girl you have no idea the nightmare yesterday was lmao. traffic was horrible (especially for a Saturday) the lines were awful, parking lots full and just plan evil trying to get through and buy a few things. I went to three shops and one of them I didn't bother stopping at when I saw the parking lot lines. and that was after spending 20 minutes getting through all the pedastrians that didn't pay attention and walked in front of my car. every one of my three or is it four days of shoppign have been miserable because of back to school. So hopefully potatoes won't be ghastly.

that's crazy!! Is it literally just the back to school rush, or does everyone know something you don't, and they're all stockpiling everything?! :P Over here, it's just the coachloads of tourists everywhere - either a guided tour round the city centre where they're all following someone with a large umbrella (the only way they can make themselves easy to spot), or gaggles of foreign language students all just hanging around outside the cheap clothing shop while they wait for the others to catch up :P

It's ok if they move out of the way, but they tend to just stand there and not move. I've taken to walking with my hand in my pocket so I stick my elbow out - they can either move, or get elbowed.... their choice 😇

Its always nice to be able to see things in person. :) One reason why I prefer buying yarn in local shops too.. colours etc can show very different on your computer monitor. :)

yeah, I've seen several online shops that seem to stock the same fabric, but it looks a totally different shade on each site, and I can imagine it looks even more different again when you actually see it in person!

Its nice to be able to feel them too, for fabrics and yarn. :) Some fabrics just feels icky on the skin- and I hate itchy wool. lol

yeah, I've bought some fabrics online before and realised they weren't quite what I expected when they arrived.... like the denim I bought in the same - I was hoping it'd be jeans-weight, but it's more like a lightweight denim jacket / heavy shirt. I'll still be able to use it, but not for the original idea I had in mind :K
