I agree Taarna!
OK, maybe they EAT like adults.. but I feel like in other things, they do less... or just.. enjoy less. :P Kids are always so cheap, but then once they hit 13, you're screwed! haha
Same on the buffet.. my youngest daughter would barely eat anything and we used to go to a buffet once every six months or so. It's been a long time for us, as well. Even I couldn't eat as much as I used to so I guess it's for the better. We'll just have to find some thing else to do together.

Is it harder or easier to find things to do with your kids once they are actually an adult? I mean, I would still enjoy going out to eat or to a movie with them, if we had the extra $ more often. But like, my oldest is never home (he is truck driver like daddy but over the road) and my daughter is very busy with her work and school and is going to leave soon to go to college on campus 2hrs away. I sometimes feel like we can't ever do anything together with them. And I wonder how it will be as they get older, get married, have their own kids.... I'm sure it's different for everyone's family tho....all situations vary.
Obviously for our family it's different.. but we go on a family vacation with our in-laws every 2 years (normally, anyway!). So all the kids and grandkids, even the unmarried kids. It's nice to hang out all together, but who knows how long that can last.
With my mom... we... meh. We went to the fair and such.. sometimes. She didn't even want to go shoppingor anything. But I think that's different. :P
I'm interested to see Taarnas take on this, though! haha
Movies are great together b/c we all have the same tastes in movies. When it comes to including the grandkids in the outings, it's more about going out to eat than some place where they need to be quiet. Parks are better, though. Spent a lot of time w/ my daughter's at various parks since it was the most affordable thing to do.
We also live next to Kings Island, which is a step down from places like Cedar Pointe but still so much fun. I can always get my youngest daughter to take the front seat with me on roller coasters. :D We used to get passes and either go together or separately, depending on work schedules. Especially for the waterpark portion where we go and just lounge by the wave pool for hours on end, only getting in when we got too hot. The lazy river was nice, but they would always push my tube into the waterfall sections. lol Little shits.

I think it's easier to come up with things kids would want to do rather than adults. Like you said, going to a park is an easy cheap thing to do. A kid loves that. An adult, maybe not so much? Depends on what type of park and what you do there I guess. Like kids will play on the playground and play games to have fun. I could have a picnic lunch with an adult child but then what else? 😝 Maybe once they are adult it's easier to afford things that cost? They can pay sometimes you can pay sometimes, and there isn't the expense of feeding them, clothing them, activities for them that you had while they were growing up? So thee is extra $ sometimes anyway? Lol
I guess I sound focused on the cost of things. But that's how my life is. The few times we've done a more expensive vacation or fun things it's because someone h3lped pay for it or we had a great tax return that we could splurge....
For the parks, when they got older we would take paddle boats they rented out. They also didn't mind walking around the lake on the trails and we still continue that from time to time. I think older stuff is easier to find things to do together than mid to late teens.
There's also a few lake beaches around that are free and good to spend time w/ the little ones and the big ones. It's probably a whole lot different w/ boys, so I can only attest to having the girls in which we have more common ground on. They both have worked for a long time and we take turns on costs. It's SOO much nicer not to have to pay for all those teenage costs. :P

Guess I lucked out on the bigger parks and being around them. They have saved me many times when the girls were younger and I didn't have the money to do anything else. Winter was a whole 'nother story, though. Not enough snow to sled most of the time... just enough to make commuting anywhere, miserable.

hmm... food is definitely sounding good. Getting kind of sparse in the fridge and need to get to the store but I need a ride to do that. Car still isn't fixed.

There are so many books to read! And some are impossible to get.
I'm trying to get Denizci up on the charts. :)

Books! What are those? lol I bought a couple books from the MC recently and that will be enough for awhile. There's not enough return on the pet aspect for me. It's been awhile since I battled any of them, too.
Thank you for the lottery ticket!!
It's always fun to get inventive w/ food when you have this and that and don't feel like any of it. Gonna see if I have the ingredients to make another batch of keto bread. Wish I had the motivation to clean my kitchen (and fridge) but I think I'll get bored enough this weekend to work on that. :P

Yes tooo many books to read. I just realized other battle opponents have books as prizes for 5 battles.....and so now I am battling the easier ones with all my pets lol less books to buy with sp later.
Felt so lazy decided on a frozen pizza. Really don't want it but too lazy to bother doing more effort for food.
Thanks for the lottery ticket!

Yay forum points! I got one earlier but I don't know if it was in here or in the Games thread. I still haven't done any questing yet. Talk about lazy.
Got some eggs to wash off and just put in some round steak pieces in the oven to dehydrate into beef jerky. Reminds me that I need to do some knife sharpening here soon.
Hopefully I'll get to make my first kimchi this weekend, if they have the napa cabbage at the store. I made some pickled red onions the other day and they are SO good!

Random Event You notice a Twilight Clawsion Elixir on the ground, but right when you bend down to pick it up, lizard minions come out of nowhere and scurry off with it!
Your trap springs and you spray like mad as the lizard minions escape. They will not get away this time! You place Twilight Clawsion Elixir into your inventory.
Nooo. I don't like onions. Or pickles. Or pickled anything!! You enjoy tho! 😉 I never thought about making beef Jerky in the oven. I always thought you needed a food dehydrator!
I'm a pickle fanatic... so is my younger brother. I also love green olives.
Older style ovens are generally better equipped to go down below 200 degree temps, which is what you want for dehydrating food. I weighed out my options, as well as the energy used for both (money) and have just been using my oven to make all kinds of dehydrated stuff. Really got into it before our first camping trip, since that's all I take is dehydrated foods. I also dehydrate herbs when I have an abundance and while it's not as good as freeze dried, it still works.
I'm obsessed w/ basil so getting a good setup to keep them going during the winter has been a couple years in the making. Lighting and stuff is very different when you're growing indoors.
Still have yet to see a lizard event.
