I also am not a city person.. I even hate Scranton :P But it was fun!
I just took stuff out of my shop and stuffed some stockings via wishlist search. I have to do some actual looking but.. so much time :P
I am exhausted. Saturday was busy and fun and so was yesterday. I really enjoyed going but to see the lights with Nathan's group! I miss being able to do that, nowhere near me (like 10mins or less) does a lot of lights anymore. I got home at like 930pm after having left the house at 1030. So yea. Exhausted (Saturday I left the house at 730 and got home at 230) lol
Yeah, that's a long weekend Kat!
Around here it's like $25/$30 a car but I will say, it's REALLY cool. For the lights, that is.
We didn't go where we had to pay. We borrowed a 15 person van and drove around neighborhoods. The city there puts on a contest so a lot of neighborhoods/houses participate and they give out a map online so you know where to drive to vote lol. We didn't vote we just drove around. I have been before a few years ago with Katie's youth group to one we had to pay and we loved that and had a blast there too.
[Edit] I was studying my notes for psych...decided to stop and check my school email since I had not for a while. (I was falling asleep so needed a change to wake up).... Wish I had looked sooner....lol Email from psych teacher, due to my maintaining an A all semester, I am exempt from the final exam!!! Final grade 92!
Final grade of 85.9 in econ, but no grades on discussion board extra credit, so I emailed him about that.(I would like to know how well I did on that, tho I am happy with my grade).
Ok I know we've still got just under 2 weeks but I swear it's coming up fast and I've been way to distracted in trying to get a car and being pulled into work meetings b/c they've been using some outdated software for several years that is now just going to stop working on Jan 6th and everyone is scrambling to figure out what to do. No one's been able to figure it out so far and it just keeps getting closer and closer to the holiday and we shouldn't have to worry about this kind of stress right now.
Nice job on the psych grade, Kat! We have a couple places that have a pretty decent light show and the closest one is through a park which charges by the car, if I remember since it's been awhile. Now I really want to go after seeing you 2 talk about it. :D I love going out and seeing decorations/lights. Gonna have to see if my youngest will take me out wandering around the town to see lights like we used to.

That's fantastic Kat, congrats!!
Taarna, it's coming up SO FAST. The only decorations I have up are a Christmas tree.. with only lights, no decorations except what we've got this year. Whoops. But.. it's fine. We finally got the stockings hung up! Some of them, anyway.. the backup ones, because we didn't find most of the real ones. But whatever.. it's fine.
EVERYTHING IS FINE.
I'll take your word for it that everything is FINE! :P

Way too fast and yet this week is going too slow. How is it only Tuesday! It has been a long two days after a long weekend. Thankfully not bad or super chaotic...just long.
Thanks guys!!
Haha it is fine! As long as you are having fun and doing things you enjoy, no decorations and old stockings, meh whatever!
, you should. I hope she will take you. I love looking at lights. Ugh about the car and work situations. Scrambling is no fun.
Sooo I should be picking up my car today! I'm not going to say it's definite until I get the keys, lol. There's just been too many things that keep popping up last minute that leaves me still skeptical.

Ahhh yay Taarna, that's great! I'll cross my fingers for you! :P
Last night was the choral concert. It wasn't awful! But at the end, the 5th and 6th graders were down in front of the stage, the 7th and 8th graders were on the risers, and the 9-12 graders were on the sides of the risers, on the floor. And it was so weird looking at them, because the elementary schoolers looked.. like the little kids they are. And then the junior high looked so much older, but also like.. kids. And then the high schoolers.. they looked like the adults they almost are, and it was just surreal watching them all and really SEEING how fast it all goes.
IDK, it was just weird.
Aww Mieke. For some reason I can totally feel the surrealism you experienced. I have a couple pictures of me, my daughters and my first grandchild, which is a girl and the only girl, that gives me a similar feeling. I look at it and I see generations in the moment.

It's so insane how fast they grow, and how short they're kids for.
IDK it's just. It's very odd. :P
In other news! Tomorrow is the band concert, and Lily is playing in jazz band, junior high band.. and the senior high band? The band director asked her to step in because some of the seniors won't be able to be there.. so she's being both a junior and a senior and doing their parts. She's very proud though, because he just asked her to do both parts, instead of asking anyone else to do either of them.
Kids are so busy! Sometimes I feel sorry for them b/c I just want to see them enjoy their youth and the time before everything is about working and paying bills and establishing yourself in the world.
What does Lily play?

She plays percussion.
And it's true! Some of the kids LIly does stuff with.. it's insane! I don't know how they manage school (which is already a full time job), sports, extracurriculars, and a part time job? But then school is of course "You've got to slow down and take some time!" but is also like "IF YOU'RE NOT DOING EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD YOU'LL NEVER GET INTO COLLEGE". IDK how they manage, I'm stressed watching some of them!
Elly is more of a "do NONE of the things" kind of person, and Lily is a "do ALL the things! I don't want to miss out of ANYTHING HAPPENING EVER" kind of person so.. that's rough, sometimes :P
LOL oh my that's exactly how my 2 daughters are - complete opposites. Definitely wasn't easy but I always found it amazing how 2 kids could be so opposite of one another. Sometimes it was and still is quite amusing to just sit back and watch how they differently they react to things.

It's definitely interesting how two kids raised in the same house, the same way, can be so entirely different, Taarna!
Kat, that's awesome about your econ book! I'd be doing a dance in the store! :P
Isabelle made this HA last night. She was so proud of it that I think I'm stuck with it for a while :P
Yeah, it's the melody sweater holding a cat, I think. And then a cat on the ground. You know how obsessed she is with them!
Ahhh guys, the concert was so great! Jazz band was honestly amazing, and the junior high and concert bands did too. And at one part, the band director was reading off the names of people who got into the special bands, and then he was like "And a special thanks to Lily, who stepped in and learned in three days what the high school kids have been learning for 3 and a half months" and the entire auditorium was cheering and whistling for her haha.
