Don’t blame yourself too hard, things like this happen. C’est la vie! Haven’t we all had things comparable to this happening?

I hope you had a lovely holiday with your family. That is far more important. As far as it concerns me: take your time. I have no problem waiting this out. In whatever way it will turn out, I'm happy. I celebrated Luminaire in others way than just the tree, so I'm a happy panda anyway!

Yeah, no problem! If it was everyone from 20-25th, I imagine that would require A LOT of maintenance given all the last minute gifting people tend to do (myself included haha). xD

The stocking bug hit me with 3400+ events and items. For the days that the bonus quests were available, I wasn't able to play the site at all because my inventory and anything that requires the inventory gave me bad gateway pages. Aside from knowing my roommate, , gave me a ton and a half of gifts, I likely won't know who else to thank. And, since the gifts have to be manually re-inserted, maybe stuff will get lost in the shuffle (though I'm pretty confident it won't).

Other games' support would have left me hanging for months on end. Or never responded at all. Meanwhile, Subeta not only helped me clear my inventory out as soon as was holiday-possible, but gave me the Melody items I was forced to miss out on and is taking such care to try and fix everything else. So I'm personally satisfied with the response time and treatment I've gotten so far.

BUT, having gone through all that, I can empathize with anyone that's feeling a lot stressed and on edge about it. I hope we can all extend a bit of understanding and patience to one another this holiday season. Hugs for everybody. o/

Sad to hear that some data is 100% gone, but at least relieved we got an update! Here's to a less chaotic luminaire in 2016! :D

Really appreciate the info update , hope this didn't put a damper or add stress to your IRL holiday :) Whilst there was a mistake that affected a lot of users, staff aren't 24/7 working machines - I think definitely deserved time with her family, people need holidays!

For me, this is nothing compared to when the site went down for 3 solid days several years back. Things happen. We will get our gifts when we get them. I'm just glad Subeta is still here and we can still play and for all the hard work that is put into the site. I've been on this site from pretty much the beginning and have seen it progressively change for the better. So thank you for all your hard work and I look forward to my gifts when I get them.

- thank you for the explanation of what happened and what to expect. Mistakes happen, and this is not all your fault. One of the things I like most about Subeta is the way mistakes are handled. Personally, I think it's great that you did not take your laptop and your work with you when you went home for Christmas. Obviously, you didn't know this glitch was going to happen. You and the other Subeta staff work hard taking care of this site and all its users, and really deserve to have your personal time be just that. Nobody should be tied to their work 24/7. Take your time and get things as back to normal as possible and please remember to spend some time enjoying the holiday season. While I understand this is a big deal to many users, it is not an emergency. No one is actually hurt, sick or dying here. Happy holidays to you and all the Subeta staff and users.

I know I blew off some steam the other day but I want to apologize for getting so angry. Mistakes are made everyday by EVERYONE. Don't be too hard on yourself, the problem will be fixed and we will wait of course! However I'm not sure how everyone will respond in regards to the gifts that cannot be recovered. That's a lot of missing items, expensive items, hard worked for items... oh boy that isn't good. I get all antsy just thinking about what I gave.

No gifts are unrecoverable. Any gifts sent to users affected by the stockings events between 12/20 and 12/25 are being re-added from the logs and will therefore not have the data for which user has gifted them. Any gifts sent to affected users before those dates have been recovered from the 12/20 backup. Gifts sent to affected users before 12/20 will still have the data for which user gifted them.

So you can rest easy! Your gifts should be fine, a few people just might not know it was you who gave it to them :V

you seriously underestimate the tenacity of long time users. Those who have been here for at least a year are pretty committed users. Because of the awesomeness of this site, something like this is as much of a hiccup as the great 3 day downtime. Shit happens hun. Get over it. If this issue has seriously caused a rift between you and the site, then move on. Considering you've been here for over 3 years, you should know better....

As for feedback, honestly it's better it was a case of the wrong script going out rather than the new one not working as intended, 'cause that would mean changes having to be made to the trees again and potentially getting problems again next year :Y I'm not personally fussed about the potential for some of the stuff I sent to not have my username attributed to it. It's cool that the trees got to stay open all this time so we could continue gifting, but I would have liked a little update about that in the "unfortunate downtime" post as I wasn't sure if it was intended or not at first. But I am honestly taken aback with the speed at which things are being done even in the holidays, and with the GA medal/CSC to boot. To put it in perspective, my boyfriend pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Syndicate (which released in October) and is STILL unable to play it. Uplay has so far been completely unhelpful. I'll never not be grateful of how Subeta treats its userbase.

agree completely. The staff is accommodating, for instance the suggestions forum, feedback forum, bugs forum.... they actually reply to the users unlike that pet site where you dress your pets and not HAs... ahem, anyway and with all the releases and plots and contests and special announcements and stuff, makes it all worthwhile to me!

Thank you for the update. It happens, coding is not always perfect. We are only human afterall.. make sure to get some rest too. Sucks that names won't be given but you know what, it's also fun to guess who gifted what (like a secret santa). I too am one of the last ones to give some gifts but it's ok, I'm not even mad. Even if this takes a while, take your time. I trust that you all will be able to get it fixed.

Not looking to place blame but do appreciate that you took responsibility and said "it was me" - not an easy thing to do. Everyone deserves to have Christmas free of work. Feel certain that if you knew there was a potential issue you would have taken it with you at the time. Please don't wear yourself out - you don't need to exhaust yourself, we'd rather have you rested and sharp. It will be ready when it is ready and to the best of your ability. That you can retrieve the bulk of missing info is wonderful and time consuming - at least we will know most of the names of those that gifted us. Maybe next year they will do a backup on 12/24 just to be safe. Thank you for the update.
