Well I don't really hate Disney quotes. I guess I just feel they are over used? But yes!! Some are just so perfect!!! Hakuna Matata was one of my favorites as a teenπ yep it's Disney. The lion King. I love that song. I am not huge on musicals but do love some!! Grease, Labrynth (not sure it's a musical but is is full of music!) Are my top favs. I don't care much about the grammar as long as I know what you mean!! Lol
I personally remember very few of my teachers. I moved a lot and almost never had the same ones as my brothers did. I remember one was pregnant. I remember one was a male and told me boys teased me because they like me π .... I remember one was really mean (and found out later was going thru divorce). Those were all elementary. Middle/high I did have a few my brothers had and I mostly remember them asking if I was going to be like my brother? Really?? One high school teacher pissed me off stating that she did not use nicknames (which I went by one as a kid). She said "I will call you Katherine or Kathy". Ummm excuseeee me, but Kathy is a nickname. And NOT the one I went by!!!! I now have no memory of what these teachers looked like, acted like or anything other than those few memories of them.
OHH!! Well first of all, thank you for making me remember is was HAH kuna instead of akuna. Personally - if it comes from the right person, I don't mind at all being corrected unless it's their, there, they're ... LOL. I do my best to make sure my grammar is as good as it gets for s/one that didn't do good in English (to hell w/ all those diagrams on how shit is supposed to be :P ) as it was a personal conquest of mine; AFTER school. sigh Same w/ geography. *My dad, who didn't even finish high school, got his GED and went straight into the army gave me shit for geography all the time. I adored him and made it my mission to excel - after school - in many areas.
I basically remember teachers from grades 3 on up. Don't know why as not all of them were particularly helpful in what I learned. Hell, I remember this one nun that was a complete bee eye tee see atich (to be kind to those of you who need it) that gave me shit when we were in second grade and trying to write down what we remember of the alphabet and I looked up to where they were formerly (association, duh) and she actually made a snide remark about not being able to cheat and see the letters, to me, in front of the entire class.
Yep, I remember that nun from second grade.... We had some REAL ******** at that school. Thankfully when we moved and the next Catholic school I went to didn't have every teacher as a nun and I remember them most.

It takes me forever to remember how some things are spelled....and others just stick. It's weirdπ€ͺ
It's sad to me, when all kids remember is bad things about the teachers. Makes me wonder what my (School) kids remember of me.... I can be strict, but unless they are totally crazy wild child's, we have mostly good times. (Imo). (To me, I also feel I am the strict one because my lead teacher is much more lenient. Then expects them to follow the rules she didn't teach or enforce....) Sigh.
My own kids can remember their elementary teachers easily. I think because we stayed at the same school and they got to see them at open house and during the years they didn't have them as teachers. Plus all 3 of them had one teacher the same, and 2 of them had 2 teachers the same! Their middle and high school teachers ,not as many remembered ....because there were more of them! And less visiting going on at open houses lol
Well my friend, it has been great chatting again.....I hope we get to do it again soon (especially as I still need more forum points! They are so elusive!!). But it's my bedtime! See y'all tomorrow!
peeks in Hi all <3 hope you are all doing good. It's my mam's birthday today so I'm just popping on while the cake is in the oven!
I have a niece and nephew who are now both in high school. It's crazy how FAST they seem to grow. I still think of them as little (as in like 5 or 6 years old). :P
Today was my last day of summer. π’ I hate that we have to wear masks. It was SO NICE being virtual last year and not having to worry about them. The ones that I have been using lately all get sucked up into my mouth. We ordered a mask online that was recommended for its "breathe-ability". I have asthma so I am worried about making it all day wearing one. I can't imagine trying to enforce the mask wearing with the Littles. UGH!!!!
I adore your sunflower HA!!! I am impressed with the bike riding. π Your garden sounds scrumptious even without everything sprouting. smacks lips One of these summers I WILL plant something. LOL
Thanks for the tip about the Donation Center. I haven't seen any collection items but have picked up a few New Year's tokens.
I have zilch in the way of sPs for Lumi gifts. Sigh. I managed to save 26mil then spent it on a food item for Catoosa. Catoosa has eaten 10065 different foods! Catoosa has 66 different foods left to go!
I remember ALL of my teachers. I used to even remember their first names as well. This ole brain doesn't remember all of the first names now. heh heh. I lucked out for the most part with my teachers. I also attended school without high transitions (staff and students). So, basically I was with the same group of kids from kinder - 6th grade. And some of my teachers taught their subject to multiple grades. For instance I had the same reading teacher for 2nd and 4th grade. Shirley Cleveland. I remember her first name!! Then the same was true for grades 7 - 12 (I was with the same group of kids). I did have a few duds throughout the years but I think since my experiences with school were all so overwhelmingly positive that I was able to deal with it.
It is sad that parents have to be thanked for "doing their job". But I make sure I do when there are parents of my students who know how to be a parent. Unfortunately a huge percentage of parents that I have dealt with in my career want to be the best friend of the child and not the adult (aka parent). I have also encountered many WONDERFUL parents/guardians/families. But unfortunately (like you remembering the "bad" teachers) the ones who are stuck in your brain are the ones that you have had such a negative experience with. I have had a couple doozies cause me such trauma . . .
Hmmm, I think this year I will try to think more about the positive parents I have had. β€
Hiiiiiiiii. Glad you popped in. You are missed. β€
Meet the Teacher is next Tuesday I believe. Maybe Wednesday. Since I will be at a new school everything is brand new to me. It is very strange going into a new year not knowing any of the families. Or staff! bites nails
Nighty night! Don't let the bedbugs bite. π
Agree on the tired morning... Can't wait until this week is over and I can get some decent sleep.
This heat needs to break!! Good gawd unless I go out late at night (mornings are too soupy) I would become a sweatball in 5min on my bike. I also need to keep putting out the sprinkler in opposite sides of the house b/c of my veggies. (Don't know if I mentioned this but I keep my tomatoes close to the house up front so no deer will come and snack on them, lol)
I got a mask insert that keeps the mask from being sucked into your mouth. I could barely wear them until I got that b/c it freaks me out as I have a fear of being suffocated. Couldn't imagine having asthma and trying to wear one all day. :(

Gosh yes the heat and humidity is horrible here too. We go out for recess and I'm dying. Thank goodness we are allowed to remove masks outside. Our classroom is so hot! I feel like I just sweat all day!!! π I am seriously thinking of getting a fan to put on my desk!!!! [Edit] Random Event You notice a Bloodred Potion on the ground, but right when you bend down to pick it up, lizard minions come out of nowhere and scurry off with it!
Your trap springs and you spray like mad as the lizard minions escape. They will not get away this time! You place Bloodred Potion into your inventory.
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here!
Thanks. Catoosa LOVES to eat the foods on here. The heat and humidity - UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 fans in my classroom right now and that is with just ME in there.
CONGRATS on your lizard trap prize AND the forum point.
Thank you for letting me know. I will look into that. I definitely won't be able to teach with the ones that I have been using.
lol Kat... you and those lizard events.
I'm hanging out, listening to a long creepypasta story, actually doing quests for once. Couldn't sleep in like I wanted to b/c I just feel achy.

Oh my goodness. 3 hours in the heat!! UGH! Sorry about your car.
A "creepypasta" story, eh? So, like evil spaghetti noodles strangling people??
Lol I wondered what creepypasta was too.....
[Edit] There are two kids in my class making me long for virtual again. They absolutely will not follow any directions and just run around playing and throwing toys and thinking it's a fun time. π‘ Kitchen area isn't even open and it's a mess. They threw all the peices to about 15 puzzles in there today!!! (Just dumped them over the shelf into the kitchen area!) π‘π‘ I don't think there has been a day the administrators have not had to take at least one of them to the office or send them home! I am so frustrated with the whole situation and it's so not fair to the other kids (or us adults!) when anything we are trying to do gets interrupted by those two!!!
