YAAAASSSSS I was going to ask on my first comment but I wasn't sure if you are still in winter time or already moved in to spring xD

I am actually talking to my friend so she can bring me some stuff from home so I can grow it! I am working on starting a blog and trying recipes in the near future so I kind of want a small garden so i can do that! I am going to grab my overalls and gloves and meet you in the garden! <3

, LOL Thanks! I've been 'witchy' so long, that I even have friends who call me that in "real life" hahahaaa I've actually had mail come to "Witchy" and it was delivered!! LOL

and the doctors always ask me how i'm doing with it. i tell them i have a great support system. my facebook friends (my real ones) really help me. giving me a boost when i need it. (heh. half of them, play here) they 'show me the love' so i don't feel like i'm alone. it's hard when you're housebound. (no vehicle and hard to walk, and you live in the boonies) heh

ACK! , Only if they are Designer Pale Green Jeans. hahahaaaaa! I'm such a 'city girl' my poor husband was SO fooled. cause i used to run around barefoot all the time. he thought i was a Country Girl. :D and all the "home cooking" he got, was my GRANDMOTHER! hahahaaa

but 'city' has my heart. :D well. i shouldn't say that. i do miss the trees and woods something fierce, when i did live to close to the city (usually the 'outskirts') /right outside of dallas. right outside of DC/ heh. Right outside of Baltimore! hahahaaa

but i do love me veggies. and i tried to ask for things that i knew i could can, or that i was always having him buy at the store. i wanted eggplant, but he said, for the price, it was just easier to buy them at the store.

and since i'm so "housebound" /can hardly walk at all/ he knew i wouldn't be able to take care of a garden. but i've been asking for plants to grow in "containers on my porch"

now if i can just get him to get me some flowers :D

if i do good this year, I may ask for more stuff next year. it's the herbs i really want to keep growing. (and the cherry tomatoes!!! omg!! i've discovered pickled tomatoes, and CAN'T STOP EATING THEM!)

, OH MAN!! when you start the blog, TELL ME! i'll make sure I bookmark it and keep up with it! i LOVE those type of things. and you'll have to instagram it all!! (heh. i've started doing that with the foods i make)

Herbs are usually pretty hearty as long as they get enough sun. There are lots of things that can be grown in pots. Not that I have had much success. I am not an outdoor person in the summer. It gets too hot in Kansas for me. Above 80 is too hot.

, oh man. i can understand that! since i've moved to this place, I think it's the flowering trees, but my sinus has made it almost impossible for me to go outside. heh. just opening the door to let my dog outside, makes my head explode, at times (especially in the spring) lol but it seems like all year, especially during the summer, sinus bothers me.

i need to move to arizona. lol but i already miss the ocean something fierce. :D :D

and that's what i'm hoping. on the herbs. i now one year, i had a tomato plant, basil, and garlic growing on my porch, and i used to go out and snip a bit of everything, grab a tomato or 2, and fix myself a 'sauce' for some noodles. MAN was it good. and i felt like no matter what, i would always have a "meal" if i couldn't get to the store.

now to just learn how to make pasta. lol or gnocchi's. I'd LOVE to learn how to make that! (and yes, i have recipes for both. i've just never tried it yet)

:D

kansas should be a good growing spot, shouldn't it?

Yes you'll have to let us know about the blog so we can follow along! You already have the cutest instagram out there! <3

I'm happy in deep urban or deep rural environments, it's the burbs that bring me down, but of course I bought a house in the burbs...oh well...I love my crazy haunted house!!!

My plants are all doing well, but none are allowed outside yet, maybe soon, if the weather holds nice. I have an altar that wants African violets and one that wants orchids so I have some tricky plants in my future. Makes me nervous. And for some strange reason, I want some big fat spider plants to hang around the house, add some hominess, I guess.

I'm getting ready for some medical tests tomorrow and it is no fun. I so get the can't walk part. I can't get anywhere without my cane, and then it is a real struggle. I made a HA that looks like me IRL except I don't have my dreads back from the big religious haircut of last August...not yet, but soon, very soon...

(heh. i want dreads. lol) /but i'm going to finally get my hair cut. SHORT! heh. or it will be shoulder length. lol that's really short for me/

OH OH OH , what's 's instagram!! i want to follow her! (i'm going to be getting off line soon. reheating some meatballs in tomato red wine sauce, and it's SO GOOD!) lol

ouch on the middle tests. i finally got a cane. i don't use it around the house, but i'll use it when i go out (mainly doctors. heh)

oooo, I LOVE spider plants!! i'm finally getting mine to start looking like an actual spider plant again. (it was down to nothing but a few little sprouts)

and i don't really have any of my 'house plants' outside. well. i did take out a couple. my coleus. that i actually grew from seeds!! (SHOCK!) and my 'tree' heh. i forget what kind of plant it is. but it has a stalk that has like '3' of them wrapped around each other. and the leaves are spread out, like a schefflera.

omg. i LOVE both the african violets and the orchids! i've never grown an orchids, and the african violet i had, died on me. :( i'd love to try again. especially since i have such great windows (for the african violet)

my philodendron that i broke pieces off of, and put in a 'globe' full of water and just sit the plants in that, is really growing well in the bathroom. its doing exactly what i want it to. it's gotten a lot of roots and it's nice and bushy, sitting on a shelf with the window light coming in all the time.

i HAD to have something like that. it seems all the 'females' in my family (on my mothers side) always have a philo, in the bathroom in a "glass of water" growing like that. :D

and the one I had from my grandmother, when i moved out of her house, (and is over 40 years old!) i was able to save. i thought for sure, i wasn't going to be able to get any more life out of the cuttings. but i did. so i'm really happy with them.

it's the other plants i have trouble with! lol

i need more "round leaf" plants. would love to try a jade plant.

Why cut it when you can dread it?!!!!! :D

I have a perfect window for African violets and a tea table to set them on, but I know they can be tricky...and orchids...just shut the front door...they are hard!!!! but I gotta try to manage somehow. This religion requires you to grow a lot of things for sure. I have a really weird bromeliad growing in the downstairs bathroom. I call it Lovecraft (after the author, not after Lady Love)

Jade plants are easy! Give one a try! Enjoy your meatballs in red wine sauce they sound amazing!

I have a few IG's! They are on hold while I move but yeah! I have a business one, a planning/fandom one, and the new one for my blogging/vlogging. I am all about that holisitic living ^_^ (business is blissfuldaisies, planning and the one I use the most is desiloveswashi, and the blog one is everydaydesi) :D

Pagan, the new blog will be a full on blog/YouTube. I am still doing the research and work behind the scenes but it is a lifestyle/food based blog. It is all about my journey into getting better and the struggles of depression and you know life.

hhmmmmm. i remember how important light was for the african violet. and supposedly if you mist the orchid every day, it should be ok. (like i said, i've never gotten one to grow, but it's on my 'bucket list') :D

yah. i guess i get it from my grandmother and my mom. they always had a house full of plants. my mom's living room in her apt, always looked like a jungle, she had this terrific wall of windows, and the whole wall had plants sitting in front of it. it was so awesome. and my grandmother, during the winter, her basement, that had a sliding glass door, was full of her "porch plants" lol the whole room. hahahaaa

when i lived in texas, i had some awesome plants growing. but since i've been here (heh. for 30 years now) i've lived in "dark" places. and never had a lot of plants. that's why i love this house so much. (especially now that the hunting dogs are gone) the windows are awesome. lol i just need more furniture, to hold the plants! and MORE Plants! hahahaaaa :D

my user name is lynn.geri i love washi!! lol well. i think i do. i want some SO bad! i've got about 20 different kinds on my 'amazon list' (hahahaa that's my list "save for cart later") (i've got over 200 items on that list) :D :D :D

I don't have good windows for growing anything. I have a bunch of trees in my yard and the neighbors have lots of trees. I am going to get some new peace lilies and try again. They should work. Mom had a green thumb.

I packed my washi tape... I have over 150 rolls. I had to decide which ones go with me and which ones go to storage. It was heart breaking! I have for every occasion lol I use it to mark stuff. I really do love washi xD I do need Harry Potter washi. I seem to have missed them all lol

yeah. , that's how it was in the previous houses i lived in. (also i had kids, and they kind of took up my life. lol, THEN i discovered computers and the internet, and I was lucky to do any personal hygiene, let alone feed my kids, or take care of plants) hahahaaa

oh good luck with those! lol i've nevver had any luck with them. really, if you could (and you wanted a "plant" in the house) a philondren might be your best bet. only because they're pretty easy to grow, and don't need a lot of light.

or rather, sitting near a window, and remember to check the dirt to make sure it's not dry/giving it water, and it will pretty much live through any thing. heh. :D

omg. SO MANY ROLLS!! lol i would have washi'd every thing i own!! hahahaaaaa in fact, i had plans to do my dresser. give it a different look. and i thought i could do the drawers at least. nothing 'all over' but "trim" type of stuff.

(i'll have to keep an eye out for potter washi, for ya)

My Elders tell me to mist them every day and keep them well watered. We shall see what happens. I love this house for growing things because it has 3 sunrooms if you can believe that! Only 1 is a true modern sunroom with the skylights and all sliding glass doors, the other 2 are old fashioned sun porches, just small rooms entirely of windows, great for plants!!!

I follow your desiloveswashi IG mind if I add the other 2? I am so glad to chat with you (((HUGS))))

It must be peaceful to live surrounded by trees, I never have, but I imagine it must be terribly cozy.

We have had peace lilies for a long time and they did well but I think they have reached the end of their life span. I will get one and see if it thrives but I will try a philodendron.

The trees are lovely for the shade, The only problem is that we have lots of oak trees where I live. Where there are oak trees, there are oak mites. Dang things make you itchy for weeks.

I only heard about them a couple of years ago. They are very small and are carried with the wind. The sheer number of them in the wind means that walking from the house to your car can get you at least one bit. I am glad you don't have them. In the grand scheme of things they are just annoying.

, heh. we used to live in the middle of pines. pines pines and a few dogwoods and redbuds. i used to have deer come right up to the house. I mean RIGHTUPTOTHEHOUSETHISCLOSE. lol

got a picture of a baby fawn, i mean BABY with the spots still on her, one time.

now we live more in "pasture land" and the trees seem to be 'flowering' types (that's the only thing i can figure out, that's different and have made my sinus worse)

omg , I WOULD LOVE A HOUSE LIKE THAT! seriously! the problem is..... "Hows the heating and air? IS There any air?" heh. my daughters apartment is in a OLD building. i absolutely love the windows, they HUGE floor to ceiling. problem is. the heat is crap (there practically isn't any) and she had to get a window AC for any kind of air. (plus the laudrey roomm is crap) but it did for her, while she was in school. (right across from the university). and she doesn't grow any thing any way.

lol she's to busy "living her life" she says, if she ever gets "in the mood to have a kid, i'll get a plant"

hahahaaaaa.

Living around a lot of trees is ok. but i'd rather have people around me. at least a little closer than half a mile away. lol

(especially now that i'm an old women. hahahaaaa)
