Well, what I spend my sP on is WEARABLES. Pretty much all I spend my sP on. Why not have a boutique (NOT SubQ, where it's impossible to get anything, but a shop that is always stocked) with premium wears, something like the MC but just for wears, and feature both highest quality new items as well as retired wears?? I would certainly not hold on to my sP then.... :D

Since we were originally discussing taxes, before this was first locked, I just want to say calling it bananas instead of taxes would be hilarious, and I know I wouldn't mind paying bananas. XD But more seriously, since it comes out of the profits of the shop keeper, maybe call it a Processing Fee, or Shop Maintenance Support? Sounds nicer than taxes and could be like how sometimes shops need new roofs and windows and such. Like, sometimes you have to put your money into the physical business, and since we don't pay rent or electricity bills to the shops, those little fees would cover that. Or, you know, that fee goes straight to Sebastion as "Protection Money" like a mob boss... money to protect our shop from his just breaking stuff. ;)
As for other sinks, I posted on the other board when someone mentioned a sinkhole to throw money into.
I've been thinking this over since I posted, and I think it might be neat to combine this with some of the other gambling ideas. Like, on average, every 6 tosses of sp (same chances as mage amulets), either a battle challenger appears, an item pops out (nothing special, maybe just a certain rarity of item, such as 1-60 like vending machines), or maybe a "purse full of sP." None of these things should exceed the amount put into the hole, so it is still a good sink.
If you have the chances of getting anything at all be lower, you can lower how much people can toss overall for each tier (the number above were examples, but may be too high). I was thinking it would be set up like hustler, with buttons for each amount of sP that you can throw in, with higher amounts of sP giving higher tier challengers, maybe higher rarity items, and larger purses of money. If you want people to do it a lot, smaller amounts at a time would be better, and then people will just mindlessly click until they get something. I just know that this is something I would probably do a looooooooot. Just LITERALLY throwing away money. And maybe after you toss away a certain amount of money in the hole, you get an achievement with the title "________ throws their sP around."
And the items don't have to be specific to this. They could be from restock shops. Or maybe have a 1 in 6 chance of getting something, but have it be higher chances of battle challenger, then random item, then sP. Most of the time nothing happens at all, sometimes one of those three things happens, and then sometimes something weird happens, like a rock hitting your face and giving your HA a black eye or something. LOL
And you could to a mini plot with Blake Steele finding the hole with strange new creatures or whatever... or we just throw Blake in the hole. I like that too.
The issue with one shot things, are that they are well.. one shot. They curb inflation for a brief period. Then guess what, you need more of that "one shot things."
The delete sp idea isnt bad, but you need to consistently implement it (since inflation isnt going anywhere), which then turns it into a chore.
For example, the Antique Shop is not a bad idea (even though i disagree w pricing). However, as a sink, items have be added consistently, since most items are one time buys. That is, you need more and more new items to withdraw sp, to match sp being pumped into the economy.
There's a few type of good sinks.
The sinks need to be important to a vast majority of users, but not something vital to the site's usability.
AKA dont charge people to be able to post of forums or pay 15k sp to login per day. Obviously, these are sarcastic but some (very few) ideas are like that.
One another note, has it been brought up to slowly raise prices of main shop items? (unless it's already being done)
I think part of the problem is there's an already established system of csc v. sp, and making amends to that (in an attempt to make a long-term sink) will blur the lines between the two, and that will make some people upset.
Because it's easy for me to come up with long-term ways to sink sp in:
but that will just anger some users because why pay real money when you can get the equivalent for sp?
The buff system has not been established. I feel like we should focus on buffs for sp. You want long-term solutions? Make different sorts of buffs for sp. There's enough stuff going on for csc. Make buffs sp exclusive. Force people to spend sp to get them. That way even people with csc will have to buy with sp. There's been PLENTY of buff suggestions in the past. Would love to see them implemented for sp only soon.
Agree about recurrence. I wanted to bring this up earlier but couldn't think of the word heh. That's why lottery is good vs deleting sP vouchers. Of course, you can still have achievements etc to make it more lucrative, but they'll always be the sink in effect.
sign me up for this, this might be the best sink ever.
I'd say you could get them from the lottery too, as the lottery is a epicly good SP sink as well. You can either sink your SP for sure in the MC, or gamble with the lottery.
It's SP sink vs SP sink, money is eaten anyway, everyone wins!
But yeah, no zapper for that/these colors. Just MC, potion lottery and Miracle Potion/Loyalty Totem.
Also, achievements. Not everyone is mad about achievements, unless they give something really great. Titles, skins, and that's about that.
A feature has to exist outside of the achievements that are attached to it.
I never understood this reasonning :
That's. Already. The case.
CSC is sP, sP is CSC. You can already convert every currency to another currency as long as you stop by the original currency that is sP.

A new carnival booth - sink the NPC. It is a dunk tank and you choose which NPC is annoying you the most to put in it. You then pay sP to "throw balls at the target." Randomly you hit and the NPC gets dumped into the water. When you don't hit, the NPC taunts you with sayings. Literally, NO PRIZE. Just... satisfaction. I know some days I wanna do this to Euclid when the zapper keeps missing. Or Blake because he deserves it. Maybe Titania too? For her epicly late news posts having to do with the plot? lol
I think no matter what sP sink they will do, no one promised that many users will spend their money on them.. not everyone likes wears or challengers or even a premium color.
So sP sink should also come from existing features:
And so on.. many things that already exist can take sP out of the system, it's won't be nice, many would be angry, but this is how things should work here..
This is the best idea ever. I would sink billions to drown dunk Jaxon.
Do you really want your head on a pike?
You're going to be slaughtered by the userbase if you talk about making Sebastian more common, or losing sp after a battle.
I never understood it either. I'm all for sp versions of csc things.
But I can see why it is that way. For example, some people literally only buy their GA for the auto-pricer. Why spend irl money for a GA (yes, you can get one with sp, but it's not really worth it these days with the csc/sp ratio) when you can auto-price with sp instead?
You don't get my point. If something is CSC based, then it is de-facto sP based as well. You can buy CSC with sP, remember ?
You cannot have both a sP and a CSC option because they're the same thing. That would put a cap on CSC, which is wrong.
[edit] CSC and sP trade at a rate. The rate is market-controlled. You put a price on that, you cap the rate, which unbalances the market.

You already lose sp when you lose a fight, it's called the healer.
I just don't like the potions being gotten from the lottery because then someone sells it for cheaper than the mc, then the mc doesn't really get used for that purpose. they probably wouldn't be won often enough for this to be an issue, but I don't like the chances. people will still play the lottery for other potions
Frankly, I'm in the school of thought that says we need more items in the antique shop.
The Reading Drive and the EpiCON items in particular. We're all gamers here, this site we're on right now? It's a game. We love game items. Those particular EpiCONs are never going to happen again, nobody is going to be able to get new points to buy those things. When was the last time more Epicon 2010 point cards were released to the crystal shop? I think they should be in the MC, and we need to have some way of getting points for EpiCON 2013. Or both EpiCON shops should be retired and moved to the antique shop for pure sP.
But well, that's what I would spend my money on...if I had it. I've still gotta save up for more pet slots-
Yeah, I feel there are going to be too few of them won by the lottery to be an actual issue.
Plus, money is sunk in the lottery anyway. If the lottery was playable with humming crystals, or tokens, I'd be 100% with you there. But, it's the same currency, so I think negative effects will be minimal.
Angelic is in the Potion Lottery, and the price doesn't budge much from around 40M. So yeah, if the color is appealing, there shouldn't be a problem. :D
Don't worry too much about things, you'll get early wrinkles ;)
I worry a lot, that's how I am lol. maybe wrinkles will make me look older, most people don't think I look much over 18 (if even that old)
especially with the lottery actually giving out all of the potions now... it's less of an issue than a few months ago when it gave like 4 different kinds away. if it were to become an issue though where too many were going out through the lottery... I'd want it pulled from there.
Yeah, if the lottery was glitching again, I'd totally be behind this.
I mean, you have a great idea there, and I'd love to go and see it implemented.
OKAY BUT CONSIDER THIS, SUBETA, GEMSTONE COLORS.
Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, and idk, Topaz? 20M each in the MC.
Really shiny things that makes your pet be all YO, I'M REALLY RICH.
