nods I always seem to have left my phone in a different room when I need to use a two step verification :P
We had 29C for several days, but today it's 17C and cloudy.... it's a nice break from that intense heat, but it comes as a bit of a shock to the system when it's been so hot!
They seem to like the flat - Gran said a few times that Mum couldn't have chosen a better flat for them (they've got one of only two flats that has their own door to outside, as all the others have a balcony). That'll come in handy when Grandad has to go for his appointment next week too, as Mum can take him straight out of that door and into the car, rather than having to go all the way down the main corridors and back out the main entrance ;)
And sausages are always known as 'bangers' over here - apparently it's from the second world war, when sausages were filled with water (as meat was in short supply), and this made them explode if not cooked correctly ;)

That is sods law. :P I always have mine next to me. :P Have to admit, slightly addicted to my iPhone. :P
17c feels cold when you are used to 29c! At least it is easier to sleep when your bedroom is at a comfortable temperature. :)
That sounds perfect for them then. :D Flats are a lot more low maintanance too, which is a big plus. Compared to a house. I am not even sure I would want to own a big house, seems like a lot of work. :P
Ah, that is funny! I know that they made bread with bark from trees here during the war, since grains were not as easy to come by. Doesn't sound too pleaseant, but better than starving I suppose.

I usually have mine in the same room, but clearly never when I really need it there! :P
That's very true - yesterday it was nicer outside apparently, but indoors it was still really muggy and horrible. Today it's a lot better indoors, but I haven't got the windows open all that wide! ;)
nods definitely! They've only got the one bedroom there whereas there house was three bedrooms, so it's a lot less space to have to walk through to get to the kitchen / bathroom as well ;)
I think during the war years people were exceptionally creative when it came to food.... although I don't think I'd want to eat bread made with tree bark either :P

haha oh dear. Anything planned this weekend.
I've not been to either--at least not outside of GA haha. I'm making him a sleeping mask and I did a photo collage as well. I swear men are super hard to shop for! What are your weekend plans?
Well, I have never been to GA, so xD
That sounds great. :) I always plead for my dad to give me a wishlist.. anything they might like. lol Paddy just explained why they call them bangers btw!
Today it has just been the usual gaming and housechores. Tomorrow I am going to an outdoors fleemarket and mum and I are eating at the turkish restaurant again. :) You?
They are talking about a heatwave making its way to us and temps around 30c, I hope not. o-o Around 20c is perfect for me really and colder at night. :P That is annoying that it has been muggy inside. >_<
That should also make it easier for them. :) Especially if they used to have stairs. :)
:nods: They kinda had to be! They even roasted peas to make "coffe", from what I learned watching a programme earlier. :)

nothing much - I might try and get a bit of sewing done (I need to hem Dad's dressing gown which needed taking up by 6 inches), and I've got a couple of Fathers' Day vouchers to finish (one for a cd, and the other for that allotment bag / pouch thing). It's Mum's birthday on Sunday, so I decided we're going to celebrate her birthday tomorrow, so she doesn't have to share with Fathers' Day :P
How's about you?
anything over 26C is verging on too hot for me, especially when it's humid as well!
nods they had stairs, but also a step between the bedroom and the upstairs loo, and a step from the hall into the back room downstairs, and another step to get into the kitchen - I never did figure out why their house seemed to be on so many different levels! o.O
Now that is either exceptionally inventive, or just plain weird! :P

Yeah we do wishlists too lol. ooh fleamarket sounds fun :) and same with the restaurant. Nope nothing here--aside from some chores. But next weekend we'll be doing some mosaic stepping stones and a mini home beach party for my birthday :)
sounds fun. :) SOunds like a good plan. Hope she enjoys her bday early :) nothing here other than making the rest of the sleeping mask for Dad.
I've said she can open something early - she had a hamper from a friend (that had to be opened early, as there were some edibles in there that had a short date), so I've reused the hamper itself to put her presents in.... so in theory she can reach in without looking, and pick something at random :P
Is that for his Fathers' day gift?

it was either reuse the hamper, or use the shoe box I'd covered with wrapping paper a few years ago.... but that box is needed for fathers' day, so it was easier to use her hamper for her birthday stuff :P

she gets one thing today, then everything else tomorrow - I've wrapped it up creatively (literally I've got 4 pens individually wrapped, in a pencil case.... which is also wrapped), so hopefully she can't guess what some of the stuff is. She chose some of it, so I wanted to make sure there was something that's a surprise in there ;)

she guessed the pencil case (which I'm not surprised at, given that she chose it when I was doing that stationery order), but she didn't expect the pens in there to be wrapped as well 😇 She seemed pleased with what I gave her, so that's always a positive (and I didn't have to resort to making IOU vouchers this time either :D)
ooo that's a striking outfit today! :D :D It's one of those where the more you look at it, the more details you notice :D

Humidity certainly does not help it feel more comfortable!
That is a lot of levels, makes you wonder why they designed the house that way. It is fine when you are younger and mobile, not as much when you get older. :)
I think I will go with both exceptionally inventive AND plain weird. lol
Speaking of wishlist.. is there anything you like for your bday? :)
Hopefully! Last time I went to one I ended up with two designer bags, not sure what people are selling at this one tho. At least I feel safer knowing it is outdoors.
Mosaic steppling stones and mini beach party sounds fun too. :) I have to clean my bathroom today, before I watch some soccer and maybe some gaming after. Will see. :)

haha well I don't think most people will expect a gift wrapped inside another gift :P excellent :D that's wonderful Why thank you :) I had fun with this one :) Niamh seems to be enjoying the garden :) Blade is enjoying the view of her gardening ;)
I just smailed ya a little list
Ooh Nice :)
outdoors is definitely better
sounds great :) definitely add in some gaming :)
Thanks for the list, that will work nicely. Look out for a parcel the next few days. lol
I still have a lot of the game left. lol So I might do just that.

great :) Oki doki ^.^ Thank you in advance :D Persona 5 you mean?
Hope you will like it. :D I bought Ni Nu Kuni 2 earlier (I think it was?), but have not gotten around to playing it yet.
Yup! Still loving it and think it is one of the best games I have played. ;)
