yeah, I feel much the same with expensive fabric to be honest! I'm happiest when I can sew with something that didn't cost much as it takes a lot of pressure off to make it 'perfect' ;) ....although maybe I should just average out the fabric prices - for every few I make that are stupidly cheap (like £5 of denim to make a pair of jeans, which is a bargain compared to what they cost in the shops!) maybe I should make something from a more expensive fabric just so I stop being quite so scared of it!

it really is epic! thanks lol I decided to do the monster mash too :D
oh yes mega fun
Indeed. At least the appointmetn went well! :)
I can see that. Fabric can get really expensive I imagine! Like with yarn there is so much to choose from too! I think giving a more expensive type of fabric a go, would be a good idea. :) If you find something that you feel is worth it. )

I couldn't come up to your Frankenstein's monster HA, so here's my version of Monster Mash ;) (I was tempted to 'mash' several monsters together, but I couldn't work out how to achieve that :P)
yeah, there's some things that need a hard wearing and not too pricey kind of fabric (especially if it's clothing that I know will get 'hard' wear!), but there's some things like bags and coats in particular, which could work really well in a more expensive fabric ;)
I was sewing the hood on my new hoodie today.... and ended up with the neckline being too small :K I've managed to stretch it (I heard some stitches snap as I did that 😊) so I can get it over my head, but it's still a little snug to take off comfortably sigh And it's not going to be possible to unpick those stitches to do that bit again (the stitches I've used are almost impossible to unpick)

glad it went well :D
sorry. -hides- but yours does look cute. theme: superhero/villain
laughs well who's to say that monsters can't be cute :P ;)
wonders if there's any superhero capes lurking in my wardrobe

Magnus' haunted portrait looks fantastic! :D
hehe well hopefully this is recognisable as a particular superhero!= :P

I suppose more expensive fabric can be worth it for clothes a well, but only if it means its more durable. :) Sadly prie and quality does not always match up. ;)
Aww, that is a shame with the hoodie. Maybe you can try again with some new fabric and adjust it a bit? hugs I got done with one hat last night, plan on starting on the second today. :)
Got one hat done last night too.. gonna start the second one today. :)

nods there's some really expensive fabrics that I don't think would be any more durable than the cheaper ones!
Unfortunately this one is a blog post project - they gave me the fabric in exchange for me making something and blogging about it ;) So I have to make it work somehow! But I might see about buying some sweatshirt fleece before the end of the year, so I can make a warmer version of that hoodie ;)
That's great going on the hat! :D Hopefully the second one goes as smoothly :D :D

thanc. Bat girl? Theme: Voldemort bahaha
oh wow that was fast!
close, it was Batwoman (although it wasn't easy to find the right coloured items - I thought I'd add in the bat to make it easier to identify her :P)
oooo watches Niamh run away and refuse to be the one dressing up for Voldie that's going to be an interesting one! dives into the wardrobe
I love the nightmarish look you've got today :D

batgirl/batwoman itz the same...i think o.0 Lol well its a great turn out xd. Thanks. Didnt have any ideas lol. Theme: fav costume as a kid.
Its the same with yarn, cheap yarn often works just as well as the more expensive brands/types. :)
Ohh, I would love a hoodie with fleece! Sounds so comfy! Hopefully the next one will go more smoothly. :)
Thanks, the pattern is not as simple as the first one, but I think I will be okay. :)
That is one thing I like about hats.. they dont take too long compared to many other things. Plus, you can knit in the round, which is very easy compared to double pointed needles. xD

laughs it's all the same in the end :P
saves that one for tomorrow :D
sometimes the more pricey ones aren't as nice to the touch either ;)
Those ones can be really warm and cosy :d I've got some with a brushed fleece backing, and others with almost a furry style fleece backing (the furry one is warmer), so those would be my ultimate favourites for a winter's hoodie! :D
hands you some patience

Hehe.. I refuse to wear fabrics that are not comfortable. ;)
I would love to have something like that myself, but have not seen anything like it in stores. Just regular hoodies without the fleece. :)

yeah, a lot of shop bought ones are the same look of the fabric on the inside as the outside - they're ok but when it gets really cold they just aren't snuggly enough! ;)

I'm not sure I'm going to post in the next several days. I'm not really in the best place at the moment
Paddy, if you want a theme for Halloween day, I guess trick or treat.
that's an awesome skeleton look you've got today :d
And I hope you're feeling more like yourself soon squishes
