Hey guys, Iv'e not got a garden Ive just got a piece of concrete with a load of bushes and blackberry bushes growing all over it then you step off the concrete into the jungle that is my garden (I'm sure Iv'e seen lions and tigers) out there because it s so wild :P LOL with bushes and brambles everywhere on the grass and trees as well and the garden is on an incline which drops at a steep drop onto the wooded area below too dangerous to use the garden the house and the garden both have subsidance issues :( and loads of rubbish down the bottom of the garden from previous tennants, the garden if done properly is quite large but unusable as it is :( and Iv'e got 2 dogs and nowhere for them to play :(
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! Yay
I LOVED block schedule in school! ... except for gym :P
Lily now has 7 classes and she has a rough time with it, too.
Oh gosh Chelle, that sounds yucky.. and like your landlord is trash!
We have just.. so much STUFF up here, especially around the garage. We've gotten rid of like.. 3 large piles, but there's still more.. plus everything in the sheds and garage. We're getting there, though! The dumpster guy is getting used to seeing us yearly. I wish we could do more than one and just get it done but like.. they're expensive haha.
I got one shed completely cleared out though, and so I've been putting stuff in there when I've been cleaning out the sunroom and house, stuff that's for the dumpster. And soon the garage stuff will be headed that way, too :P
Whoo Mieke sounds like you got a lot done GO YOU!
Yeah my Labdlord is an asshole and hates spending money on the house and hates having any work done on the house it's got cracks and damp everywhere and he wont do abything about it :( and we cant move because we can't afford it :( so we are stuck in this shitty house, it's got 3 bedrooms so that's a plus at least :P
- Sorry I went MIA for a bit. A friend recommended a book series for me to read and I'm on the last book in the series. I've been reading like a maniac to get to the end because I owe her that, at the very least. I'm not sure I like the series and dread telling her that. Anyways, only got a little bit to go and then I'm on to blessed Brandon Sanderson. I love his books.
Plus, I had a pain management appointment today. My doctor is awesome and moved my dosages and pills around to help me get more relief so I can sleep through the night. I'm looking forward to a full night's sleep if this new schedule/dosage works. Keep your fingers crossed. :D
Katt, My boys are the same way with the bathroom and the kitchen. I have no idea where they learned to be so gross but it seems to be part of the "growing up male" that we women will never understand. ;) :D
Aaaahhh the wonderful evil that is books...draws you away from every thing else LOL Brandon Sanderson sounds familiar...i bet I read books by him. Hmm. No fear on telling your friend you didn't like it. If they are an avid book person, they'll understand that not all books are for everyone!! At least you tried to read it. And hey, you did read the whole series, so you at least liked it enough to finish it, even if you don't love it and will never read it again. So glad to hear your doctor helped you with your prescriptions and I wish you the very best sleep!!
Chelle that does sound like a giant jungle instead of a yard/garden. ugh. Would he care if you were able to tidy it up? I mean, IF you could and IF you wanted to. Some landlords are like "don't change anything, don't touch the yard, don't repaint" and others are like "treat the house like its yours" LOL My landlord in this house the first 5 yrs we lived here was like that "its your house, paint if you want to!" :D We didn't, not til we bought it (well we might have painted like the walls white again or something, but no colors until we bought it).
Mieke I REALLY want a dumpster and the scrap people. But I keep forgetting to call and find out how much. And I really also don't feel like I can spend anything else right now, its all needed to be saved for groceries or the mortgage next year (hopefully). But maybe the scrap people will pay enough to pay for a dumpster for the rest of the crap? HAHAHAHA Who konws. I NEED to make phone calls. I need to call the scrap people, the insurance people, I kind of want to call the mortgage company even tho I am quite certain they can't do anything for me about the mortgage but at least I will have asked... I also need to print the form for the homestead exemption, AND Kat needs to (Wesley's mom is Kat hahahah - Katie's fiance's mom, she is Kathryn and goes by Kat) fix the quit claim deed she found so it says spalding county instead of cobb county and print that - so I can give those to Ryan when he comes for graduation and insist he notarize the quit claim form and submit the homestead one - so that HOPEFULLY I save a tiny bit of $ AND can get the mortgage in my name next year.
[edit]
Ahhhh guys. My heart is melting.
I looked at his grades again and noticed that his english teacher (who he has for BOTH english classes) hasn't put in any new grades since April 25th...so almost two weeks. I REALLY hope she puts in some grades and he is passing class.
AND. That red cord is a Fine Arts cord (For being in Chorus 3yrs, they call it a "pathway") He thought he wasn't getting one. I was sure he SHOULD get it. Shane got 2. (Construction and ROTC) Katie got 3. Fine Arts, something else, and Honors (She was A/B honor roll)
- I'll be honest, I read the whole series because it was free on Audible. No loss for me to read it, then. ;) Brandon Sanderson finished Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and has a few series he's noted for, The Stormllight Archive (my favorite), and Mistborne. You may have read some of his stuff if you're big into epic fantasy. Books are my undoing, I swear. The shirt I have on right now says, "Ilike big books, and I cannot lie..." ;)
I'm late to the party, did something happen to your house, Kat? What's a dumpster/scrap removal needed for? :D
Oh yes!! Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time! That would be it. I think I was going to look into the Mistborne, that sounds familiar too but I don't remember it. I pay for Kindle Unlimited (10-15 dollars a month) and read A LOT...I read pretty much everything I could get my hands on in the local library, PLUS sending out to statewide member libraries to get other books. I ADORE fantasy. Mercedes Lackey is my favorite author, followed by Anne McCaffrey and Lois McMaster Bujold. But I love lots of other authors.
No, its my back house (the old, original house on the property before mine was built). I use it as storage and its full of junk and I would like to get it cleaned out. Junk = 6 or more old appliances, a broken apart motorcycle, old lawn mowers, old weed eaters and other yard tools, swing sets and trampolines that are in pieces, old tires, old fencing, old chainsaws and other random tools, old bicycles, aquariums, dog things (kennels, cages, beds, who knows), there is an old dresser, old mattresses/box springs, old grills, I don't know what all else! :P
- I've read Lackey and McCafferey when I was in high school. The thrid one you listed I've never heard of, what books did they publish? Sanderson's Mistborn series really begins the story of his worlds. If you're interested read the first book, The Last Empire, and if you've read him before you'll remember it. ;) Who else do you read? I read tons across all generes. The book series my friend recommended is in a genre I avoid like the plague: romance. Ugh. That is all. lol 😂
A scrap merchant may come out to your property and look over what you've got and tell you how much he'll pay you to haul it away because he should make some good $ on all that stuff. You really shouldn't have to pay for it to be removed. :D
(and Kat!) read Lindsay Buroker! She's got some really fun fantasy and sci fi books. Alex and I argue over which ones we like best but.. we both love them all? They're somewhat formulaic, but like.. it's not bad, somehow? IDK they're just really good! And there's a bunch on kindle unlimited Kat.
Ugh Chelle, that sounds awful. :( If he won't do anything, he should at least let you guys!
Kat, here scrap people who come to the house don't pay you, but at least it'll get it gone. :P I need to contact them, too.
Finally came up with a menu for mothers day, we just came up with one and he reached out to her (again), with the menu and she was like "... ok LET'S DO THAT" haha.
So we're doing butter poached argentian red shrimp (they're really lobster-y!), and spinach artichoke crostini (because uh.. we've used spinach in three meals this week and still have half a container somehow), then crab stuffed white fish, roasted asparagus, and salt potatoes (to dip in the butter from the shrimp!), followed by citrus creme brulee.
So. here we go. Plan made, We'll pick up groceries Friday night.
And I asked for waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and sausages for breakfast Sunday. And Alex to come up with a plan for Sunday night LOL. So. Here we gooooo!
OH MAN I DON'T THINK I TOLD YOU that Megan moved Sebs birthday party to Saturday.. right after we told Lynne that yeah, we could do Saturday :P
Mieke - I don't think I've heard of that author, either. I'll look her up. Any specific book I should start with?
OMG, Is Mother's Day this Sunday? :O I had no clue, I thought it was later in the month. Mieke, your menu sounds absolutely delicious. I wish my hubby and son could cook like that. I'm sitting here drooling... lol 😂
Bujold wrote the Vorkosigan Saga (like close to 20 books?) and The Sharing Knife series. Both of these series are fantasy, the Vorkosigan saga is also science fiction, but also some of them are kind of love stories? So romance but not based on the romance. I like romance. It gets boring/repetitive sometimes. My favorite romance books to re-read are by LaVyrle Spencer. They are really old books I've had a long time. (Morning Glory never fails to bring me to tears). Also Judith McNaught is just awesome. They are love stories more than sex stories. Lately the ones I've been reading on my kindle are alien romance or shifter romance which are more sex and love stories. :P As you can tell I also like paranormal stuff - like magic, dragons, elves, fairies, vampires, etc. I also read young adult/children's fiction/fantasy :P I have all the Harry Potter books and all the Percy Jackson books. I can't really say authors so much. I just pick up a book, read what its about and read it or put it back :P Same on the kindle, if something catches my eye, I'll read what its about and download it or not. A few times I downloaded something and then started reading it and noped myself back out of it, I just wasn't in the mood for the direction it went.
I'm hoping to either be paid for them to collect it, or if I haul it to them. One or the other. If it comes down to it, I'll let it go for free :P But I'd like to get some $ preferably.
Hahah did she finally realize Sunday was Mothers Day? So how are you doing that, party and then dinner with In-Laws? Can I come to your house for breakfast! :P And I'll try dinner too hahahaha No idea what we are doing. I might just pick up something and say "Nathan you are grilling this" :P
giggles I just looked back at my post and all the :P I put hahahahah!!
edit: omg ya'll i just geeked out on my friend from school. LOL She buys/sells childrens toys, and has gotten me a bunch of little people toys for school and for Grace (grandchild to be) - and I just was browsing news on my phone for fun, to see what headlines were out there and saw LITTLE PEOPLE HARRY POTTER SETS!! AAAAAAAHHHH I WANT THEM!
Kat, I'll look into them. I'm up for epic fantasy, science fiction, paranormal, action/adventure. I have read and probably will read young adult books as they are fun. I don't like sex romances. I know how it's done, you don't have to explain it to me in minute detail. rolls eyes I have a great imagination and I bet the sex scene I imagined is better then the one written. lmao 😂
I do know that there are a lot os scrap merchants here who will pay you for the items, especially anything that's copper or aluminum. You shouldn't have to pay anything to get the house emptied. :D
Right?! LOL I often find myself skipping over those parts. Especially if I've been reading similar books for a while.
Yeah, there are several scrap dealers around here. I just need to get off my butt and make phone calls and see what they have to say. After all, a UHAUL is only like $20 a day for rental, so even if I have to haul it to them to get $ from it, that should be worth it.
Ah-hah - remembered...Terry Goodkind is another author I like. His Sword of Truth series (starts with Wizards First Rule) I do have to say I didn't like the last book or two of the series, it got really weird and I felt they weren't even connected properly? Unless I am misremembering and maybe the last books I read were NOT part of the series. I dunno and I would have to go back and look at them to see.
I thought the first three or four SoT books were great, the middle ones were enh, then a few were good.. then I gave up on the last few LOL. Because yeah, they just got weird!
Anyway, seriously, both of you, Lindsay Burokner! ().
Oooh yeah if you can get your scrap there, they'll definitely pay! And it should easily be over the $25 or whatever a uhaul will cost LOL.
I am so tired. I'm about to fall asleep sitting at my desk. The rainy/cloudy weather doesn't help. And I'm cold, even tho its not really that cold in here. But no, I'm not sick, no fever. Just this type of weather makes me cold and sleepy.
I need to figure out what I need to get for my DECAL scholarship and how to send it in (email/fax probably)- I remember something about having to send in my grades and my next semesters schedule or something... don't want to lose that scholarship!
3 weeks of school left, and that little kid, the one that was in my room that got put in the room next door, has gotten WAY worse after a short period of quite good behavior in the other room. He has now bitten someone hard enough they bled, punched someone in the back of the head, ran away from the teachers INTO THE PARKING LOT AND ALMOST INTO THE ROAD twice!!! AND has run around the school building inside, multiple times from teachers/staff/admin. He has misbehaved so bad that two days after admin told the other teacher they can't send him home anymore this school year (WTH?) that admin SENT HIM HOME. I admit to being so terrified for the kid. After him running off like that into the parking lot :o I am like, I almost want him back in my room under my watch, because he didn't used to run off like THAT with us. But he might be doing it anyway had he stayed in our room, you never know. The other PreK teachers understood before - but NOW they really get it. How exhausting it was to have him in the room, how chaotic, how you cannot stop him from the behavior, it just HAPPENS even when you are sitting right there next to him...how sometimes its like a switch flips for him or something, like nothing will be wrong and then he'll just hit someone out of the blue.... He has been with the behavior specialist/other teachers/admin so much this past few weeks its ridiculous. I think THEY understand/feel what we felt too now. to be honest, almost EVERYONE in the building that speaks to us about him, asks "why is he still at school?" We are like, I don't know!!!
bMieke, Buroker? I've got them on my Audible wishlist already. Any suggestion which of their series I should start with? :) The series I just finished is the House of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. The last book is the best one, imo. She has another series but I'm not sure I'll read it but , I hate to say it, I added it to my wishlist if I ever crave that kind of romance again. ;)
Well, the medication change has been made and I'm loopy from it. My hubby finds it very amusing. Men. But, my Mother's Day gift showded up, a pound of fudge from this little store in Uranus, Missori. My hubby found it because they sent him an email saying " get your fudge packed in uranus." He thought it was so funny he bought some. And got me this little pot of lip shine called "LIP SHITZ." 4TH GRADE HUMOR ABOUND. :JOY:
oh dear me. Potty humor. What fun. At least he thought about you and got you a gift. Hmm that romance series sounds familiar lol I've read a bunch of things the past year or so
anyone NOT getting something from the token shop? I would like a [item2=Spring Equinox] and I will of course pay you the tokens back. I already got the book. If not, its fine I will see if any are left this evening.
Sorry, I got the new food. :(
Yes, , Buroker! I always want to add an N.
Hmmm. They've honestly all been my favorites as I read them. Well, except the newest one, but I sitll enjoyed it :P I'd say start with Dragons Blood series, because uh.. I love Ridge and I love a sassy sentient sword! And the spinoff series from that one is great, too!
Ugh Kat, that sounds.. EXHAUSTING to deal with. He really shouldn't be in school, at least not without an aide specific to him!
Guys last night after the concert El and Lily went for burgers and then brought Sean home.. on the way back from Seans house they hydroplaned and ran into a stop sign in a ditch. Someone came and pushed them out of the ditch and pushed the plastic piece back up, the car is fine now and they're fine, but it definitely scared them.
Well.. Lily was more afraid of the person who stopped to help them at 10 at night than she was of the car accident.
Oh no poor El and Lily. I'm glad they are ok. I'm glad someone stopped to help even if it did scare Lily more.
And yes. Exhausting. And I rather thought that myself. That he could use a one to one aide. But he's not special needs at all. Just behavioral issues. And I don't think they'll do an aide for that.
The principal sent out a "tentative assignments for next year" sheet...and neither I nor the other PreK para are listed on it....and I don't know what that means. He has not spoken to me at all about wanting to move me or anything ..but he did speak to her after a stupid incident with the above childs parent (which was complete nonsense!!) and suggested to her that she leave PreK....when she told me about it...my response was that seems to be his "go to". You are having problems with a child misbehaving? You dont need to work with that age group ...
mieke, Ok, I've added Buroker to my wishlist on Audible. I'm game for a sassy sentient sword. ;) I'm glad your girls were ok in the accident but I think the person stopping to help would have scared me, too, considering how people are these days.
Kat, have you talked to the principal about why you're not on the list? Maybe that means you're to work with all the classes because you're so good. ;)
