Well when I start the car from cold, I usually rev it slightly (that's what I had to do with my first car, and others that had dodgy batteries and were sluggish to start), but I wonder if that makes the engine run a little too fast for the first mile or so, which makes first gear more reluctant to go in (as the car thinks things are running too quickly to need first gear). That would also explain why Dad doesn't have so much of a problem as he doesn't rev the car when starting it from cold. So my idea is to try starting the car without revving it, then see if once I get to the bottom of the road, if it'll be a smooth change to first gear ;)

That's exactly what I've been doing - the advantage of having the list as a wishlist means I can sort it in price order and hopefully buy the cheaper ones first :D

[edit] 29 feb Yesterday I had minor surgery on that toe with the wart. he just can't seem to get rid of it so he decided to see if he could cut it all the way out instead of layer by layer. he had to cut almost to the bone 😔 which is so eww and oww. We'll see if that worked. Right now the toe is hurting like hell.

I built my mum's new cube bookcase thingy for her to put bins in and stuff beside her recliner. Today I built my new sewing table. We had to get one because my desk has to leave the space owning to the fact that we reuturned the last piano because Lucy almost crashed it and herself and we bought me a more sturdy piano which really will only fit in my room and the desk is the best thing to move. the table looks nice and at least my toe didn't hurt so much when I was building. The piano is suppose to arrive next week so I have several things to do before then. But my teacher is very impressed with my progress. i'm pretty excited about the piano coming

oddly enough, this year there weren't any that I thought were too repulsive to want - either they were 'nicer' zombies, or I'm just getting more used to that kind of artwork laughs

lol its definately not pretty. eh that shouldn't impact it. But you could use someone else biting you. Even if it's one bite, it helps to have two or more people nibbling at a time.

The last couple of days have been full of moving furniture around.... then next week I'm hoping to try out my carpet washer (hence needing the room clear of furniture first!) - kind of early spring cleaning :P
