It's the weekend so we're likely to be busy catching up on chores/housework and running errands. I'm a mama of two (18y old son and soon to be 12y old daughter), and my SO and I have been together for 7.5yrs. He works construction & helps with rental properties, I am an online reseller. We live in a small town of 9k and have what I like to call "an urban homestead". It keeps us pretty busy, especially as I prefer to do a lot of things by hand and from scratch for a number of reasons, including witchy ones. There's something so soothing about creating, you know?

Hope you both had a great evening? It is still snowing, By Goddess I wish it would stop... oh now sleeting. (Snow and Rain) I hate snow and the cold that comes with it, but love to be warm in the house and watch it threw the window coming down.

It will be unseasonably warm here for a few days. I would rather have a longer real winter to kill bugs and such. It is nice to watch snow if you don't have to go out.

Yes sitting and watching it snow or rain is the best. Though I love sitting out side when it is raining on a warmer day or watching the stars at night after a long rain, it is gorgeous...

I am trying to find ways to incorporate the elements of Air and Fire in my workings. These two elements seem to be my strongest ones apparently because even when I was younger (much younger :) ) I used to dream that I could 'cast' wind tunnels from my hands and breathe fire. So candles and incense seem to be the best choices for my altar but to keep the balance I have a bunch of stones including quartz crystals on it too but I need to find something that represents water as well.

Years ago when I had an altar I made sure it was positioned in such a way that the western sun was shining on it as much as possible and of course at that time I had a room that had a west and south facing window so it got lots of sunlight and got moonlight too.

Now I just have a west facing window but it seems to work out ok for now.

Someone mentioned Draco Malfoy and I have to agree that I do feel sorry for him, I never thought he was evil but just a confused kid that seemed to have a sad home life...I don't know....

Anyways for some reason the evening sun always seems to make me feel better; the evening itself in general seems to make me feel somewhat better than any time of the day. Weird I guess....

Air and fire is my hubby and I, I am air and hubby is fire.... great combo. for sure. I love Harry Potter too, But I am a Charmed Girl,,, and only the original Charmed, not the new COPY junk!!!

My Altar has always BEEN IN THE NORTHEN FACING AREA OF MY LIBRARY, AND HAS WORKED FOR ME FOR OVER 6 YEARS NOW. ( sorry caps stuck) I really depends on the person you are and how you feel things should be to better self and inner being. it is not always what you may read or what other may tell you. though I did listen very closely when my grand ma spoke about magick and other very interesting things.

There is a 'new' Charmed? I just know of the Charmed with the original sisters but the show did seem to change when they killed off one of them (or was there more that got eliminated)

I kinda liked Cole because he broke the mold (eventually) of the worn out depiction of demons and then there was that other demon who traded his immortality to be mortal like a human and was kinda a bit quirky too but again showed that it is up to the person to decide how they are going to be.

I wish I had a grandma as awesome as yours was. Mine (on my moms adopted side) was pretty neat too..a real spitfire at times. I only met my one grandma on my dads side once and i wish I could have met with her more often but...me being in the U.S and she was in Switzerland in assisted living it was hard.

Anyways I am now trying to arrange things here as best I can to facilitate the flow of energy especially where my room and altar is concerned; it's tricky but I'll figure something out.

Yeah there was a new Charmed with different sisters type. they were horrible, I thought even though I watched for about 6 or 8 months then it was so bad I shut it off.... Now I look in the 2nd hand stores for all the Original Charmed videos so I can keep them on hand to watch when I want. because you never see on tv any more unless you PAY for something. Yes agree Cole was a cool person on the show, but I liked the shows with the kids whether they were only small or adults it was a good show. Also loved the shows that taught you something, not just fighting and showing off a new outfit....lol The flow of energy in a room is very important and the flow of healing is also important. if it is not there there is no balance.

I just wish my own room was bigger as the basic energy is acceptable enough, might rearrange my room...again :) Another problem is there is no actual pantry or walk-in pantry to store the foods in; I have to store them on a shelf in the living room and while it is fairly neat it doesn't really fit but I have no choice unless I can put the shelf in my moms room..we'll see.

Also drying another batch of peppermint too, I was not as meticulous with preparing them as I see on the net, I took the largest leaves off the main stem but left most of the leaves on the spindly stems intact AND I am also drying the flowers too.

Seems my cat, Spot, likes to get up on my altar when I am not looking and know my chunk of amethyst off then bat it around a bit. Weird cat....

Cats do play with all sorts of things in the house, as they get bored with there own stuff so they have to play with our stuff and bat them around until we can't find them. Brats!

That is what I need to do is play witht ehm more so they don't do stuff like that but...my mom let them get away with behaviors that I cannot condone like getting up on the counters (they're getting better with that) and stuff. Spot is very stubborn so trying to get her to stop doing junk like that is challenging. Callie is a bit better but still does naughty stuff because Spot double-dog dares her to do so! :D

My cat used to double dare me in to all sorts of silly stuff. But that is the way cats are , all cats are silly like that for some reason.

I really cannot imagine my life without a kitty (or two), they are quite unique when you pay attention to what they do and how they behave. Sometimes I get the distinct impression when I talk to them and they look at me that there is something else behind those eyes than just an animal....

Yes intelligence beyond our scope of thinking as a human being....
