hopefully they will keep the decent players and not be tempted by the amount of money another team want to offer for them! ;)

It is always a fine balance to try and keep the good players while still keeping the bookkeepers happy. ;)

it's not a job I'd want to consider! You can always tell when Dad's favourite team has been playing terribly for a few matches - there's always fans calling for the manager to be sacked (again) :P

And then sacking the manager never seems to help much at all. :P See that all the time in football. :)

when there's a new manager, the players seem to suddenly understand how to play well for a couple of games, then they're back to the same abysmal performance :P But the fans never seem to want the players changed (even though it's the players that would have more effect on the score?!), only ever the manager o.O

-nods- Yes indeedy. I've been working on God rest ye merry gentelmen, but that isn't coming together well nor is Angels heard on high. However, I do have We wish you a merry Christmas, We three Kings down really well. Jingle bells, Silent night and Away in a Manger are even better. I'm in the middle with O Come all ye Faithful and O Holy Night.

Oh that sounds like a fun practice with those working out well then :D Oh cheers.

yeah been practicing a ton. lol Well the cello has been called the large violin lmao.

that's an impressive range so far! Have you tried the Carol of the Bells - it's quite repetitive, so once you get the first few notes sorted, it's not too bad until the middle section (and it's a great ear-worm to annoy people with 😇) :P

I still need to work on the high notes as they're coming out quite squeaky (think 'child playing a recorder' and you'd be about there for those).... but I don't like practising those if anyone else is in the house!

They tried to teach us how to play the guitar, around grade 7-8 I think? Bless their heart, I bet it did not sound great. lol My niece's school had her work on building her own guitar, pretty cool. She has already been taking lessons for a good while. :)

It has never made much sense to me either, that is only the manager that is blamed for a team not performing well. O_o But I suppose they need a scapegoat when there is so much money and prestige involved. :P Are you playing the violin as well?

that's very true - I reckon though that if they paid the football players an amount that related to their performance (so if they play really badly for multiple games they get less in their pay packet), that'd improve the quality of the game, and also save quite a bit as most of them in the higher leagues are way overpaid 😇

I tried playing the violin a few years ago, but my muscles didn't approve of the angle I had to hold the violin, so I sold it :P I've been learning the penny whistle (well, it's a Low Whistle so it's kind of a big penny whistle if that makes sense) ;)

Now that would be an interesting way of paying professional athletes. 👼 One of the best strikers in the premier league is from a place close to where I live actually. It is mind-boggling to see how much money he makes now playing for Manchester City.

Ah. And much easier to store than a violin I would think. :P

EDIT: There will be two parcels coming your way. Tomorrow and the rest 16-18th. :)

if it works for other kinds of jobs 😇 I can't ever see the footballers getting paid like that though - the ones in the top clubs are too used to being paid a fortune :P I didn't realise there was a Man City player who came from near you!

hehe just a little, although at the moment the whistle is sitting in a plastic case on my sewing table as there's not quite enough space in the cupboard for it 😊

And the clubs are stuck paying these stupid amounts if they want to attract the best players. They can almost ask for anything they want. :P

It is on the sewing table for easy access so that you can play it more often, naturally. 👼

that's true - unless there was a rule change, then I can't ever see their wages going in any direction other than up!

laughs although it does mean there's something else to move before I can sew anything 😇

I'm about to have my first violin lesson today. Okay, technically it's not my first as I did about a month of lessons x amount of years ago when I first got my violin. But anyway, I'm very excited and I think I've got my zoom all ready for it. Yep, that's right, it's virtual, which means I don't have to go anywhere XD this makes me happy lol.

Paddy I don't have that in either of my books but if I find music for it, I can certainly try it :) I did try Fur Elise for the first time yesterday and it wasn't sounding half bad which made me giddy.

those high notes are a problemo for me as well. Damn high notes lmao. Hope you can get some practice on them without the parents about.

Pinkpanther--that's cool :D I built a uklele not long ago. That was fun :d i then painted it. We had to take recorder lessons in my school. I bet it wasn't overly pleasant for the teacher lol.

I love the HA today, even if it is pretty a vibrant forest coloured outfit :P

How did the violin lesson go? That's actually much better being able to do a zoom lesson, so you don't have to actually go anywhere or have them come to you either :D

I'm so used to the high notes on the recorder where you just change which holes are covered.... but of course the whistle doesn't have a hole to change to do the next set of notes up. It's easier to get the high notes on the low whistle (even if my hands are a little small to reach the lowest note comfortably!), so I've been practising on that first, then swapping over to the regular whistle to see if I can get to grips with it on there too 😊

Fun! How was your lesson? We had to play the recorder too during those early years in school. My music teacher actually told me I did not have to play it unless I wanted to. It must have sounded pretty bad for him to say that. rofl. The same teacher told my dad he did not have to sing.... At least he never told me not to sing?

Same. Or for some reason their income goes way down so that they don't have as much money to spend. But that is not very likely to happen to all teams either.

I don't even have a place to put a sewing machine desk, so that hobby is out of the question for me. :P

nods even if it happens to the bulk of the teams, there'd always be at least one that has loads of money to throw at the players!

Previously I was using the dining table (and putting the sewing machine back in the cupboard once I'd finished), but that was getting more awkward as the sewing machine cable wasn't quite long enough to reach the socket, so I had to always use an extension lead :P

There isn't really quite enough space for the desk in my room but I needed to make it work laughs

There never seems to be enough power outlets, or they are just not where you need them. I have not used a sewing machine since I was in elementary school, so I imagine it would take some practice for me.

Glad you were able to find a way to have the extra desk in your room. :D

that's definitely the case where I've got the computer plugged in - there's one solitary wall socket so I've had to run the computer (and everything else like the monitor, router & printer) from an extension :P

I only had one term's worth of sewing lessons at school I think, so I hadn't remembered any of that once I wanted to try sewing more recently ;) I did borrow my Mum's sewing machine to start with, but I soon realised it'd be much better to have one of my own :)

Admittedly it does makes it awkward to try hoovering the room, as there's not much space between the desk and the bed laughs

Those extension cords are a life saver. I have so much hooked up to my tv. o-o And I need somewhere to charge my laptop etc when I am using it.

It is always good to be able to borrow one to see how you get on with it before buying an expensive machine. :I suppose a mop will work too unless you have carpets that is of course. ;)
