It used to be family celebrations of course until I moved out on my own. After that a party with friends, good food- drinks the works. The last years tho I havent done much at all.. other that I treat myself to a nice meal and such. :P Its def. nice to watch the fireworks tho. :D thankfully they dont seem to bother Pusur too much. :)

Looking forward to seeing it. :D Its it more of a big city area? Suburbs? Countryside? :) Thankies.. its been somewhat busy for sure. lol

Dont worry about it. :squishes: Focus on family and the move and whatnot. :)

Thankfully mostly with nice things. :) Yesterday we celebrated my nephews birthday, which was nice. :)

I bet that was a relief in a way to be able to just choose what you wanted to do to celebrate, rather than the expectation of being with a big family thing? ;) That sounds a great idea though, to have a nice meal and watch the fireworks :D I was going to ask if Pusur gets a bit freaked out by all the flashes & bangs! There's some cats around here that really don't seem fussed, and other that are so skittish, I hope their owners keep them indoors on New Year Eve!

Just means we are in good company ;) It’s super cute :D So I tried your topstitching hole idea and dude I LOVE IT! I made two bags with way. It was easier, faster and looks even better XD cheers ^.^

More suburbs meets country.
Lol I noticed you have been. I tell you I’m so busy I’m just running on fumes I think. Oh happy bday to him. Hope it was good :D

hehe true :P

Awesome! I'm pleased it worked for you :D I never bother pressing my seam allowance, but if you do that before topstitching, then it should work even better ;)

I will admit on some bags I didn't press them at all (unless it's a gift) - they get crinkled when they get used anyway :P Thanks :d I had it saved under yesterday's one so I didn't have to think today :P

Sounds really nice! :D Will there still be room for a hobbyroom? :) Things will get better once you guys are settled into the new place. :squishes: Heading out for a walk in not too long here. Dont really feel like it.. but oh well. lol

:nods it works for me. :) I agree, always will recommend people keep their cats indoors during new years. Some cats will actually sit in the window and watch it. o_O others will get spooked. Usually worse for the dogs tho, Even horses and wild-life. Especially since a lot of people will shoot up all day, and not just stick to around midnight like you suppose to!

yeah, they never stick to just one day either - over here we have Bonfire Night on November 5th, but usually that means it's a week or 10 days of potential random fireworks going off :K I'm pleased Sparky likes loud noises (we had a really intense thunderstorm on summer's evening, and he was busy chirping to the flashes of lightning and really loud cracks of thunder!), especially as he was quite skittish when we got him originally ;)

Yeah, it would at least make things a lil bit better for animals if they stuck to one day! Its not legal here even, but people dont seem to care.

Glad Sparky enjoys the fireworks and other loud noises. :D He should have a blast celebrating new years then. ;)

That sounds perfect. ^_^ I am getting ready for my friend to come stay here, she is arriving tomorrow, so excited about that. :D

I'm surprised they still do that even though it's not legal! .... although having said that, there's meant to be a time cut off here for the latest fireworks can be set off on an evening, but there's always some rogue ones that go off a lot later than they're meant to. I guess it's impossible to enforce, as there's no way of knowing who set the firework off unless you see them at the time!

He'll be covered over by midnight laughs but he liked the Bonfire Night ones (they were about 7pm) apart from the really loud boomy ones - he wasn't 100% sure what that row was (which is odd, considering he was talking to the thunder before!) :P

That is the problem, it be very difficult to enforce sadly. :) Some places have started doing lasershows/holograms etc. instead of the traditional fireworks.. Which I think is a neat idea, as its not lou at all.

Hehe.. I always covered my birds cages too before I went to bed, for some more peace and quiet. 👼

I just have to say, todays advent calendar prize made me smile. I have been meaning to order a Gryffindor emblem, now I dont have to. :D I want to knit a Gryffindor scarf, and the emblem should be perfect for that. xD He'll be covered over by midnight laughs but he liked the Bonfire Night ones (they were about 7pm) apart from the really loud boomy ones - he wasn't 100% sure what that row was (which is odd, considering he was talking to the thunder before!) 😛

the laser shows are odd when you can look down on the display from a hill - Dad thought the aliens were invading last year when we saw that for the first time! (we didn't know they were adding that in at the end of their "silent" fireworks display) ;)

Awesome! I'm pleased that was the right choice for you - I was standing there for ages looking at the stand, wondering which house to pick! ;)

XD yes. Ooh lovely look today! Thanks. (keep reading)

Exciting. Hope you have fun! (keep reading)

I’ve had a bad day. 7 days ago, I started repainting 2 pieces of furniture. The dude at the paint section of a home improvement store told me I didn’t need to go with oil based paint. I was surprised but excited. He said it’s gotten really good and used for furniture. So trusting in the expert, I buy latex paint. I spent the next several days painting. Then I noticed some paint chipped off with nothing hitting it. Shocked I went back to the store and found out that the kid had told me everything wrong. I was right all along. So the manager gave me a can of polyurethane for free. Well I went and put the coat on—doing everything the label told me too. Today, going down to put the next coat on, I discovered that it had dyed my colour. Instead of light off white, it now looks this horrible streaked yellowed aged colour that looks awful. Not what I was going for. I was so upset I was crying. 7 days of work including sanding them down and painting and all—ruined. So we went back to the store with me crying. In the end they gave me new oil based paint and sanding paper. They also gave us a complete refund on the other paints. So we got $25 back but I have to sand everything down and restart so not really even equal but it’s what it is. I’m glad they fixed it though. Anyway, I lost all that work so I’m not happy about it. After the house showing tomorrow I will sand and then prime the rest of the nightstand and the cabinet and then paint—again. –sighs- And then as I was putting away the dishes, one of my favourite mugs slipped out of my fingers and shattered on the floor. We have been spending so much with this move that I can't replace it.

ON the positive side, I sanded down the drawer of my nightstand first and I took some stain I had leftover and it looks stunning so I’ll stain the top as well. It will save me some time. Also Nigel’s vet visit went well and the vet is pleased how his skin is doing.

that sounds like a day you were pleased to be over and done with! Sorry about the mug, and all the work you put into that painting :(

But the nightstand sounds awesome :D

yeah it was really sucky. thanks I'm so pleased how the drawer looks. It's a pretty cherry stain that is also coated in polyurethane so I didn't have to prime it and it's coated for water protection and chipping. I've used the stain before so I know it works and won't muck anything up--hence why saving work because no priming and fast drying.
