The "tentative" list was only emailed out this morning. I didn't even see it at first, the other para came in and asked if I'd noticed we weren't listed and I was like, what are you talking about?

I have two thoughts in my head - one, he may switch me to the other preK teacher, (and switch that para to the class i'm in or switch us both elsewhere) OR two, there was talk about 3 year old classrooms way back at the beginning of the year (they did a parent/teacher interest survey and stated they planned to begin it the fall of this upcoming school year, it was a system-wide survey, not just our school) - so the OR is that maybe he plans to put me (or her) into the 3 year old classroom IF we are getting one? I don't even know if we ARE getting one (or even if they really ARE doing it at all), because like 3-4 years ago they talked about giving our school a third PreK classroom, two years in a row (but didn't) - so who knows!!! He does know I am in school (college) for Birth-Kindergarten, but he also knows I have 2 more years before I can teach (well at least 1, sometimes they hire a senior who has to do their student teaching as the teacher, but not often). OF course my mind also went to worst case scenario (OH MY GOD I'M BEING FIRED) but I really don't think that is it.

Kat, I don't think you're being fired. I think he just forgot to put you on there. It's good you've asked about it. :)

haha no I didn't ask yet. I will if it doesn't change or if he doesn't talk to me by the end of the year. (two more weeeeeeeeeks for kids - three for us adults) I don't think I'm being fired either, but you know how minds are, they go to worst case scenarios LOL

I also don't think he FORGOT to put us on there however, as every other para in the building was listed. (We have kinder paras, as well as some sped paras)

Kat, 2 weeks-3weeks is a long time to wonder about your status. What if, just for example, they are letting you go because of undisclosed reasons. Wouldn't you want as much time as possible to find another place to work? I'm not trying to alarm you but if you're not on there and he didn't forget you, what's left? :D

While that I true, I really don't think I am being fired. I have done nothing to warrant that. I think he wants to move us around and isn't sure how yet. (And he cannot move us to a lower paid position w/o our permission, and all other para positions are lower paid due to working fewer days and less hours per day). Also, due to the nature of the way our paychecks work, I would have at least the summer months to get another position/job because if I work my 190 days (last day of May is 190 days) then I am owed my $. We get our 190 days of work divided into 12 months of paychecks, and I think the cycle starts in August, because any yearly raises in the past have begun on September's paycheck.

I will admit there could be a small possibility of he "forgot" I just don't really see that tho. I mean, if you wrote everyone else's name, why would you forget two?

edit: and to be quite honest, I am non-confrontational. It freaks me out to think about going to talk to him. It freaks me out to think about the possibility of me being fired too and honestly for that, I think I would rather not know until the last day of work because KNOWING I was losing my job while still working it would be hell.

Maybe just send an email Kat? That'd kind of get the issue in front of him and let him know you guys noticed, and you won't have to face to face with him.

Yeah. I dunno. I might. I noticed this morning when I looked at it again (why did I look at it again? I don't know) that Ms Brazier, a sub I know who was hired and approved to work as a para in 3rd grade, sped - was not listed either. hmm. See this makes me wonder, is he going to try to move me or Ms Price (the other PreK Para) to the 3rd grade sped and Ms Brazier to PreK? Since he had that lovely conversation with Ms. Price about "maybe you shouldn't be in PreK" AND asked her if she would be interested in Sped (and no, neither of us is interested in Sped) :P I swear that is his go-to. Drives me nuts. NO! We are fine in our grade level, it is the children and their parents and the fact that admin doesn't HELP us with the issues properly (as was VERY MUCH noticed this year with the one child)

ANYYYYYWAY moving on. I was looking for info on what I needed to submit to continue getting the DECAL scholarship, found it, only need 1 more piece, which I probably won't get until closer to Fall Semester (August). I did see that I have been registered for all my classes, even tho the paperwork I tried to submit didn't go thru and the email I sent regarding it didn't get answered.... I do still have to get the Anthology Portfolio and I have to figure out how, because when I looked earlier this semester it wanted me to NOT use the bear book bundle to get it - fine, but if I opt out of that to get the portfolio, how do I get the rest of my textbooks? My advisor is my teacher on two of my classes next semester, that will be interesting (I knew she would teach some of the classes, she told us she did).

I am scheduled for: Inquiry-based Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers, Learning Through Play and Exploration, and Child Development Pre-Practicum (Age B-2) for Aug-Oct and then for Characteristics of Typical and Atypical Child and Emergent Literacy in Young Children for Oct-Dec.

From what I can tell, one class each 8 weeks is online zoom meetings only (Wednesdays) and the other is Blended (Mondays)- so sometimes I'll be in Zoom, sometimes on campus. The Pre-Practicum is "field-based" meaning in my classroom. Supposedly. But I'm not in B-2yr old classroom but she said something about videos when I talked to her in Dec? I don't remember. I wrote that down tho lol I also thought the Practicum was supposed to be 16 weeks, but it is only showing on the schedule for 8 weeks (and only 1hr credit, not 3...so maybe thats why?)

I also noticed that my financial aid said I had a "credit balance" of over 3k...I had to click around a lot but finally was able to see that they applied PELL grant and Student Loan for SUMMER SEMESTER on my account. I am NOT ENROLLED for summer eyeroll I guess that will just disappear when I don't enroll in classes?

That sounds like there's a real administration problem!

Especially because.. some people LOVE the age groups they're teaching! Just because one child is being.. not even objectively, awful, doesn't mean that they should move. That means that admin should HELP THEM.

Right? Admin is annoying. I like him personally, but he is NOT doing what he needs to do, I don't know if he is afraid of this parent, if they have something over him, or if he just doesn't want to aggravate ANY parents (because he likes being seen as the its all good happy principle or what!!) But like, not even two weeks ago he told the other PreK teachers that he COULD NOT (???? not would not, COULD not?) send this child home any more at all this year - a few days ago, the child had done something (he's done a LOT of somethings lately) and ended up in the principal's office AGAIN and then ran away from the principle after making a giant mess in his office - guess who got sent home? sigh (so in other words, if you annoy your teacher, or hurt kids you get to stay at school but if you annoy the principal and throw things around in his office, you get to go home?)

its almost enough to make me want to go to a different school to see if a different principal would be better or worse. He has like 6 more years before he retires.

Today I've been shopping and cleaning. I bought Grace some gifts today too - since Shane and Anna are coming for Nathans graduation. I refuse to by a $15 onsie that the kid will outgrow in a month just because it says "my daddy is a trucker" :P So I refuse to buy anything from the baby registry. Becuase its mostly stuff like that or big stuff like stroller/car seat which most of that they've already been gifted. But - I got two cute little outfit, one a pantsuit (one piece) and one a dress w/ a little jacket - they match, the pattern on the cloth of the pantsuit and dress. I also got some recieving blankets and bedsheets that match, and a little teddy bear holding a blanket.

AND I picked up two more things for Nathan hahaha since I got him that unicorn plush - I was in the baby aisle and saw a unicorn rubber duck and for some reason he's got a buncha rubber ducks in his bedroom so I got him the unicorn duck. AND then in the checkout I saw unicorn gummies and I said WTH why not :P SO I got those too LOL I guess Nathan is my unicorn child (unicorns and rainbows, right? Why not...)

Rubber ducks are very in! Iz picked out a unicorn rubber duck from the library prize box for Emery (her cousin) a few weeks ago. And gummies are always fun! I like unicorns and rainbows, too :P

We've.. done not much of anything today, and I think that trend is going to continue :P We had waffles iwth strawberries and bananas and whipped cream for breakfast (OK, well, Iz, Alex and I did! El had a waffle at 11:30 when they woke up :P).

We're having cheesesteaks and whiskey butter green beans for dinner. That's.. that's basically it :P

We did a BUNCH of stuff around the house and yard yesterday though, and we made dinner ofc! Did I ever end up telling you guys our menu?

We started off with spinach artichoke crostinis and butter poached argentian red shrimp (really lobstery shrimps!), and then for dinner we had crab stuffed flounder, roasted asparagus, and salt potatoes (dipped in the shrimp butter!). And citrus creme brulee for dessert. And Wink and El made devilled eggs too, and Anth and Wink made a lemon pound cake.

It was a good time, actually! We made almost everything at home, so all we needed there was a pot to boil the potatoes, a pot for the shrimp/butter, and an extra sheet pan because we had to do the asparagus there, so we used one of ours from the crostinis and one of hers for the asparagus. So we even brought most of the dirty dishes home with us so she didn't have to wash them haha.

And we brought a bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine, and Lynne had bought a bottle of wine and a bottle of prosecco haha. So it was really a party :P

You make me want to come to your house to try all that stuff out!! I don't think I could ever make it, but it sounds good!! I had a raspberry breakfast bar thing to eat for breakfast. Nathan is going to DQ to get lunch. And then I am making him cook us dinner - beef ribs, corn on the cob, potatoes. I might make biscuits inside. He has NOT said anything about Mothers Day to me :( Anna is the only one who has!! Gotta love my kids sigh I know Katie will say something later, I expect she is still asleep because she probably worked late last night.

I did buy a mini (can be microwaved or oven baked) Duncan Hines cake mix thing. And a brownie mix thing. They were about as cheap as buying a box cake mix and frosting (each). But its smaller so we will eat it all! Happy but not happy? LOL Like I know I can get more for my money, but I won't be wasting cake!

I am not really sure Nathan likes unicorns OR rainbows lol but...he did get big into the whole "rainbow" thing for Pride and all that, he picked out for himself a rainbow unicorn Christmas ornament and a rainbow tree ornament for two years in a row (I picked out this years instead - he got a gaming controller lol) - so I think he will be OK with the unicorns.

Oh I also shampooed the carpet today The dog has been sick or something, so bile and pee on the floor all week. Not sure what is wrong with her except old age She isn't eating, has lost weight and is barely drinking and stumbling around Like my other poor dog did when she got too old and we had to put her down ☹️

As for books I read young Adult fantasy fiction, dragons, witches, Vampires end Faries ect I like Chandelle LaVaun and Megan Montero both excellent young adult Authors check out their books youll be hooked. :P

Last time I called around to the vets, they had no appointments available for weeks :( And the animal hospital, that you can walk into - costs like $200 just to walk in!! No treatment or anything. I'm most likely going to just have to put her down, so I might call up my favorite vet and ask about that, and then I guess either take half a day off (last time I called them, their short notice had to be done before 2pm!) or maybe get Nathan to do it, tho I hate to put that on him....

Oh man Kat, that's crazy. :( Yeah, I don't blame you for not wanting Nathan to do that alone, it's so hard.
