Don't forget your bathhouse streak! (I'm the worst on weekends.)

Kids are gross, especially small kids!
I don't know, I'll say masks and distancing definitely helped, as no one but Elly got sick last year (I swear to god she licks doorknobs in public places, but she swears up and down no :P). Would I say I LIKE masks? Well, no, definitely not, but I don't hate them either.. unless I'm running around like crazy, or it's like 90 degrees out. Then I hate them :P I did think it was slightly insane that they were running track with them on last year, though!
Everyone felt fine enough to go to to Corning yesterday, and we had a great day! And Atlas pizza.. omg yummm. I swear it's my favorite pizza aywhere.. too bad we have to drive two hours to get it :P
Kids are SO GROSS. Like.. I hate them. They're always sticky, icky and gross. ALWAYS. And there's always some sort of goo coming out of some sort of orifice.. and then when they hit teenagers it's like.. did you shower? When's the last time you showered. Deoderant? Are you wearing deoderant? Dude go wash your clothes you're gross.
There's really no winning with kids :P
LMAO Mieke yeesssss. There was so much I had forgotten about until I started watching my grandkids and I'm just like UGHHH!!
Glad you guys are all feeling good and had a good time. I hope you get to have a relaxing birthday and maybe get a little pampered. ;)
Day 15 of bathhouse.
I look forward to Morostide, also. I just don't look forward to getting close to November when we have to start preparing for major holiday changes that all the stores do with their price changes and it's all manual which leaves plenty of room to err.

Morostide isn't my favorite holiday.. which makes sense, because neither is Halloween. I'm more into.. cute and adorable, or spoopy.. rather than anything remotely icky or spooky.
I do LOVE Christmas though.. but alas, not on October 1st, when I just want to look at pretty fall colored things in the stores!
Oo goodness I'm a horror fan through and through. This pink lady watches some of the scariest shit and I absolutely LOVE Halloween. I love a lot of fear inducing things, like being on the first car of a roller coaster, lol. That has passed down to my daughters and we have enjoyed many scary movies together, as well as how much I used to get into Halloween decor. Now I'm a lot more frugal and do more Halloween/Autumn type stuff that I can keep up til I put up Christmas stuff. Lights during a time of year that is darker, dreary (depending on where you live) and lacking in color is the highlight of the dark season for me, although I know that after the winter solstice we begin to slowly regain our light back.
I do like others perspectives, tho. Even more when it's guys that are really scared of horror flicks and me or my daughters will make them watch a movie with them. LOL. (I know, it's cruel.) We've spent our lifetime scaring each other. :P
[Edit] So my daughter got up about an hour and a half ago and text me to ask if we had anything for fish. Since she had gone to a major fair we used to go to all the time in IN, I knew she had gone there and won some goldfish. /sigh Now they're in a gallon jar that I usually use for making kombucha. -_-

Hahaha , how can you dislike Halloween? Isabelle is practically a bat herself!!! I prefer for Christmas to wait until after Halloween, but does it? No.....stores here are already pulling out Christmas stuff. 🙄 I love all holidays and fun events. Not scary horror things tho. My best moments have always been making things with my kids and I can't wait to do it with my grandkids. Another reason I love working with 4 yr olds. I get to be crafty with them most of the time. But my kids and I did craft and baking activities all the time til they got older for all holidays....I miss it.
I used to have goldfish all the time. I like fish but hate taking care of the aquarium when it gets nasty.
I think the distancing helped a lot, to be fair!! Just not so much the masks.
In the uk we don’t really celebrate Halloween as such. Granted some kids go trick or treating. However not everyone. We don’t have corn mazes or things like that. We do have a brand that does Halloween chocolate and that’s Cadburys and Haribo do Halloween gummies.
Christmas stock is slowly being added to shops. Supermarkets have all theirs out however other stores are slowly adding sugar. They’re still trying to get rid of their summer stock.
Had a nice lie in. It’s 9.47. So had an extra two hours. Once Ian’s out of the shower we are going to our park trust and have a walk around. (Photos will be on Facebook as usual)
Mieke yeah works been getting me down for a while now. In the past I’ve tolerated it. I’ve been in it for 11 years. I’d love to stay in the same company. However if I have to move on I will.
Yes, isabelle was basically BORN for Halloween! She's obsessed, all year long. I know Taarna doesn't know, but seriously.. the child is a bat. She's 8 years old and she wears bat clothes probably 75% of the time, she's been a bat for Halloween.. IDK 4?! times now.. including once to the zoo, where she told the keeper all her facts about bats and then got a private vampire bat feeding because the keeper was so excited about this spooky weird little 3 year old LOL.
And yeah, I'll agree on the masks.. mostly because.. people don't wear them right, like.. ever :P And speaking of which.. taking the big girls to get tested today, because Lily was hanging out before school with a kid who's positive and out of school now. Annoying.
And Luce, I LOVE seeing all your vacation pictures! They let me live vicariously :P
And and and. What else did I miss. Oh yeah, I love Christmas best of all, because I ADORE Christmas lights and anything sparkly. Plus.. who can't use some feel good magic? And I love making it.
Hahaha it does not surprise me that Iz got a private bat feeding! That's awesome!
Uh oh for Lily and the big girls. Hope it's all negatives.
14 kids today, our current full complement of children this week. Still was a bit crazy. These kids seem to think everything in the class belongs to them personally. Toys in pockets, backpacks, fists....we opened the sensory table and before we even finished that and explained how to play there, one kid already went over and flung beans all over the floor 🙄 said child also will not keep shoes on...grrr.
[Edit] 17 days at the bathhouse now.
I've always had a hard time keeping shoes on other peoples preschoolers. :P Like... buy your kid some other shoes, try something different. Ben wore only water shoes for an entire year because he didn't hate the way they felt on his feet. Whatever, at least it's something!
UGH. OK SO. I take them to go get their covid tests yesterday, right? Drive takes 45 minutes, normally takes 20, but the roads were awful. Finally get there.. and they had closed 20 minutes before we left the house because there was no power, and they didn't call us or anything. The convientcare they sent me to is in the same building as their actual doctors office (so stupid, btw). After waiting for 10 minutes over by their check in window, I went over to the regular check in window to ask and she was like "Oh yeah nope, they left because we don't have power!" And I was like "..... OK well... there's no sign on the window or anything, no one called... where we just supposed to guess that?" And some lady was like "Well, they can only call so many people." And I was like "Yes but.. maybe start with the people who are coming in soonest? And.. don't go home until you call everyone who's supposed to come in?!"
AND THEN. THEN. They were like "Well, I can reschedule you! But only for next week" and I was like.. uh, thanks, I'll call scheduling. AND THEN. SHE WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE ME AN EXCUSE BECAUSE "Well, but they weren't seen!"
I was SO ANNOYED. And normally I'm like "Look guys, it's fine, I know none of this is your fault" but this WAS their fault. And then the scheduling lady was like "Oh well they should have called you, there's a note here to say the power is out until 1" And I was like "I AM AWARE THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME however they did NOT."
There was some old guy sitting in there too, he just had to sit and wait because the transportation wouldn't be back for two hours so.. yeah. He just had to sit in the waiting room and not get seen. Absolutely ridiculous.
Why couldn't they call everyone? I mean, it's not like they were busy seeing patients? And I even with the power out they have windows for light and I'm sure it's not freezing there yet??? So they could have stayed and called people as long as they had phone service!! How ridiculous. And honestly, they were there. She saw them attempting to be seen so go on and give a school excuse! Sheesh. Aw man. The poor guy. At least you could leave. Ugh.
Other than Naptime or removing wood chips from inside the shoes, this is the first time (4th yr in preK) that I've had a child take their shoes off at school!!
I have NO CLUE why they couldn't call. And the generators were running, their computers were up. The actual doctors office was still seeing patients.
I couldn't get an excuse yesterday when I took them either, because "Sorry, it wasn't even our office, I can't do anything about it." Which that I do get but also like.. WTF. The. WORST.
My gosh y'all. I am so glad today is over. So it started off with 3 tardy kids who showed up almost at the same time (one right after the other...), while we were trying to go to PE... One of whom was supposed to be in quarantine. However after we returned him to the office the nurse vetted him and he was allowed to stay. Then during PE our PreK co-ordinator called and told us she set up a person to come read to our classes for preK week and we need to be in the library at 150. Umm our nap doesn't end until 205? But ok. We will adjust our schedule. Then around 1030am (15min before lunch!) We are informed the school has no water, there was a water main break down the street and to please only use the bathrooms if majorly needed and use sanitizer. By 1230 we had a pallet of water delivered for drinking and major hand washing needs. And a trailer type portapotty. Still no water but I passed them working on it on the way home. So hopefully it will be fixed and we will have a better day tomorrow!!
I am just glad the fire drill was cancelled due to the weather. Because yeah y'all that would have added to the fun day. Oh yeah since the portapotty was in the bus loop, bus rider was all messed up and one of my kids fell out of the bus while getting on so had to see the nurse before getting on the bus (was ok, just bumped arm) and it was POURING rain during bus and car rider dismissal!!! So my pants and shoes were soaked
Subeta has been annoying since they did "maintenance". I've had to login to the new Sub like multiple times to get the damn forums to load. It was up momentarily around 8 yesterday and I managed to get my Bathhouse day in.
Mieke that is so cute about your daughter! I love it when kids find a particular thing they get attached to and want to learn all the facts about it.
That sounds irritating as hell to have had to dealt with such unprofessionalism. I have to wonder if they bothered to call ANYone.
We're supposed to get the rain today and tomorrow but it's mostly been raining off and on throughout the week. For the low 70's, it's been really uncomfortable with all the humidity. Makes my nights quite miserable and I keep losing sleep every night. Going to have to turn the AC back on which drives me bonkers that I'll be using it in October! It's going to be back up in the high 70's low 80's over the next week but overnight is only in mid 60's which isn't the greatest to sleep in with the humidity the way it's been.

Kat, that sounds like an awful day! :(
Taarna, we've been having to turn the AC on at night too, which drives me batty, too! It's not too hot, but it's just SO HUMID that it's awful and uncomfortable. Alex keeps turning it on, and I do enjoy it, but it makes me mad that I'm paying for it :P
GUYS everything has been such a hassle this week. Last night Alex was like 'it's only Wednesday' and I CRIED. IN PUBLIC. I think if one more thing happened I would have just snapped.
Thankfully, both girls are covid negative, it took four stores but we did find a new battery for the van. So. There's that. AND there was actually meat when we went out, which was a shock. So our freezer is full again, which is nice.
Hopefully the rest of the week goes a bit better :P.... for all of us!
I am so looking forward to the weekend with no stress and only cleaning to do. OH, and SLEEP!!
I don't know why but I find it annoying when people point out that it's Wednesday. I'm like YEAH, SO!! We've still got the rest of the week to go!
