Eh...we manage, some better than others but we find ways to cope with life. :)

Mmmmm...chocolate layer cake. That would help solve a lot of problems or at least make them better, right? :)

I have been, for the past few days, trying something to make my life seem more..meaningful, I suppose you could say. After watching some videos especially by a man calling himself 'Samurai Matcha' I decided to try some of the things he and others mentioned; one is washing my face first thing in the morning with Noxema, brushing my teeth with warm water (or diluted mouthwash), making my bed after airing it out for a bit, cleaning the toilet once a day (or try to), eating at the table rather than at the computer, giving thanks to my environment for supporting me and other things and while it may seem silly to some it already seems to be helping. Even putting the dishes away after washing them rather than just letting them sit seems to make a difference too!

I suppose it could even be called a magical ritual as I am trying to do things in a -at the risk of sounding sickeningly cliche- mindful way. I focus just on the task at hand and instead of grumbling I keep in mind that all these tasks are all part of normal daily life and it contributes to the well-being of myself, my kitties and the home environment.

I have noticed already that I tend to wake up earlier and feel a bit more rested and at night then at night before I slip under the blankies I wash my face again with glycerine soap, brush my teeth, do a little communing at my alter then turn in. In a way it is magical as I try to keep a positive mindset as I do things and I find that I actually like doing the cleaning in intermittent segments (Me and my back tire quickly) and cooking as well. Even when I made a quick batch of refrigerator pickles I enjoyed preparing the veggies and brine, packing the jars then pouring my brine. I knew why I was doing it and it wasn't just for the pits and giggles but to learn more about food preservation and having something for the winter too!

Sorry for the rambling but life out there is not fun for me so I am finding things here in my home to do that will enhance my daily life and will think of more things to do to help bring that magical energy in.
