I have read you have an understanding in The Craft... What I really hate is those new witches calling them selves "baby witches" as what I was taught since I was little is a baby witch is only up to the age of 5 years old and then becomes a youthful witch or young witch. If your new to Witch Craft or The Craft you are a young witch not a "baby witch". This is my opinion and as far as I can tell many witches of my age. And yes this IS a big B*tch of mine for many many years So Mote It Be!!!

I am way too old to be a baby anything. I am agnostic but I am drawn to Pagan and Wicca. I have read about both for years but I have never actually done a ritual. I hope I am still welcome here.

I do not think any one here would be upset if you did not practice or have not done a ritual/casting. I think if your just looking for more information this is good place to start. Ask questions and make statements, inquire to people if they answer great if they do not, then please do not push as many witches like to remain very private and do not talk of anything. Always be careful of scammers out there as there is out there even in our witchy world.

my 1st book was Ride a Silver Broomstick by Silver RavenWolf. I now own 3 copies of this book and enjoyed it greatly. I would recommend it for your reading. PS how do you do those cups in your posts??? PSS--- You are never TOOOOO OLD for anything you choose to do, even Wicca or Witchcraft. EVER!!!

I have to be honest in that I never heard of the term 'baby witch' so that must be a newly invented term. To be honest I am not that familiar with the craft but what I do know is that many think that all they have to do is read some books, repeat some chants and that makes them a witch but it goes WAY deeper than that but most books don't go far enough.

Have you ever watched the anime "FullMetal Alchemist'? In alchemy there is a codified rule called 'Equivalent Exchange' meaning that in order to obtain something of equal value must be given/lost. Which I think can be applied to practically everything in life; in short it is intention and effort that is the currency and not simply reading a book or acquiring crystals..without personal effort, work and intention then nothing gets accomplished.

As for books..I read a few but -and you may be upset with me when I say it but- Silver Ravenwolf has written a lot of questionable stuff. One was in regards to cats, for example claiming that black cats were evil and if they had even a tiny bit of white on them then they were ok. To me it was irresponsible to write such erroneous stuff because it could lead to people, especially young people, abusing an animal because of its fur color.

One book that was pretty good and I wish I still had was called 'The Witches Shield' by Christopher Penczak..that one was fairly level-headed. There are other good ones out there too.

Also look up Scott Cunningham..I had a few of his books and they were good too

I like the author Starhawk. I read her book Dreaming the Dark.

I vaguely remember that name. Not sure if I ever had her book though so I might look into that one.

I do not trust Cunningham any more , I have found too many mistakes in his books to believe what he says about anything. His one book on Runes had 8 mistakes in it and I was so upset by the time done I gave all his books to the library.
Starhawk is a brilliant writer with great eye for detail and a way with writing makes you want to learn and understand and to learn more. I have 6 of her books in my library so far. "Baby witches" have been around for about 8 to 10 years that is when I remember hearing people talk. The term would make my grandma turn in her grave.... sounds so sickening. wish people would use the right terminology when they speak. Of course Witchcraft goes way deeper then just reading a chant or saying the words, and expecting something to happen right now. There is what is in side you and how you believe and the understanding of what your about to do, the cause and the effect of what your about to do.
How the ritual or spell or hex will effect the out come and yourself once done. Being a Witch or studying Witchcraft is not just picking up a book and doing spells/rituals, it is a life time commitment to an understanding of your believe and love of the Gods and Goddesses. How you think is as good and what you think. Cause and effect.

I really did like the book I read by Starhawk. I saw the woman who wrote Drawing Down the Moon on the Phil Donahue show. That really dates me. lol I am 62. I remember being very intrigued by her and her book. The book will no doubt be very dated but it was good.

Above is just a few that might interest you. I have many more I can suggest if you want, I own over 900 books now. more then some libraries.

Reading will have to wait a bit. Depression has made it difficult to focus on reading. I am doing other things I used to like so I can get back to the things I loved.

Oh I do understand how you feel, I have had depression and serious Anxiety since 2001 when my dad passed over the rainbow bridge. My anxiety gets the best of me at times but I have pushed through it most times. I do hope you will be strong through your depression and if you ever need to talk please come and do so, I have been there. If reading is an issue maybe try a tape or recorded book you can get them from your library most times. they are quite kool to listen too. I found that reading or cooking, gardening or doing my crochet helps it subside and leave me alone. Keeping your hands busy and mind active, try not to let it get the best of you.

I have found that this web site and another pet site, are comforting. I have been listening to music on Pandora. There are so many types of music to listen to there. TikTok has some good creators whose videos I enjoy.

Rofl, my hubby loves Tik Tok, he could spend hours on that site watching crazy videos. LOL I am on Neopets and Marapets if you ever want to come chat there as well. I find this site to be the best so far above all others.
I listen to Sirius radio--- Ozzy's Boneyard such great music, real music, none of this new age garbage they play now. We don't have normal cable TV here we use ROKU it has everything......almost everything. I spend most of my free time with a cup of tea and a WC book of some sort or another in my lap.

I gave up on Neopets. I haven't heard of Marapets. I love science fiction, fantasy, horror, mysteries, and Michael Crichton books.

Neopets have been taken over by a new group of people and has changed quite alot in the last 6 to 8 months, you should check it out again and see what you can see, you might like it better. Marapets is a lot like Subeta but different and fun, not a boring type of site. Though I will say a money hungry type site, for EVERYTHING is high prices not at all like Subeta, but yet the people are friendly and the site is fun. As much as I should be some-whatly interested in horror of some kind I am not, it kicks my anxiety in to high gear and freaks me out badly, but I do love ghost hunters and Kindred Spirits shows. they are kool and interesting. I love mystery shows and all history shows, & shows about real MAGICK, not magic, no matter what it is, though do love egyptian or alien shows the best.

I am checking out both sites.
