My Subeta Memory

I joined with my boyfriend in 2022 or 2023, I think and we have loved it. We grew up on sites like Neopets and Gaia online but this is for adults by adults and we have made friends. We love being able to dress up our avatars and do the little events. They've become tradition.

Something I'd Love to See

More lore about characters and the world would be cool. Maybe learning stuff about each of the quest givers after questing? Maybe more chances to earn CSC instead of just buying it for those who struggle with finances. I know there are morty cards which give CSC for quests and such, but just more opportunities? Or things like this! This is a really cool and awesome idea and you should do these more often! :)

I am relatively new to Subeta, and honestly I'm just starting to get back into pet games after having not played them for years and years. But a friend of mine had recently helped me get back into Neopets, and when we were talking about the things I liked and disliked about the site, I said, "I just wish they had some kind of sheep neopet, you know?" Since I associate myself with sheep, I wanted a pet to represent me and the closest I could get to was a gnorbu. Immediately, my friend showed me Subeta and the sweetheart devonti, and I absolutely fell in love on sight. I immediately jumped over and made an account, and my friend helped me get a sweetheart devonti relatively quickly. ૮꒰ྀི∩´ ᵕ ∩꒱ྀིა Since joining I've really loved Subeta and have enjoyed everything I've been able to do here. I'm really glad I did finally come join.

Something I'd Love to See

Personally, the only thing I've really been consistently wanting is some updates to the SubetaPedia. I have had a really fun time just going through there and learning about the characters and the lore of the site, and it's been really cool reading more about the pets that are available. Obviously it would be great to be able to read more about the pet that started my journey here, sksksk, but I just enjoy reading about the world in general, so any kind of update to that section of the site would be tremendous for me. ૮꒰◞ ˕ ◟ ྀི꒱ა

I’ve been here for almost 16 years—not always active, I have to admit, but always coming back!

My favorite memories are mostly related to the plots (especially the Atebus and Shadowglen Underground ones). I was pretty shy, and those plots pushed me to be more social, which was incredibly helpful and allowed me to meet wonderful people.

Another thing I truly treasure (even if it’s not a single memory) is the community. All the kindness, generosity, fun times we share, and the care and love poured into this site are really special to me. When life gets tough, I know this is a place where I can find hope and peace, and I’m really grateful for it.

I'm playing here for more than 19 years...i can't believe it...i don't remember why i started it...maybe the colourful pets? Maybe the games and events? Don't know...but i still find myself enjoying going around the site and i really love now and then to look at my avatar or to my reborn Kumos. It's really the most beautiful one that i have! But maybe the thing that i really find surprising it's the generosity of the users that i come to meet here, during events or similar...i have 2 or 3 friends that every event we get in touch maybe just to exchange some messages on the forum, giving each other items...but yeah, i couldn't imagine something like that from total stranger before being coming to play on subeta.

I remember making a "male HA project" thread, on the forums, with continuing examples of masculine body setting with changing fashion choices. Turns out this was a little devisive in the comments and replies, but it was a fun experiment with what we all see as gendered clothing and style!

What about a "Recycled" / "Junk" pet color? Where the shape of the pet is made up of bits if recycling or trash, like cardboard tubes, boxes, bottles, etc...

I loved logging in daily, checking on my pets, chatting on the forums, and slowly working toward goals that took patience instead of pressure. There was something incredibly comforting about saving up for that one item, training pets bit by bit, or participating in events that brought everyone together. The seasonal festivals, plot speculation, and late-night forum conversations made the site feel less like a game and more like a community.

Something I'd Love to See

I would love to see a Battle Milestone Badges or Trophys that could be displayed on your profile page. Something that would provide a fun “look what I’ve accomplished” element—without needing a full battle system rework. Or possibly plots that that would unlock challengers.

My Subeta Memory

I stumbled into subeta in my early 20s. I was a bit lost, had never used the internet for anything but work, but desperately needed an escape and a place to connect on a whimsical level. Some of my favorite memories were connecting with my first subeta friend, ! I also found two other buddies to navigate events wtih, and . We still run the group that we started as a result together!

I absolutely loved the wonder and craziness of some of the events that were pulled off over the years. The Cruise was such a hoot. And user run RPG, Wayward Squirrel and Nutsy by will live fondly in my heart forever.

Thanks to that, I not only found friends, but a group of people who have become the family I didn't have. We talk daily outside of subeta, and have weathered so many things. Losses, and babies born, and every day craziness. We made a fake Subeta-adjacent "newspaper" for our friends and for the site. SO many screenshots, reports of events, and playful banter that make me cry reading back. Some of those lovely souls have passed on and they are dearly missed.

So all these are my favorite memories.

Something I'd Love to See

I have no idea if this is achievable, but the ability to search wishlists against items I own during lumi gave me hope! As an long time player, I have a lot of treasures stashed. I'd love to be able to pull up what someone's wishes are against things I own for easier sharing. Sharing is probably my FAVORITE part of subeta, aside from the lovely people who "live" here. I know this broke the site back in the day, but maybe with the new code, it's not quite as much of a stretch for this to be a thing again.

Oh my gosh, . This site pulled me through some pretty rough times. I'm so grateful that a little place of pixels has been around for 21 years. I hope that, even if it is a little different as life changes, it will remain a gathering place for a long time to come.

i have super fond memories of experiencing plots and different seasonal events for the very first time. it took me a loooong time to get comfortable with posting on the forums in order to participate properly, but i'll never forget the first time i got infected... it was with baker's kiss and i was so scared that my HA would look like that forever :')

i'm a sucker for more achievements. i'm not the best at collecting wardrobe items, but i love the challenge of hunting down food and books! i love that adding stickers to your stickerbook is traditionally more of a collaborative effort, but it'd be cool to see a feature that allows us to stick ourselves.

I always loved finding rare color pets in the adoption center back at a high peak of subeta players! That's where I got my glade tutani! It was so cool to be like "woah a super rare color!!!!!" and I remember thinking "Neopets could never" haha. I've always loved the art a lot too and seeing it progress over the years has been amazing.

Putting together the graphics for my profile was crazy fun too!!! That was a little more removed from Subeta as I was looking for cute pixel stuff on sites like tumblr, but with the express purpose of putting together a super cute profile for subeta!

My internet best friend brought me here, I had no idea it even existed. Then all of my other friends from Neo were here too and it was just great starting out! I remember the first time I started playing Item Hunt and was showered with so much sP I didn't know where to start buying first hahaha

I really wish I could see how many of each Quest I have done and maybe see the Quest Achievement Levels raised, maybe a bunch of other Achievement Levels raised, too. But definitely NOT the Snowtapult Achievemenet Level of 30,000 snowballs LOL

I am so addicted to this game and have been for many many years. Thank you so much to everyone that keeps it running as you have assisted in my sanity for the last 18+!

I've never been terribly active here on Subeta. I have vague memories of the wardrobe being run by Pumpkin or something, and that was what I mainly used the site for. Then I started becoming a little more active a few years ago mostly during Survival and other holidays and have been surprised by the amount of random gifts I get from users I've never even talked to. It's really nice to see the sense of community here!

The ability to sort the wardrobe by color. I REALLY miss that feature.

imho the biggest one for me was when I had probably the worst birthday of my life where I was left at a convention by a friend over an hour's drive from home at 2 AM... despite texting them multiple times throughout the day. I came on here the next day and got nothing but kindness, sympathy, understanding and gifts.

My favorite memory is from one Lumiare, or, I guess, several in a row. A group of us were gifted by two anonmyous gifters, who called themselves Damien and Alexander. One was a prince, once was a knight. I don't remember if it was me or someone else who made the original forum thread thanking them, but we started posting about the gifts we got - well, mainly the mesages between them that they left for each other! They built this whole lore and we started becoming friends. We had a separate forum thread by the end where we'd talk all the time. It slowly died off, and the two anonymous gifters revealed themselves, but it was such a wonderful time that I wouldn't trade for anything.

I'd love to see a book drive, a la the original book drive! One where ANY book is fair game, as long as you haven't donated it before, not just the non-restockable ones. That was so fun!! And a good way to get all those common books out of circulation.

I've been here for almost 19 years, and I've loved every one of them. My favorites though have been the last two, the time period where I finally braved socializing and began to meet some absolutely lovely people who share my passion for pets and who absolutely make this community and my time here shine.

My first Survival! I got Butterfly Bruise and loved watching the stages. I remember being in my high school computer class and checking on it constantly <3 I kept the virus all the way until skins became removable!

The accomplishment from figuring out and completing the plot games from the Steele Excavations plot. The whole site was actively working together, engaging, and having fun to a shared goal.

Peeka Boo to be added to the Antique Shop, please! I missed this plot and there are plushies like the Street Team set that have been locked behind the event for the last decade. They've never been dropped to the antique store, and no way to complete the plushie collector achievement as a result.

I'd also love to see an updated Reading Drive come back, or mini collections / achievements for certian book series like Bumbles, etc. I miss achievements. since they highlighted things to strive for on the site.

I suggested a long time ago if we could revamp Blue Food Tubby and others into openable items that give random event food from years past (as in they were saved in the fridge!). There's so much food that only came out from events (seasonable, plot, etc), and it would be nice to have them become a usable item that helps people get their hands on older food! I would still love to see this happen.

My first plot! It was the Steele Excavations plot which was SO fun. I specially remember being super alert to the news because each time a new puzzle room was released, there were achievements for the first 100 to solve them, and after failing many times I finally got one of those with the sliding puzzle room, I felt on top of the world.

Throwback Thursday challengers with old loot and plot items! 21 years is a lot, and there are items and weapons that are virtually impossible to get. Exclusivity is fun for very few people only, make it fun for many more 😉

I can't believe at the end of this month I will have been on Subeta for 17 YEARS!!!! WOW! I have not been as active in the last couple years as I have in the past, but I have had some great times here. My favorite thing about the site is the community. I have made some lifelong friendships ! I love all my friends here and we have had some wonderful conversations, been here to support each other through hard times, celebrated our similarities, and so much more.

Site wide, I think Luminaire will always be one of my favorite holidays, although I really enjoyed the Islander events when we used to have them. I loved choosing a side (Islander or pirate) and doing team activities. I wish those would come back instead of only having Freyalise once a year. Also, I love searching the pumpkin patch and doing trick or treat. All the Subeta holidays are fun, dressing up, participating with friends... etc. The community aspect is the best.

Something I'd Love to See

Scavenger hunt activities, maybe once a month. Maybe a rare plushie or beanbag as a prize. Also, maybe chances to get retired pieces of Subetique items.

I also would love to see some of the older events return like Epicon, the great dig event, the great Masquerade murder mystery, and other holiday plots. Those were some of my favorite things to participate in and receiving items that were only obtainable by oarticipating in the event, plus gaining new achievements, was so much fun.

Oh god. I've been here so long. There's too many. I have some vague pleasant memories of being with the Neocolours crew, but I was also a teenager so it's debatable if I was actually hanging with them as opposed to being a hanger-on LMAO. I really liked the shadowglen plot involving the Dungarde.

In terms of Kumos though, I dunno how doable this is but having custom css for the layout again would be cool as hell - this is one of the last little corners of the "customizeable internet" (that and tumblr). I also don't recall your plans for user profiles, but I would appreciate those also staying customizeable too.

It is absolutely (redacted)ing crazy that we're still here! This is one last patch of the Older Internet that I grew up with, and it's really cool seeing it still going, even if slowly.
