I don't know if this has already been mentioned or not, but I think that a homes system would make an awesome Sp sink! Here's how it would work:

1. All users would be able to buy a 1 room, 10x10 square home for 100k.
2. All rooms added to the first floor would cost an additional 100k.
3. Adding your first 2nd or 3rd floor room would cost 100k, plus a 25k charge for a staircase. Additional staircases could be purchased on their own for 25k a pop.
4. Adding a basement room would cost 100k, plus a 50k excavation charge and 25k for that first staircase. Additional staircases would still be 25k each.
5. All rooms would be expandable in for 10k per square, plus an additional 5k excavation charge for basement rooms.
6. Flooring, wall coverings could also be purchased. Prices would range from 50k per room for linoleum floors, plain color paint, and vinyl siding to 500k per room for things like marble floors, mosaic walls, and fancy wood paneling.
7. Doors, walls, and windows ranging from plain and functional to fancy and decorative could also be made available for varying amounts of Sp. Things like balconies and decorative columns could also be made available for an extra charge.

It would take millions of Sp to build an uber dream home, at least 1.2 mil to build a modest 3 bedroom single-level house with a living room and kitchen. Most users, of course, would reach beyond the simple house and try to build their dream home, which would end up pulling in tens to hundreds of millions of Sp per user over time. To further encourage participation, achievements can be set and there can even be pet related bonuses (your pet will get hungry more slowly if you have a kitchen) or inventory related bonuses (the bigger your home is, the more items you can have on hand before your inventory is declared "full") as well. Landscaping upgrades and swimming pools can also be implemented to add even more of a personal touch to the homes system.

I think it's a good idea considering we have all of these furniture and appliance items and nothing to really do with them except for shove them in galleries and pet treasures or turn them in as quest fodder. Users would flock to the new feature and even the more miserly of the billionaire users would probably give it a go. After all, if the HA system, custom pet art, custom wearables, and pet profiles have taught us anything, it's that people love to customize things and will pay gobs of Sp in order to do just that.

Ah god no, homes have been suggested a billion and one times and it's just...no. Too much programming for something that'd get too little use. I'd never build a house, that's for sure. And most of the rest of the site wouldn't either unless they could earn something from it.

How many people actually bothered with homes on Neo or Gaia beyond like the first twenty minutes?

I'm pretty sure the housing system would be a nightmare. Would the artists put everything else on hold while they drew up brand new art for the houses? Or would we simply be putting something like in as is using the Item's Art?

I consider every single second of time used by staff for "SubetaHouses" a waste of money. It's not a feature that the userbase would get into, because the userbase is already separated in two major groups, the ones that blow away their money on their pets, and the ones that blow their money on wearables.

Why not focus on these two groups, who form the majority of the userbase, rather than going for niche markets?

While I would personally love to have a house to customize, if it was expensive enough to be an sP sink I probably wouldn't use the feature that much. I would much prefer what someone suggested earlier: making autotraining an sP sink instead of a CSC feature. A lot of battlers would definitely use that feature, and even people who aren't into it as much could use autotraining to prepare for plots. As it is right now, people probably don't use it as much because it costs CSC that they're budgeting for wearables or other things.

I will honestly say if I could auto train my pets with SP, I would be broke, and I love the idea 100%

Other ideas Bring back the reading drive, people will spend money on books [weather user shops or NPC shops] Recycle Beast war, it would clear the low priced items out of the economy quick.

another reading drive has already been nixed by staff. the next one will be a general item drive type event, if we ever get a next one.

I don't carry money, I have investments :) Until very recently, the value of sP was too volatile for me to consider hoarding large amounts of it. So, I just keep my wealth in ETS items.

I have 7.5M on hand right now. It's more than enough for day-to-day stuff, and when lifelike dolls come out, I liquidate things like crazy for CSC
