to try and pick from. (More than twenty-one, actually. Everyone scrambling to set up their accounts and pet names again when the site was made fresh is one of those fun, memories in and of itself.) I learned so much and grew so much from those early days here, when subeta was finding it's footing. It's wild to look back at two+ decades! At the end of the day, subeta still seems exactly as it always has been. A community helmed by people who care about making things better. There have been ups and down and steps forward and back, but the overall trajectory has been the same. Uncountable changes, big and small, done thoughtfully, for the sake of the website and the people who use it.

My favourite memory is seeing the site develop and mature, and getting utterly hooked on playing Subeta of course!

Of course working on my pet profiles has to be in there as well (and playing with coding / tweaking my customCSS.... which seemed remarkable to start with, that we were allowed to tweak things so the site layout / colours etc worked well for us personally!), plus making friends here as well as the friends that 'jumped ship' from elsewhere and came with me laughs

And for wearable items, I know we have the wearable manual wheelchairs, but I would love to see a wearable powerchair (again, I know that would be a challenge given the HA would have their arms on the armrests rather than down towards the wheels like the existing chair style)

A preview for Kumos forums (pretty please!!!!), as I have no idea how the formatting will end up looking without that!

Also, I'd just like to see Subeta lasting another 21 years!

More than a decade ago, I made a friend on here that I would write long comments to everyday, and she back. I don't click with people very often, especially in real life, so it was wonderful to have such a friendship that was so on the same page. I felt I was able to be myself (Sherlock Holmes) when talking with her. We had a lot of fun together! We were so cool! B) I still look back on it fondly, and hope she is doing well, wherever she is!

I'd love to see bank interest come back, but I understand that it causes inflation :(( I've also been more than interested in seeing more things to do in Shengui Guo - so many places on the map seem clickable but just aren't :P

Nothing bests remembering my departure from that other toxic pet site, finding the warmth and agreeability of Subeta... and bringing my best friend with me.

But I doubt that is what you are wanting to hear. Aside from plots, which is the clear winner here, my favorite memory was when Charity made an unexpected visit to a forum thread I was frequenting because a little bit of kindness had been posted. To this day, I don't know how or why that happened, but it is a moment I treasure in my heart.

As for what I would like to see... I am a graphics lover. I am interested in more emojis, frames, badges, colors... ways to make my posts unique and beautiful on the forums. Perhaps something to strive for?

I must give you credit for the Melody of years past. On days when she released a new item, it truly made for the best Luminaire yet.

1. One of my early years, I participated heavily in a trick or treat forum contest, I think. I was so excited to win a couple of prizes (not sure they were even big things - maybe a bit of CSC, a beanbag, some tokens). I worked hard to get second place in that contest, and it really solidified the excitement of a Subeta event for me.
2. One time I got a really good deal on a nice wig (it was teal, orange, and pink, maybe?). I immediately made an outfit with it, because I could picture a background I hard recently gotten that matched the colours perfectly. I was really proud of it! Then someone pinged me in the thread for random outfit shout-outs, and I felt so flattered and excited that other people also loved what I had made :) I think that really made me feel the sense of community on the forums and the site in general, even if I didn't generally interact with those users, or that part of the forums.

This is not an ask for me, but I wish for the kumos code to be very accessible for assistive technology. This is something I work on professionally, and do a lot of research on, so it's a cause I care about a lot. I once read someone's post where they explained that Subeta was the only pet site they still played/still could play, due to it's decent accessibility. And I remember seeing someone's post more recently saying that Kumos needed a lot of work in that area. So please consider it when building the new site - it can be much harder to add it in afterwards than to work with best practices from the beginning.

I love Subeta, and I'm very excited to see where we go from here :)

A Memory - My favorite memory was booming giveaways and contests in the forums on one particular year. I loved the community and at the time had a contest myself which the prize was having someone's art of an OC character I created become a tattoo. The responses and freedom for people to talk and share thoughts and art was such an amazing feeling.

Something I'd love to see is a new pet color called plague - and it's basically the pets with various diseases or maybe a color call phobia which dipicts the pets as certain phobias...etc like its open for creativity but would be really cool to see.

My favorite Subeta memory is of the time back during Survival in 2018 the active members of NVLB (No Victim Left Behind) all created silly matching Fevermore HAs as if we were in a band called 21 Pylots. Fevermore is also such an incredibly ~ metal ~ strain and I had a lot of fun watching the transformation and making dark jokes about it with everyone else. I have to praise especially for creating NVLB and staying dedicated to it as it has made my favorite site event even more enjoyable for so many years. Subeta's community after all is a big reason I keep coming back even after so many long breaks and hiatuses.

Something I've wanted to suggest for a long time is to make more "furniture" items wearable. Since we don't have any kinds of virtual houses to decorate (it's understandable that'd probably be very difficult to implement with Subeta's resources), I think the next best thing would be to be able to mix and match different items so we can create more unique "rooms" for our HAs. If I'm allowed to make a second suggestion, I would also like if we could access different Survival strain stages as skins if we've unlocked the full strain, I suppose for a high amount of sP or some CSC. That way folks would still be motivated to fully participate in Survival and customize fun HAs as they transform but the lovely intermediate stage art would see more use.

brought me over here from the dreaded neo. The first subeta "resident" I met was Thynk, she was very nice to me. Then I met and her forum crowd and have stayed in touch with many of them ever since. Shortly after I found subeta years ago there was a meet up in California that I so wanted to attend! 3 years ago I did get to California and met up with a player from here! We had a great time! I have exchanged numbers with some people here and just love that they became 3 dimensional for me, and others who are somehow real to me even though we have never met. I love this site and wish I could spend more time here these days.

Making NVLB! I was relatively quiet on Subeta before then but I always loved Survival, so when I noticed maybe a biting directory yet, I decided to make it and it really blew up! NVLB has been alive and kicking since 2018. I still have the first directory saved on my computer from when I manually updated the OP to add and remove people instead of just having people join and leave a group as they pleased.

How do I bribe Keith to move stickers to Kumos? The click and drag as the only way to organize stickers is a nightmare. I could spend hours organizing my stickers if it was actually feasible.

Oh dear I'd written up a whole thing about how much I enjoyed interactive plots back in the day (collecting all those papers and trying to figure out the murder mystery is the one that really stands out to me, with probably the Saheric puzzles as a VERY close second), finally beating Mama Slush! and doing HA doodles for people during events.... and then I forgot to submit I guess? Or I can't find it. In any case I have been around for "20 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, 6 days" so nearly the whole run, even if I've mostly kept to myself, and as long as here is here, so will I be, I think. Subeta is where I made the name Lexigraph, which is tied irrevocably to who I am as a person now, after all.

And for deep nostalgia, I'll just put up one of my very first HAs... ! image
