someone just pointed out that we have a bunch of weapon notes (especially on blessings and curses) but can't search for them in the main search page. Also, in the weapon list search we can't look for weapons with blessings or curses. I was wondering if either of those, or both, can be added in some way, some where?

One thing I've noticed is that we keep info about blessings and curses in (at least) two different locations.

For example, Acidtongue has a blessing mentioned in the Weapon Notes, but Malhuili has a blessing mentioned in the Effects.

We should think about standardizing this information before we decide how to search it. A few weeks back, I mentioned the possibility of recruiting a new staff member to take on special projects. At the time I was thinking about expanding the face tags to the confusing head/hat/hair layers as well, but maybe this would be a better first project?

One problem though, is some weapons have both blessings and curses, not many, but especially the godly ones. We should work out how to deal with those before starting the project.

I suspect I may have been entering weapons wrong, I enter so few that I never really understood how the blessing/curse info worked. When I was entering the new information from the godlies (that were updated before being added to the hustler boxes) I finally figured it out.

I think weapons are just too complicated to try to standardize too much. Some weapons scale based on different criteria, and some of them have features that only activate if your health falls to a certain level, and some of them behave differently if you have a certain other weapon in your arsenal. I don't think we can make all of the weapons features completely systematic.

I think the best thing we can hope for is just to have really good weapons notes and to make that field searchable.

I have trouble talking about the battle system here with any kind of objectivity. I'm a lifelong gamer - been gaming since I was 8 yrs old. Battle systems are easy for me - usually. I've played a tabletop RPG for more than 30 yrs with an insanely complicated battle system and have no problem with it. I've played video games with more different types of battle systems than I can count.

But the battle system here is totally fucked and I can't deal with it. I basically use a terrible weapon set and hit my opponent until it goes down. All the special effects on weapons are gibberish to me (except freezing, that I get!) and so trying to work out how best to display that info, how it can be used most effectively by battlers is extremely challenging for me.

I was never much of a gamer (not THIS kind, anyway. I loved pinball and was pretty good at it back in the day.) So I don't have much to compare this with. But I hear you: I don't know how to make the most use of my armory -- I know I've got a couple of good weapons, but they're not good against everything (ice, wind, magma, earth, etc.), and I haven't invested the time and energy trying to balance things out, and so my overall battling ability is just kind of meh.

Anyway -- to get back to the original question: Yes, we can definitely build in the ability to search for blessings and curses but if we have to search in multiple places for that information, the search will be very slow. Once we decide where we want it and we can make all the weapons consistent, I'll add the search functionality that was requested.

Personally I think everything should be under "effects" - and only use the notes section when a weapon has BOTH a blessing and a curse.

For weapons that have a either a blessing or a curse, but that is dependent on a certain stat, scaling, or number of hit points to activate, we put the basic, lowest level blessing/curse under effects, then the added info in notes.

Added the clown to the hexes page, but couldn't find a year to associate with it.

I will keep an eye out for if/when I get hit with the clown again and pull the full link if that will help!

I'm still trying to get the dumb hex border so I'm sure I'll get the clown again soon.

Up until this morning I was trying to get the hex border, and then I realized that I have only one Pumpkin Patch item left (out of 45) to get, but 42 out of 61 Tot items left, because of all the unproductive hexing. So I decided to quit getting hexed and start catching up on items again. :(

I don't blame you - it's so frustrating. I hate the RNG. Haaaate it.

: Besides, anything that happens randomly isn't an achievement. You don't achieve randomness. It's just bad game design.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU! Like...an achievement is something I can work towards. I can't work towards a random chance bit of nonsense! Call it a trophy or something but not an achievement if I can't do anything to actually earn it. Some people get it on one, some people never get it because the RNG hates them, and an assortment are in between. I've probably been hexed 50x this year alone at this point and nothing. Nothing in the patch either like....kay, this is fun.

I haven't had any luck with the hex achievement, but I found this year's minion in section 1 and got pricked in section 3 in case that helps.

That does help, thank you. I've been hunting in section 1 for the minion but no luck. I'm going back and forth between 1 and 4 right now trying to get Halloeve too since I've never managed to snag that one. My minion nip seems fairly useless this year so far.

I got pricked in section 1 while I was still looking for Crook, so I don't think it matters where you go in the patch.

I've been working on the hex thing yesterday and today. For me, I did the random ToT for the first few days for a number of reasons, but by the time I switch I was only missing 7 Tot items and three of the missing ones were from 1 specific month, so I found someone I knew with that month and managed to get my missing ones in while trying to earn the hex achievement. So that went well. But now I have the items I need, and still no hex achievement. I've been back on random for most of the afternoon because I was getting tired of using the timer.

Thanks for the info on the patch one! I'm getting very frustrated by them at this point. I've done the patch so many times and been hexed so much and just...nothing -_-
