and that little jellyfish on the bottled spring cloud looks perfect :D

Thanks :D Niamh wanted an outfit that was more spring-like than the grey weather we've got today ;)

nods some of those stages are way too good to be restricted to just a few hours over Survival!

why thank you :D I got the jelly yesterday :D

haha but the grey weather is iconic England ;) LOL funnily enough, most people think that England never gets pretty weather. I mean, yes, there is grey and rainy weather but it's not quite as bad as some people seem to believe.

agreed! I mean so much time goes into the art, they deserve to be showcased

Thanks. I did have a great trip. :D Sadly I have not felt great today as I have been throwing up and let's say needing the bathroom a lot. Fun times.

I love hoodies so it sounds neat being able to make your own. :D ooo I hope you have a good time 😀 I still would have thought it is more complicated than a shirt, but apparently not. ;)

true, but I could do with some drier weather so we can get a bit more sorted on the allotment - the ground's still a bit damp to get any real work done (and they're forecasting it to get colder again for the weekend anyway) :K

A family friend moved to Spain about 20 years ago, as they felt the weather would be better.... 5 years ago they moved back to England as Spain was "too hot and dry" now :P

It does help when I find a pattern that works for my shape - I'm still not all that confident about making alterations so clothing patterns would fit me, so I try to find a pattern that has the right kind of shape in the first place! :P I've got several t-shirt patterns, but so far none of them really work for me.... so I might actually have to give in and learn how to alter the pattern next time! 😊

Feeling a tad bit better today thankfully. No throwing up at least. Still enjoying your instruments?

Learning to do alterations to patterns might be a fun challenge. Maybe there are experienced people out there that can give you some pointers? I am sure there are plenty facebook groups and the like. Pinterest etc. Does not help that a lot of clothing seems to be made for taller people. :P

I tried asking in a facebook sewing group about a particular top (it was looking bunched up in places, so I wanted to know what alterations I needed to make). They recommended I made a size smaller, so I had some similar fabric and made the size they suggested.... which is so small I can't get it on! :K I think I should've just kept it as the same size overall but done a kind of petite adjustment, and taken out some of the length of the top so the shoulder to bust length wasn't quite so big!

After that, I figured I need to find either a course / workshop where I could go and learn, or find someone I could ask face-to-face, as just relying on photos isn't proving much help! :P

Youtube can sometimes be useful too.. as you can actually see people do things not just read instructions. But I agree, having someone show you in person would probably be best. It is a bit discouraging to end up with a garment that you can't use. :hugs:

nods I think once I know what alterations I need to make, then I can use the video guides.... but so far the hardest thing has been actually figuring out what needs changing in the first place! :P

yesterday it was bright sunshine to start with.... then torrential rail, hail and thunder o.O so I think the allotment is still too wet to get anything done! They don't do plot inspections until late April though, so at least that gives us another month to get stuff growing ;)

True, although they found it hard to sell their place in Spain (they reckoned that less people are wanting to move out there, so the prices have decreased)

Glad to hear it. :) You are the queen of acquiring hobbies. xD It has rubbed off on me somewhat. lol I will leave the music to you tho!

Knowing what needs changing is a good start. :P Or find someone that designs for petite people maybe. :P

apparently it's actually quite hard to design for petite, as you can be 'long in the torso' or 'long in the leg' and still count as petite :P

That is one thing that has always droven me batty. If you are on the heavier side, they also assume you must be longer in the torso, legs etc too. And vice versa. O_o But of course we are all different shapes and sizes, so it is never going to be a challenge to design clothes.

or when you get trousers that apparently are designed for petite, yet the 'high rise' style doesn't end on your natural waist, but starts riding up to where your bra underwire would be o.O

The best jeans I'd ever bought, were 'tall' cropped ones, which were the perfect length for me to wear as full length jeans (and weren't too high on the rise either). I think they started falling apart several years ago.... and of course I've never found a pair in the same style since! :P

[edit] edited Thursday An interesting package has arrived from Amazon :D :D I've stashed it in the cupboard so I'm not tempted to open it early! laughs thank you!! :D :D :D

I prefer trousers to cover all the bits, even when sitting etc, but that should not mean you could be able to use it as an extra bra. :P I hate trying on trousers at the store too, always dread it. :P And ordering online is just not a great option.

You are very welcome. :D Amazon notified me that the package had been delivered yesterday, so it should be the one from me. :D

oh yeah, the trousers I made most recently are low waist at the front (so the elastic doesn't dig in when I sit down), but high waisted at the back (so they don't ride down when I sit down!) :P The worst thing about trying trousers on in the store is when they don't give you a seat in the changing room, so you have no idea how the fit would alter when you sit down! :K

:D

The weather can be so inconsistent here too. Did it ever dry out enough?
shame they got less though.

haha happy to help in the hobby department :D Your 2023 bday and Christmas, along with 2024 bday is hopefully going to ship this week. That's the plan at least :D 2024 gift is a protype of something I was toying with the idea of to maybe sell. I hope you like it :D. Also ignore price estimates on the parcel, I'm scaling down.

Dad managed to get some digging done on the allotment yesterday ;) although at the moment hardly any of the bean seeds we planted (we've got them starting out in the garden before they get planted on the allotment) have actually germinated, so there's currently only three plants able to be planted anyway 😊
