laughs just wait until you start trying to sew your own knickers 😇 (actually, the ones I made fit better than the ones I've bought :P) That's one heck of a day! And awesome that you can keep your new glasses on for so long too! :D :D

Apparently that happens when you get nearer to 40 years old - especially if you had a high prescription in the first place. They've got me on a year between appointments now, so I'm assuming in a couple of year's time I'll need the varifocal bit for reading as well (that also tends to happen once you reach 40) ;) Dad's prescription was about -6 when he was my age, and his now is around -4.

laughs if only! Maybe though the computer could do with a brush out to get rid of all the fluff that builds up on the fans - I don't think this one has ever been done 😊

Your HA-less outfit looks awesome today! ....and I feel hungry looking at that now laughs

Mum said once that making them was very tricky so I've not tried. But that's great they fit better than store bought ones. XD Right lol I'm sore-- lol surprise. The only problem is I think the sides are a smidge off on both progressive pairs. My temples are hurting and hurt almost right away this morning. Just a bit too tight still.

I didn't know that you're rx would get lower. How interesting. I'd've thought it'd go higher. Especially with the muscle weakening. -nods- That's why I've got progressive lenses myself. Muscle weakening due to age and added astigmatism.

that certainly could help :) Why thank you -giggles- I love todays for you as well. The tree and the cityscape make it XD

If you use fancy fabric and lacy elastic, then I can believe that! I used cotton lycra, and it was no more tricky than making shorts :P I used the "Scrundlewear" pattern from this site (link) and just did bands for the waist and legs (so no fiddling with elastic) ;)

Sometimes it can take a few adjustments just to get them perfect fitting - hopefully it won't be too much hassle to get back there for them to readjust them though :)

nods I have no idea how or why, but just that if you're short sighted then you need a lower prescription around the time you start needing progressives ;) I've had astigmatism since I was a child, so I think my glasses have always had some kind of adjustment for that in at least one lens :P I didn't have the adjustment in my contact lenses though, as that would've made them much pricier and the optician said that for just 4 hours wear a week (that was for kickboxing) it wasn't worth it :P

Thanks :d I wanted to add something into the foreground but I couldn't find anything that worked until I remembered the fairy garden stuff :D

That is a good point. :P Its not like my tension always stay the same, even with the same yarn and needles. :P

I def. sometimes feel like I am a bit of both sides.. I can be a chatterbox and other times a lot more withdrawn. lol

I am glad your uncle is doing better. :hugs: That is a big operation! No sight of any presents here yet, nope. Hopefully soon. :D I will let you know when it gets there. :D Speaking of, any wishes this year? I need to start planning soon! :)

I guess that depends on the knickers? LOL :) I would think your temples will hurt less once you get used to them. I remember that from when I got new glasses as well. :nods:

Dinner at my mums was nice. :) My brother and nieces stopped by too. :)

btw.. any christmas wishes? :) Its time for me to start planning. :nods:

hehe but then that's probably a much better balance than being either too chatty, or withdrawn all the time ;)

Hopefully that will arrive in the next day or two - that's been three and a bit weeks since it was posted (it's meant to take 5-7 days) o.O I don't know how your postal system works over there, but maybe it's sat waiting at the office for you to collect (it's too big to fit through a regular sized letter box)?

Erm good question! I'll have a think tonight and get back to you on that one! :D

Ah glad you did okay with those XD All done :) it wasn't bad at all we didn't get lost this time either lol. lol I think they were wise. That isn't worth updating for only 4 hours. Still pretty interesting. It looks fantastic!

lol I'll give you that :P I got them adjusted. They hurt too much almost right away today so went and had them fixed. She noticed they were indeed pushing on this sides too much. ooh awesome XD Hoping to get your package posted tomorrow. Hmm... I could really use some allergy friendly candle scents and a digital scale for weighing the wax.

candle scents digital scale

I'll have to think of some other things lol. But hey it's a start

I wouldn't even want to attempt sewing any "proper" knickers with elastic :P although one day I'm going to be really reckless and try making a bra (well, the pattern actually calls it a bralette so it's more like a bra-shared crop top kind of thing) just to see how I get on laughs

nods the contact lenses would have been at least twice the price (crazy, I know) to have the astigmatism correction included, so I was pleased the optician was happy with that ;) I haven't worn contact lenses for years now though - I don't think I look 'right' without glasses on 😊

That's a great busking look you've got today :D

Hope they are more comfortable now then. ^_^ Not much happening here.. stopped by the grocery store for some bread. Laundry and a couple of phonecalls. lol

I will take note of that. :D I do enjoy my scented wax burner. xD

I guess.. but must be weird to people that I can switch between pretty sudden at times. lol

Fingers crossed. 3 weeks seems like more than enough time to get it here. o-o My mailbox is not that big, so it might require me to pick it up. :)

That sounds good. :D

hehe but then it does make sure they're on their toes and paying attention ;)

I think 3 weeks is longer than it should've taken to come by road (and it was meant to go by air), so hopefully it's sitting waiting for collection! I always get a bit wary when I'm posting things for overseas, as there seems to be so many different places it can go missing before it actually arrives! 😊

LOL I like that. :D I am gonna stick to that story of keeping people on their toes. 👼

Yeah, it seems like a long time to me as well. o_O It does suck when stuff get lost, as you put a lot of time and money into sending something. :K The christmas rush is coming, so I figured I should get organized as well. lol At least I have some presents ready for my family. :)

😇

So far I've only had one package get totally lost when sending overseas, and I think two ended up being returned to sender (one person had moved, and the other was sent to the person's workplace and she'd left that job without me realising), but it just feels a lot more complicated than posting things over here :P ....although having said that, my cousin said he had something posted from England to his house (it was less than 100 miles) and it took 5 weeks to arrive o.O

That would be one for me.. we cant be so unlucky that it happens again. :nods: I will keep checking my mailbox. :) Its at least better when you get them returned, so that you dont lose the items as well as the cost of posting!

I'd forgotten about that one - make that three sent back (one from the US and one was an old work colleague who went back to Iran) ;) That's very true nods

Good luck with the bra, I heard they are hard too lol. Yeah I had looked at the cost of them when I needed glasses. I wasn’t sure I wanted to bother with them, especially at those prices :/ Oh thank you. XD. I was hiding the peddle haha. Yours is really cute with the bunny sweater.

they sure are XD thanks. Oh sounds so exciting XD Well I am planning on using the scents for candle making, and same for the scale. Lol. I do have an oil defuser though.

I've had a go at a crop-top style bra before, but I didn't get the stretch right (that was one of the first stretchy things I made) so it was too small to get on 😊 :P

laughs I was going to say it was a great way to cover that ;)

Thanks :d I nabbed it earlier and Niamh insisted on trying it out :D

You can buy molds and make your own soaps as well. xD My friend used to do that. ^_^ Candlemaking sounds good tho. xD I thought of scented wax that you burn for the smell- not the kind you use to make candles. My bad. lol

You do have the right adress, so they should be able to get it here. ;) :fingers and toes crossed: Not too long until I can bring out my christmas decorations, including the calendar you made me. :)

I made sure to write the address as clearly as possible too, given that it includes some letters that we don't normally have in addresses over here (it usually confuses the post office when they deal with overseas stuff o.O) I've got my lights up already, although I haven't switched them on yet :P

kicks profile comments for not working At least they've delayed Fireside in the hope they can get everything running smoothly before we start an event!

There was at least one other in the new released items thread, but this one was the only one that still had stock left in the shop when I checked yesterday (no idea if the seller is adding in more for Black Friday or not) - looks like they've got them saved ready to release for Black Friday ;)

glad its not just me lol.. I really hope so too. And for Lumi. -nods- that's what I'm waiting for but I'll probably play with it in the wardrobe first since it is so...pink LOL. But I love today's ha too.

My back is not happy but I just finished mum's advent calendar and I have all the pockets sewn on dad's. but I'm out of thread so I can't quilt the backing and sew together... well not in thread that'll look good LOL. I used the same thread for Mums and it ran out on the second to last pocket to sew... SO I totally cheated and used buttercream for the bobbin and took my sunshine yellow bobbin out and used on the top thread LOL. But that won't help me for the rest of it since all I have is the bobbin in that colour which I'll need to take with me to match

I guess there isn't really a good point for them to work on the site like that - there's always one event or another that's lurking in the wings ;) laughs it is a lot more pink than you would normally go for ;) And that was still yesterday's outfit :P Niamh's changed into today's one now ;)

Whoa, that's a lot of sewing done! :D Sod's law on the thread :K I try to keep some spare white to use for the bobbin (as long as it kind of matches the backing / lining of whatever I'm sewing), so I can save the other colours for the top 😇 Hopefully it won't be too hard to match up what you've got left though, so you can get on and finish his advent calendar as well :D

sits and admires the very Spring-like look you've got today all that layers amazingly well! :D
