Maybe. Probably not.
Lily actually has more experience, as well as classes under her belt haha. And she's taking another 4H one the weekafter we get home.
I'm in to backcountry camping. I took my youngest for our first trip a few years ago and man was it hot and muggy, let alone extremely rough. We went to a National Forest so it's open to wherever you choose to hike to and pitch a tent but you also have to be so far off the trail, which in the area we chose was unfortunately straight up a hill - although there were small areas that were level so that was cool.
Last year I tried hammock camping and my first solo trip back to that same forest (different area) and I slept so good after always waking up soar from my mattress that I never wanted it to end, lol.
Alas, the national forests are scattered in my location to around 2.5hrs from me in either direction so I don't go for just a night or 2. (heavy backpack)

See... I don't even let the girls tent camp in the backyard because of the bears and coyotes LOL. But I also don;t like like.. super close campgrounds, I want space to move around and actually enjoy nature!
I would be lying if I said I wasn't afraid of bears or anything else wandering around. I don't have a gun but I do stay armed and prepared.
The sense of calmness I get once I'm unpacked and set up is immediate... actually, as soon as I'm in the forest, I feel better b/c I know I'll be able to unwind and only have natural things to deal with.

See, the bears are mostly nuisances but.. I still don't want them outside alone :P But it isssss annoying when they take our trash bags for a walk!
I do love sitting outside, preferably by water. And I love laying in the hammock, either actually in the woods in the packable one, or even just laying by the pool listening to the birds and such.
I had a lot of fears to conquer when I went solo... or hell, even the first time w/ my daughter. Being in the woods at night is pretty damn creepy and we're both fans of creepy movies and I listen to creepy stories nightly (and mostly avoid the ones about the woods) and not to mention, just being a female in the woods. Going it alone was very empowering for me.
I'm in between rural and suburban in an older farming town that has been built up in various areas to be too pricey but I live next to a busy road so there's not a lot of time to relax in the backyard and enjoy the sounds of birds w/ semi's going by. I do have chickens though, and they sound pretty annoying with their weird 'normal' sounds. :P

Yeah I was just outside taking care of the chickens for maybe 15min and I was a big ole ball of sweat. My younger brother and I are excessive sweaters. That dew point going over 60 is just asking for saturated clothes and a very uncomfortable sleeping night. (I actually did grab wool and combined clothes for outside conditions when I wouldn't be around a house/fan/cool air or water anytime soon.
Bugs, I use a combo of permethrin and picardin and it seems to work pretty good. Spiders, I carry a bottle of mace for those suckers. lol just kidding

What are you doing tomorrow, Kat?!
I've tried basically every bug spray known to man. the only things that have worked are the wipes, and I need to reapply.. often. Apparently, I'm very likeable!
🎉 Happy birthday to ! 🎉

I hope you have a lovely birthday, Kat!
Do you have a rare item that just won't sell? Are you going through the high levels of Item Hunt? Or maybe you just HATE that blue bunny? Then you should join IHH helpers and IHH bargain in the forum groups!
oooh hope you have an awesome birthday at the festival, Kat!
Today is a serious scorcher, including the humidity. Not sure what I'll be doing today.

That sounds amazing! Happy birthday, Kat!!
We took my brother shopping this morning, and Alex and I picked up everything we needed for vacation (including new PJs and shorts for me, shorts, underwear, t-shirts for Alex LOL). And car snacks, of course! Then we got home and he mowed the jungle that we sometimes call a backyard, the the girls and I weedwhacked, mowed the front, and pruned some bushes that were... really taking over everything. Now Ellys floating in the pool and I'm helping Isabelle pack.
