I'm glad it was much easier than you thought it would be!

And haha, I push mow about an acre here :P We say it's the front yard but it's really just.. around the house, it goes into the back too, but the BACK yard is what we call down the hill... so not really past the driveway, but past the driveway on the one side, and then through there down to the creek.

I like it though.. most of the time! I try and make it an act of gratitude, like.. I'm so lucky to have this land that my grandpa mowed for so many years, I'm so lucky to have this mower that I really like and enjoy using, look at my flowers, this is such good exercise that I'm not even noticing I'm getting, etc.

The part that kills me is the weed whacker though, that hurts my wrists, even though we got another battery powered one that's really light.

Yeah, I think she found the game son tiktok. They really were fun, though! Just, like.. too much, all in one room, with extra tables and such up.

Taking Lily to the drs this morning to check out her wrists, and while we're there he's going to fill out her physical form to get her permit. So hopefully we'll go do that Saturday morning!

I don't know how you manage. It hurts my hands to mow just the dog pen/runner line area. My entire property is one acre. So then you take away the house area, the back house area, and the graveyard and I probably mow 1/2 to 3/4 an acre of grass. We did used to mow a lot more of it with the push mower, but Mr Eddie always mowed the front area for us with his riding mower til we got our own.

It is good to be positive about it. It is great to own your own property. Wonderful that you are following in grandpas footsteps. And lovely that you can enjoy the beauty of outside as well as her exercise.

I hate weed eating too. I'm going to buy some Roundup and spray around the house and porch again to kill of some of the junk at the edges.

It's my front area that I consider NOT my yard lol. The area from the oak tree up to the road (which includes the graveyard area). My back yard is the dog pen, runner line and area to the back house...my front yard is from the porch to the oak tree. That's about half the property. I have a side yard too, that's where the pecan tree is.the other side is the driveway side.

Well, it's a little battery powered mower so it's not very heavy, which makes it a lot easier!

haha. I mean, it's ALL our yard, it's just.. front and back yards are a little confusing, because part of the front yard is behind the house :P

We have a side yard too, but it's icky and swampy over there, so we only weed eat it like, monthly instead of weekly for mowing and weedeating the rest. We basically only go over there to change out the propane tanks for the stove or to clean out the dryer vent because again.. icky.

They just announced they're letting the kids out early for the eclipse on Monday, which is very exciting.

... I think mostly it's because they'd be on the bus during it and there's no way they wouldn't all stare directly into the sun but.. whatever. Education! :P

Ours will be during dismissal too but right now they've said they are distributing glasses for everyone to wear. Like, who is going to make sure the kids keep them on in, while on the busses? The older ones may be smart enough to listen, but the littles?? I'm worried a bit about them. I can't remember but I think we stayed late last time instead of early dismissal...I do remember getting a brief time to run outside and look at the eclipse (just the adults) while someone watched our classes. And all the parents of car riders?? What will they do to protect their eyes? The kids might have glasses but the adults won't. (Parents. The teachers will from the school system, like the kids). And it's the day after we come back from spring break. So like ... Right. The kids are totally going to listen to us....

Yea. Crazy. And lucky me. I have car rider duty that week lol so I'll be outside for it... Car rider duty only lasts like 20min for me after I take the bus kids around.

I'm at the doctor. Had to do blood work to get my prescriptions refilled this time. And I have poison ivy which has spread up my neck now so while I am here I'm getting treated for that. Steroids of course 😝 from the same Dr who didn't want to give me steroids when I was sick in Jan/Feb because it can raise my blood pressure...apparently my blood pressure is good enough today not to worry about it??? Lol

Oh my gosh, having bus duty during that would suckkkkk!

All schools around here are getting out early now. We're apparently in 96% totality here? Which is pretty cool!

Oh bus duty is simple for me (I'm not a bus DRIVER!!) I just walk the kids out and make sure they climb onto the right bus, because sometimes the buses aren't in the usual order or one is late or absent. I have 6 kids that are bus riders, one more that is only if his daycare is closed.

I don't know what our totality is, but I don't think that much. I'll have to see if I can look it up. We were pretty close to total on the last one if I remember.

I'm surprised the doctor didn't charge me any extra :o The lab lady did say I'd get charged like $50something but then the dr office didn't charge that, so I'm guessing I'll get a bill from the lab company later in the mail. I figured I'd at least have to pay for the steroid shot! I had already paid my co-pay for the office visit.

Just popping my head in. I dunno what's wrong with me atm but I just can't seem to sit as my desk long enough to play on subeta :( Feeling a bit restless. Had a bit of a tough time lately - some changes at work and some goings on that have been a lot to deal with but I feel like things are starting to come out of the other side. Just starting to feel as though I can relax from finishing my masters, too.

[edit] 930 pm Feeling nostalgic a bit after listening to music, looked through my old yearbooks. Remembered one friend. Looked him up on Facebook. Ok maybe feeling stalkerish now? Ugh. :P Because in trying to figure out if it really WAS him, I searched his daughters Facebook page and his mother's :P bad me. Still not positive, but pretty sure it was him. Debated sending him a friend request or a message...but didn't. Because. Yea. He's married and I felt disappointed he's married again. Didn't quite feel right (so um yea, does that mean I wasn't interested in just an old friend or that I just don't want to even TALK to a married man right now? I HAVE NO CLUE) ARGH. FEELINGS SUCK. I remember him being my best friend in high school, junior and some of senior year. But I don't think he felt that way about me. Jr year I think he wanted to date me lol I could tell when guys liked me, but I was very much NOT into dating really yet (hanging out was fine, doing things together was fine, kissing, making out, more than that, no thank you), and umm used Ryan and the keychain he gave me when I moved to have a "keychain boyfriend" and cling to the past. Senior year he dated someone else, and I didn't like it, but eh - I still didn't want to date, I just was unhappy he was, with HER! Especially because she didn't like him hanging around ME anymore when they started dating, and OUR friendship (mine and the girls, and mine and his) went downhill fast. :( They got married, had 2 girls, divorced. IF the guy I found is him (and as I said, pretty positive it is) he's married again. And lives in Nevada. So like, no way I'll ever have a chance to meet up with him again most likely, not like if he still lived in Florida -so that is another possible reason I didn't reach out, why bother when I can't meet up with him again? But like, at the same time you can get connected online again so eh yea. I DUNNO. Which I feel I am doing again, clinging to the past, when I looked up this old friend. Looking thru the yearbook a few other faces/names stood out to me, but he is the one I remember the most. Kinda sad eh? I don't even know what to think of myself right now!!! :P

To be fair to myself, I've thought about this friend a lot after moving up here at 18 yrs old, wondering how he was, if he was having a good life, wonderinf if he was still with her, if they got married, etc, wishing him well. Just never reached out (you know, the whole she didn't want him to talk to me/be around me thing) ... Only reason I know he married, had kids, divorced is because I asked my brother years and years ago (I think maybe the year we lived in Florida is the year I asked?), my brother also knew him in high school, if he knew anything about him. Eric (my brother) knew those things somehow.

And now I feel really weird reading over all of this and kinda want to delete it, but the Kat and Mieke show must go on, so life drama (memory drama?) from Kat for you all :P There. Something that isn't college or PreK school related!!!

It sounds like you've wondered about him a lot, maybe I wouldn't friend him, but just reach out there and say hi, what's going on, you've been wondering about how his life went, say him in the yearbook and decided to look him up, etc etc. Then you can see how he feels.

Guys the play is almost 3 hours long I have made a MISTAKE :P It starts at 7, have to get there at 6 to set up for concessions, etc. It's gonna be so late!

Ouch! Why did your phone bill go up so much?? My internet bill is about to go up (or I should say, start chargin me again)...the ACP program is ended (no more funds or something like that I read about it some)...I am getting a$15 discount for 6m for staying with AT&T. But I have no idea what my actual bill will be - because when I got the ACP I also got a program from them for being eligible for it and I have paid NOTHING for internet for, two years? The original bill was between $50 and $70 if I remember right. I don't know if I'll still be eligible for the other discount program from them, or if that was only while ACP funding was happening. I hope whatever it is I'll still be eligible. I think it was like a $30 discount? I don't remember if I'll get a bill starting this month or starting next month... I use wi-fi on the phone at work, and at home, so the only time I use internet on the phone is when I'm not at work or home. IF I get online at those times. Ryan pays the phone bill tho. HE is constantly going over his phone data/internet usage/hot spot usage. I get text messages that say if he or Nathan does. I assume he gets them too, since HIS # is the main one, not sure why I get it, unless all on the plan get it. That is something else I need to look into, just in case once August comes he stops paying that too, although that is one thing he said he'd keep paying, but you know. Just to be on the safe side and have a plan. I know AT&T and T-Mobile have teacher phone lines plans pretty cheap. But I may or may not have to get Nathan one too (but as of August thats something he'd have to pay me for too, just like car insurance, gas, and his drinks). I can only hope if Ryan does decide to be a jerk about the phone, that he'll give me time to swap the numbers. I've had my phone number for over 20 years and really wouldn't want to get a new number. Nathan's had his pretty much his whole time ever having a phone too, so...yea. Keep the numbers is preferable.

yea. I thought about that last night. Sending him a message to say hi, do you even remember me, hope you're doing well. After I went to bed I COULD NOT SLEEP. I dunno if it was the steroids (they do wake me up sometimes) or my crazy mind keeping me awake. I went to bed at 10-1030 and didnt' fall asleep til around 1 am. And of COURSE I was awake by 6 am. yep. Between my body clock and the dang dogs....

I almost stayed home today. I feel drained. Went to Dr yesterday. Says the rash I have he thinks is a yeast infection type of rash. Got some cream and prescription benedryl It's helping. But I also had a low grade fever (99.something) and today I feel drained. And itchyyyyy Have been itchy since Sunday or Monday but didn't see any rash until day before yesterday on my arms, then my neckline. Yesterday morning on the underside of my boobs. Very annoying. They were/are the itchiest!!!! They've been itchy the whole time but no rash/redness until yesterday

I'm so tired for no good reason today.

I tried recording myself in a zoom meeting. I'm hoping I can edit off the end of it hahah otherwise I'll have to re-record. I might anyway depending on the recording lol I also don't know if I can upload the meeting so it might not even work 😝 Ugh nope hahah I went back and pre-recorded. Now to find out if I can upload it as an assignment. I should be able to My professor uploads 2hr long zoom meeting recordings every week. This is like 2-3mins

[edit] Nope. Couldn't figure it out. Ended up doing a Flip recording. So my multimedia is my voice with a google slides presentation, which has 2 links to click and view a story and a song. (I didn't click the links in the Flip recording tho as the book is 4 1/2min and the video is like 3min and the whole lesson was supposed to be 2-4mins, I did explain and show how to click them in the slideshow) My Flip recording was about 3min long. I put both the Flip Video and the Slideshow in my "classroom" :P I think i did ok. Im not sure I really did what the assignment was supposed to be, but eh. I DID use multimedia and that was the main thing.

AND I made sure that the person I felt was copying my work last week had already posted (looks like she sort of copied someone else, but again, many of us will choose to do a slideshow type of thing but hers was very similar in style to someone else's to me...eh. Its on the professor now).
