So this morning I woke up and my ear finally doesn't hurt anymore (yay!). But then Lily starts texting me, the fire alarm goes off, no one knows what's goign on, school hadn't even started yet. One of E's friends grabbed her hand and pulled her outside through the doors.
They wandered outside for an hour before the schoolw as like "We're sending you guys home as soon as the busses drop the elementary school kids off."
No one knew what was going on, etc. Lots of rumors. Turns out some kind of battery overheated in a hide backpack, couple of kids got burned but it wasn't anything on purpose. But still.. scary as heck!
But since she was home early she went with me and Grandpa to pick up food donations for CHOP, and out to lunch, and she really enjoyed that!
ALSO Earlier I was doing laundry and I wasn't really looki ng at what I was doing but I picked up a towel and under it was warm and fuzzy and I threw what I was holding and ylled really loud.
... turns out the kitten was asleep in the pile of dirty laundry on the floor. About shaved 7 years off my life!
Haha you guys have had quite the day!! We sent two kids home sick and had one with triple potty accident in 15min 😒 Just pee so mom just brought in more extra clothes. We hope mom will investigate if it keeps happening in case of infection of some sort. But that's up to mom. Child is very potty accident prone. Won't tell us if she has to go. And we go like 4x a day as a class!! I hate bugs. Never had a stink bug get smelly tho, thank goodness! I haven't missed bathhouse yet....woot! Wowsers for the school incident! We had a lockdown drill today for our other school excitement of the day. And that is a lot of 4H activities. Makes me wish I'd looked into it more for my kids....but they were pretty busy as it was, with karate, youth groups, sports and school events.

I hate stink bugs, but I've never smelled a dead one? But they ALWAYS just FLING THEMSELVES at my face. :P I HATE IT. No one else gets stinkbugs FLINGING themselves at their faces.
All the bugs love me. Always. Mosquitos, always. Alex hasn't gotten bitten in like 17 years... unless he's sitting outside without me :P
Hi !! No pee today. However some mini vomit. Like gagged on something not actually threw up tho. Twice. Sigh. Soo ready for a break even tho I know they'll be wonky after.

Did you throw the kitty, Mieke? That made me really LOL. It's the pokey stuff that freaks me out when I pick up s/thing, like a leaf, small stick or around my chickens there's a weed with those small, half inch things that stick into everything and you don't even realize until after the fact. You're right - I never have any of the stink bugs come flying at my face. :P Sorry that happens to you. I have had a time or two over the years where one landed on me in the middle of the night and freaked me out. After all, it's the time that spiders start looking for warm places, too. >.<
I dozed off yesterday on my lunch break and woke up w/ the WORST kink in my neck. I can barely turn my head. Ibuprofen helps the pain but I still can't move it. Probably the nastiest kink I've had in a loooong time, and I even have a few degenerative discs in my neck. I know I can try a heating pad but it's really not easy keeping it there unless you lay on that side.
Anywho... I've sent out some random things. There's still stuff in my vault I'll check WL's for before I throw the rest in a shop. Been trying to grab what I can today since yesterday was a bust.

I’m good thanks kat. Tying up loose ends at work as we have the next two weeks off. Plus I’m looking for a new job. Sick and tired of being treated like crap.
Ouch for kinks 😟 Oh nice for breaks from work tho. I feel you there luce. Sometimes I feel that way too. Admin and even sometimes lead teacher just say or do something and it makes me feel like I just should not be at my job. I love my job tho. And most of the time it's over some stupid thing. (like getting a 5min lecture on making the kids wear masks....what the heck? We do try to make them. You come make them..(no I didn't say that but I felt it!!). I'm sick of being the mask police.) And that's a simple issue.
Today for instance....maybe I overstepped my bounds? I don't know. I don't feel so. We have been sitting at the tables with the kids since school started due to the chaos we had early on. The VP said something to lead teacher. She NEVER said anything to me (neither of them). But I noticed lead teacher sitting with kids. So I did to. Then asked and then was told "we" got told to sit with kids. Now kids are calmer and I have spoke to lead teacher above moving back to "teacher" tables and moving kids who need more supervision close to us there. She says she hasn't talked to admin about it. So today (after weeks of hearing (and saying some myself) complaints about sitting with kids...) I take it upon myself to ask admin if we can sit at "teacher" tables instead of with kids. Admin contacts lead teacher then gets back to me that lead teacher has a plan, talk to her. No she doesn't. (At least I don't believe so). Because she hasn't even wanted to ask you herself if we can sit at a separate table like every other teacher in the school. And since it affects me, and where I sit, I feel I had the right to ask if lead teacher hasn't.
And no, no one has said anything to me (yet) about me being the one to initiate that request. I kind of doubt lead teacher will say anything. It's frustrating. She won't tell me her plans half the time and then if I say or do something in what I feel is an effort to help or make things better, I feel like I get slapped down.
Ok. Rant/vent over. Phew.

That sounds like a very, VERY common issue and can cause HUGE problems in certain environments of work and it's all about communication (you wouldn't believe how many developer/application groups don't communicate with other groups in my field and shit hits the proverbial fan). Even thinking about the amount of times that's happened and then watching the blame game unfold tweaks my nerves.
Sent out some stuff I had. Still have more but I need to keep moving my head so that kink will work itself out. At least it isn't that painful. I just literally can't move my head to the left more than an inch... I guess it does hurt a bit when I try but it's not constantly aching like it was the other day.

Ahhh Luce, I'm glad you're looking for a new job, yours always seems to make you miserable. :( At least there's lots of vacation time?!

Ughhhh guys there seems to be some kind of 24 hour stomach bug going around. Hopefully it goes away quickly, because we're supposed to go to Corning tomorrow. :(
I callled the school to tell them Elly will be staying home today and to ask about the virtual days (They only get 3, but apparently the ones from when her knee was hurt actually count as excused absences instead, since she had a doctors note? Even though.. she did some of her classes virtually? I don't even know.
Anyway, they said they sent 6 kids home yesterday with the same kind of thing. No fever, no anything else.. just a stomach bug.
I'm already over school, and it's just barely October. :P It hit me last night too, I felt fine.. until I got in the car and started driving. Ugh. I feel fine this morning though?!

From what I understand, there's going to be a lot of "bugs" popping up due to lowered immunities by not being around others. We need to spread germs to each other to keep it actively working.
Another reason I feel sorry for the kids that have to wear masks is that they now have those germs literally stuck on their faces. Think how dirty their hands get and then think about how many times a day that mask is touched/moved and such. That's some nasty shit, right there.
Well then they're nasty kids :P I know at our school, they're supposed to change masks after lunch and after gym class. And I've never seen anyone touch the insides of their masks, only the outsides. And even that, not too often.
Even when I was in the preschool group for VBS, the little kids didn't touch their masks much, once they were on. And we replaced them after snack time, when they'd be touched, so you don't have the masks just laying on the table or anything face up.
BUT it's still a huge pain in the ass to get the preschoolers, especially, to wear them all day long.
Ooo that's good! I know some schools don't have them change their masks (I live next to 2 teachers) and my grandkids daycare certainly doesn't. Small kids are just nasty in general, lol. (Is that where the "5 second rule" started? Drop s/thing on the floor and a kid will try to pick it back up and eat it?) 😆
The older grade school kids I see at the bus stop are always fooling around w/ them and after watching people in stores doing the same thing, it always bothered me. I'm so glad I got an insert to keep it off my mouth and nose so I don't have to adjust it or touch it.
Masks are nasty. We don't require kids to change them during the day....but some of our kids parents don't even change them daily, they send the dirty mask back to school. Eew. When we see that we try to give the kid a clean one. (We use cloth masks and so do most of our kids) I'll admit I touch mine more than I should but to be fair I honestly don't feel the mask does any good so it doesn't matter to me if I touch mine. (Just my honest opinion folks!)
We are down to 13 kids again....oh joy. 😒

Well, I wasn't going to be the newbie in the group to say it, but you're right, Kat. Masks are nasty, little kids are nasty --- for real, when my kids were babies I couldn't stand the slobbering stages. Omg was I grossed out and I'm not even a clean/neat freak. That and everything they wanted to put in their mouths when they're little like that.
But yeah... unless you have a mask that construction workers use that can filter out the smallest particles (not dust masks), then the so called "surgical" masks are ineffective for s/thing as small as viruses. I have cloth masks, also. They're just to make others feel more comfortable.
Sorry if I'm going to be hated on for things I said.
Hah yeah. I'm not afraid to say I don't like the masks. Most people I talk to feel the same. I have no issue with those who do think it helps and feel better for wearing them tho. You do what you do, I do what I do (or what I'm told for my job). 😝
I hope Elly feels better soon. We have had little fevers and 24 hr stomach bugs going around here.
I had no issue with my own babies. I was grossed out a few times but was like oh well deal with it. Now I get grossed out more by the school kids but I still just deal with it. Unless it's a poo-pocolypse. That's someone else's job!!!!
