Congrats on forum points!

No, not bad. Close enough for her to come when she wants. (But still too far away for Mommy's liking. 😉 ) I was a 14 hour drive away so I got SUPER homesick.

Shinwa is so easy to do! Tho I don't like when I get garbage from her ðŸĪŠ

Learner's permit gotten!!! He got an 87 on the practice test he took this morning on the way up there lol!! But they don't tell you a score only pass/fail for the real one. But he passed. 😁ðŸ˜Ŋ

And yeah. Honestly between her working and running off to hang out with her boyfriend/friend, I might actually see her MORE when she comes home for visits lol!!!

Yes, this is my youngest with the permit! Yikes. Not ready for baby to be all grown.

[Edit]

  1. A complaint. So much for the masks optional rule at school. It's now mandatory. Sigh. It's so hard to make 4yr olds wear a mask. I can deal for myself but they drive me bonkers.

  2. Yay food trucks!!! Buying more foods.

[Edit] Anyone have an Eddie bell item I can borrow? Have all but 2 grater goods items now.

Well shit... thought I had responded before now. All enthusiasm aside from taking care of plants and animals has left me.

Youngest got a new 2021 Toyota Corolla. Good gawd I hope to never go car shopping w/ her again. To be honest, I have not heard shit from sis in law or brother about my niece so I'm going to presume things are going well. I really hate it when they go into their damn caves, tho. I just got my bike tuned up along w/ tire tubes (and I swear these tires NEVER stayed inflated from when I got it nearly 10yrs ago) so that I could at least get myself to local places. Need more practice on it b/c not only are my muscles (and those pesky pelvic bones) not accustomed to riding, I have the overly tall bike size which, when I first ordered it online I had no idea there were 2 different "adult" sizes. I've also shrunk a couple inches... apparently... since my latest doctor appointment over a year ago. Love this aging shit.

I have 3 types of cukes that have pretty much taken over my veggie garden. I don't think there's any squash in there and half of my sugar peas didn't sprout but what did... well, I've been munching on as they come in, lol. Tomatoes and other herbs (separate garden) are doing very well but still late in coming in, as well as the other stuff b/c I was about a month late in planting.

Does anyone like the song by Adele, Hello? If you want to hear a male version of this song, look up Punk Goes Pop version on Youtube. It's awesome. Somehow I came across a bunch of remixed songs the other night when I listened to the Miley Cyrus version of Heart of Glass (which I LOVE!!).

[edit] Sorry , I usually don't collect Eddie Bell items.
I REALLY hate the mask shit for kids. My grandson that I watch a lot has a lot of problems associated w/ wearing them just when he's in daycare for a few hours - physical problems. Sometimes he will break out in a bad rash.
My dentist has told me about the incredible amount of kids that have come in with.... I don't know the word she said but it's some kind of bacterial shit in their mouths from wearing those stupid things for hours on end.
I don't like talking about this shit on here and it's another reason for my silence but all these mandates coming about is literally destroying our freedoms. And masks.... no one has ever bothered to read the original reports of the studies done on masks DECADES ago to determine the efficacy of them. Needless to say, whenever I hear s/one talk about how physicians wear them during surgery so they must be safe, I just want to punch them. Those environments have separate and highly advanced ventilation systems which not only provide extreme disinfection of the air but also the oxygen levels are much more elevated providing an extremely pure air quality to breathe WITH masks on.

stepping off my soap box

[edit] lol Sorry, forgot to mention - There are 197,528 items in the Donation Corner. I've grabbed 2 Collection Items plus other very high priced items out of there already.

Personally, I am not for masks. I respect your choice, if you choose to wear one, fine, if you don't fine... I prefer not to wear one.
Job-wise, I have to follow what I am told to do 😑 I also agree it is/will affect our freedoms when we are told we must do that or this. Frustrating all around.

I am a country or oldies type of person so I don't listen to Adele.

Eeek on the too tall for you bike. I used to love riding but my bottom always got sore!! Lol

Wow nice! I have snagged a couple decent items from the donation corner too.

I may have to go to the lend/borrow board to get an Eddie bell item.

Could you tell me which items precicely you need for Eddie?

So I love old school country. I'm very well rounded in my music tastes... and actually a bit more than that, to say the least. (I'm obsessed w/ movie scores) In a way, I think that means I'm more picky in my music tastes b/c although I love a lot of different genres, I only love like 1-5 songs from each artist. I drive myself nuts on this shit.

I respect everyone's choices. It's when their choices impedes on my own and it becomes a convoluted issue between those who do and those who do not. Like.... good gawd there are BIGGER issues to fight about!

And uh, yeah. The "bottom" pelvic area.... good grief do I hate that pain and I even have an extra silicone seat cover that seems to do absolutely nothing. From what I understand... it's a pain you have to endure until you get used to it. There are many words I'd like to say in response to that and none of them would fit in a coherent sentence.

Oh I don't know? Lol any of the older ones. (I will have to go look it back up).. If you are wearing an Eddie bell item and go buy an item at one of the food truck, you get an item free. I got all the other freebies except that one.

Oh I didn't know anything about this until this year!!! I was reading the comments on the news post trying to figure out what the food trucks were and how they worked and someone linked a forum topic with lots of explanations!!

So I need an Eddie bell sundae best or Eddie bell sweet tooth item to wear.

ahh yeah, Nori.
I haven't even been doing the normal 2 questors a day - Shinwa and Wizard.

I'll buckle down here soon b/c I like having sP for Lumi and birthdays and thankfully, I haven't felt inclined to spend anything on myself. (not that I'm sitting on a pile of sP or CSC) Just haven't felt inspired, other than to grab a bunch from Neugarten, which I'm pretty sure I've been skipping for years b/c the sheer amount of stuff that I didn't have was/is pretty crazy - I definitely need to do s/thing to make up for all the sP I've spent.

Yeah. I splurged a lot on neugarten, and now the food trucks too.....

The last few days I've been lucky to get in 1/3 of my quests because I'm so exhausted. Will be glad when my 4yr olds are more accustomed to school and settle down some (I can tell this group won't settle completely but....I'm sure they will some!!!)

There's a special place in Asgard.. Heaven... ;) Sorry I just went through a bunch of Marvel stuff. I love Nordic mythology. Anyway... I have a special place in my heart for people that are capable of being teachers............................ESPECIALLY these days!

When I first had my kids, I wanted to home school them. HAHAHAHA jeez what a joke... I mean, not really to those that CAN but I don't want to relearn all that stuff and .... no, the real monster of the problem was that I had no clue HOW to teach. I'm guessing that's a special skill you learn when you are going through school to become a teacher. ;) Once I realized (it really didn't take me long to figure out) there was a particular skill to the teaching aspect, I knew I wasn't capable.

.... No, I don't feel any kind of way for understanding that I didn't have what it takes to "teach" ....My job as a parent was never compromised in a way that I "taught" them right from wrong or other stuff that a parent is supposed to teach them ...My respect for teachers waned and waxed as I had a daughter (my youngest) that had and IEP from grade 3 to 12 and who I spoke w/ is who made the most impressions (after many years, I could see who was dedicated to helping these types of students and who weren't)

So yeah... teachers are underpaid but that's not to say that there weren't those complete assholes that even I had to deal w/ in my grade school years (couldn't change courses like you can in high school) that I saw my daughters - and one particular one w/ the IEP - have to deal with. ****** Like cops... there can be a few on the entire department of 100 but those few will make EVERYone look bad and oh boy, do they ever*** - and now I'm committed to speaking my mind on how they drive b/c my daughter's accident could've been MUCH worse, physically.

hmm... ranting. Sorry. Some of this shit just flows out of me when I feel comfortable and yet I don't feel sorry b/c I really don't know who I'm talking to and it's just a mess in my head as I don't have positive or affirmative things to share and that's pretty much all I see. (hmm.. that's a mess of a statement but I'll leave it)

whew Mind share, done.

Oh I feel yah!! Much as I hate to quote Disney movies....sometimes you got to "let it go" That one is worth quoting 😉😂 I also at one point wanted to homeschool my kids. I got over that fast too. Some days I am not sure how I do it ðŸĪŠ there are those moments that make the craziness worth it tho. I should have advocated more for my oldest, but I had no idea how to until after he graduated and I was more involved being a sub/para.... 😟 And from a teacher(para!) Thank you for being a parent and teaching what parents need to teach. Nowadays, a lot of parents don't parent. 😒

I gotta say that there is a weird cross over 'thing' going on between parents that don't teach and parents that are "scolded" for their version of teaching. I started seeing it when my kids were in school but I heard about it much more from kids - yes kids - after mine were out.

(really sucks that you feel the need to thank a parent for doing their job.......... but [explicit words] that is some [more explicit words])

yep.. some grammar nazi is going to give me complete shit for that but hey, I didn't major in English, lol (and still spell, type and speak better than half of the supervisors and managers I've known in the past 20yrs)

lol whaaat you hate Disney quotes!!! :P I feel ya and yep... I actually do feel the need to "let it go" and it's probably one of the best quotes from them in years. Well... Akuna Matata. Disney? They've got some good ones. I just have a hard time w/ musicals........ lol which now that I'm thinking of it sounds so odd to say considering I'm very soundtrack/score orientated. facepalm Let's just draw our attention back to Fantasia and the beautiful music that came from that. And Star Wars... probably the first musical score I became fascinated by... uh, well I guess the first was Fantasia so SW was the first movie score.

It takes a certain kind of person to be able to actually teach a kid - anyone really - a piece of knowledge. Teachers aren't remembered ... well shit, they kind of are .... for their looks, but HOW they ingrained the knowledge into their students. (I mean, appearance, smell and demeanor are all parts of the memory that are most prevalent) When I remember some of my most prominent grade school teachers - for better or worse - it was demeanor, appearance (intimidating or not), smell and attitude. I was in a Catholic school for 8yrs so a couple of the nuns were my LEAST favorite and they made it clear that they weren't happy to be teachers and I remember the least of their features.
