Hello everyone! happy May Day if you all celebrate it. Ive read back, Im late on because I got into watching 'Great British bake off for comic relief' basically they get 4 people in to cook various items and theres a winner at the end, there is a normal program, but this was extra good because of the funny folks they had on. I loved reading about all the growing thats going on! I used to do a bit of gardening, but my joints got too achey, [yes Im an old fogey too] And Ive just got back into cooking more wholesome food, Mm im gonna put a bit about me so this doesnt sound so ...
I live in England Im married with 2 grown girls and a grandson, between us we have got various ailments,we've got 2 dogs. I'm retired and rather lazy nowadays, I used to work until 9pm and just got out of the habit of cooking, but I pushed myself lately as my hubbys diabetes is kicking his butt, so we've got to stop wit the rubbish and eat less sweet/processed stuff, and do you know? once I gave myself a telling off and sorted my kitchen [3 years out of date tins in the cupboards! ] Im actually rather enjoying it, Im following witchys footsteps by roasting tons of veg, with rosemary and sage and getting good meat from the butchers slow cooking that, and its lovely.
I recently had my hair cut 2" all over I love it, feels so cool.
Sorry for the long ramble! I sat reading worrying that I would have nothing to say, but there it all is like a river of stodge lol. Oh Im a lazy typer too, for my shame. I also try to be amusing but worry it gets misunderstood. [BR] STOP FOR GOODNESS SAKE
Well I have a bazillion cats I think. And only one dog now.
If I probably just sat and typed things going on I would probably be able to type out a novel of things that are going on in life for me. SO its kewl :) I like cooking shows. Been watching old episodes of Iron Chef lately.
La
You keep me tickled, and you know I need it today! Because this is SO NOT FUN!!! Have the dogs had a bark at the telly yet today? My poor old dog is a bit off these past couple days, just mostly sleeping, I think she might be beginning to fade on us, we had to wake her for dinner last night!!!!
Today was a beautiful Spring day and the ornamental lime tree bloomed like crazy-I don't know how they do it...overnight? There wasn't a bloom on it yesterday! But it is gorgeous and smells great...and of course I'm allergic to it, but I'm trying to love it anyway.
Our cat is such an idiot. Right now she is meowing and rubbing against the dog as if she thinks the dog will pet her...
I have a bazillion bikini wax
But only one cat...It was a joke that apparently went wide nvr mind.
Just keep thinking it will all be over soon, it will be Wednesday before you know it, and you're doing a good thing. yes im keen to know what bazilion bikini wax might mean? AHH I got it! its the front bottom! . I wonder how long they will let this thread live?
I just wanted to know what a bazillion bikini wax would look like. HAHA
Let the thread live? I haven't seen one murdered before...well for a long time.
Not long if I keep making jokes that don't land! ;)
Been bingeing on the old original Japanese Iron Chef myself lately. It is so epic!
Ill have to try and find iron chef ive never heard of it.
Im not sure I could handle the Japanese version. The one I am watching whenever Bobby Flay or Alex Bornacelli loses I am like WHAT?!?! How?! LOL
Give the Japanese version a whirl sometime! It is hysterical and amazing! You get so much background on the ingredients! Oh and Bobby Flay comes in against the Japanese Iron Chefs and WINS once! And you are all like wait...wut?
Poor Bobby. LOL
I watch to much tv I think . HAH
Oooooohhhhh
You gotta try it it is insane!!!! I love the old Japanese version, and Lovecraft is a fan of the newer American version but both are good!
Oh no! Say it isn't so!!!!!
I just commented to ask where should I start watching it, i can get it on you tube i expect.
yup lurking, sorry :P A friend came over and startled my dogs, one of whom I tried to pick up and comfort and she repaid me by peeing...all over. the comforter, me, my shoes....it's a good thing she's so darned cute. so laundry done, shower accomplished, shower water divvied up for the trees...nap time? :P I am also loving spring and all the magic of things popping up seemingly overnight. we had a pretty bad fire here this winter (house etc are fine, just the surrounding area, seriously if you look on a map it's like a donut, with us in the middle, just nuts), and it seems to make things bloom more, or maybe it's just the juxtaposition of going from charred-ness to vibrant green-ness. Normally I don't even bother trying to garden because historically my green thumb is...well, lacking utterly. But this year I have a volunteer grape vine (that sprouted out of nowhere in a potted xmas tree i killed), volunteer sunflower, cinnamon basil (holy lord and lady, that scent!!!), two azaleas and one hydrangea. so far I haven't killed anything! :D although something is pecking away at the poor grapevine >:( ah cooking shows. did anybody watch sweet genius? i'm a fan of faceoff myself. all that creativity, holy moly.
TV is good. I'm still macking on Tony Bourdain all the time....
I'd start at the beginning, but I'm orderly like that. It is especially helpful with the Japanese version because they add more information about the Iron Chefs from time to time and it helps you to understand their strengths.
Something is pecking 's grapevine....as a former gardener and an avid birder have you got anything to add here?
Aww hun, sorry about the startled dog! But the trees got watered! (Are you in Cali?) Be an optimist. The brownest thumbs will turn green if you keep trying-mine finally did! That cinnamon basil sounds heavenly!!!!!!! I can not even imagine that fragrance, but I bet it pleases the heavens!
I can't imagine going through a fire like that! I'm glad you and yours are safe and all is greening up!
I enjoy watching Lucifer played by Tom Ellis. He is yummy.
Oh my gosh - I forgot to sub the thread and wondered why I wasn't getting any updates all day! I'm so happy to see the party going on.
I can relate to the lack of a green thumb ;-; . I want to grow things so bad but I've killed a succulent before lol. Also I love you and you're sweet.
I just googled it, Im not used to places where grapes might grow! it looks like it could be a lot of things animals or insects, it did say that if you spray insecticides it might kill the insect predators that kill the bad insects. Im sorry I cant help more. We see the fires on TV over here, it must be horrendous, you were really lucky to be in that circle but it must be devastating to see everything and your neighbours in such a state, its pretty bland here, which Im often grateful for!
Lovecraft I watched the first episode of Lucifer it looked different and interesting.
