Nothing is "personal to one user" once you submit the art to Subeta. It's the site's and you have no claim over any of it. No "but". Favoritism would be not changing the item specifically because Luxe was Staff, as opposed to changing it because 50 people asked. Amazingly, I agree with this, and I have said multiple times all over the site that I was fine with the item changing, but given that Subeta continues to consult custom clothing submitters on the rare occasion when their items need updating, I expected either DebiLee or me to be consulted on any changes.

At this point it is moot since I offered what I consider to be a solid compromise. It's possible no one on staff considered the parallel between existing custom clothing and our old custom items. The chance for compromise still exists.

I honestly don't care about the item one way or another. The thing that I find kind of ..not cool about.. on here is how so many people saying oh my wife this, my mom that, I'd do this to my husband ect, with the intent of making it sound like because they are female they, of course, couldn't be serious about abusing their target. I get it, they're joking, but just because the person doing it is a female doesn't matter one bit. And if they /did/ mean it, it wouldn't be any less bad because they are a girl threatening abuse rather than a guy. I know a guy who was abused by his girlfriend. That shit is not cool. I know, it's a joke, fine, but I just think it's weird that so many people felt the need to point out that the person doing it was female cos it really doesn't matter.

In a way, this thread offered you a channel to voice your opinion, so that's pretty good as far as consulting you goes. So you were consulted, gave your opinion, Staff considered it but not really, which is entirely within their rights, and made a decision from that.

This is 2015 and no one has a flying clue anymore who's custom item was who's and I don't think precious resources should be spent running after users and matters from ten years ago.

That said, I still think it shouldn't have been changed, or anything else for that matter. It was humorous, and because you suffered abuse doesn't mean you have to get all up on your high horse for something as trivial as that. Something being funny =/= making fun of spousal abuse.

What amuses me is that it's perfectly okay for kids to watch cartoons involving a female wielding a rolling pin, chasing around a guy (or a cat or whatever else). Yet when there's an item on an online site alluding to that, the adults throw a fit over it. Blows my mind.

What happened: Subeta altered a name/description containing a very tasteless joke that made light of abusive relationships.

What users think has happened: ALL WEAPONS WILL BE DISAPPEARING. NO MORE BATTLING. ALL THINGS THAT CAN POSSIBLY BE SEEN AS ANY FORM OF OFFENSIVE WILL BE GOING POOF. LIKE BLOODRED AND GRAVEYARD PETS BECAUSE SOME CAN'T STAND SEEING THEM. NOTHING WILL EVER HAPPEN ON SITE BECAUSE I AM MAKING UP IMAGINARY OFFENSES JUST SO I CAN WHINE. WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO. Side note: I still don't care it was changed, and wouldn't have cared if it wasn't changed. However, I greatly dislike that Luxe wasn't asked for input (I loved her proposed change, by the way, and hope it's altered again).

I disagree,It shows complete favoritism because every year at least one person has made a topic to try and get this item changed and were told no,So why now for this person? Why aren't other items that could be deemed just as offensive being edited? I think that it shows a complete lack of disregard to other users feelings when it comes to these items...I can get how someone would be offended by it but I was not nor were a lot of other people,Just like fetus pops...Those offend me greatly but others see them as just fine even though there have been probably an amount of topics equal to this items asking for them to be altered or removed but nothing has been done. I'd like to think of this site as being one where we can be mature about these things but when all of a sudden this particular user pitches a fit and it gets changed it makes me very suspicious about it.

So, because it's been asked every year and refused, when it finally happens, it's favoritism? Nope, that's called innovation, and change. It's not any one single user's request that made staff change the item but rather a collection of them together.

And then there's people like you, that because one of the items they like got changed, desperatly makes multiple posts wondering why every other item that somewhat applies in a obscure way wasn't changed as well. Subeta isn't a democracy and making more threads or posts about changing something doesn't mean it will be changed first, or at all. It's their own judgement against ours, and since no one will ever agree on any particular matter so it's good that we can get some arbitration in here.

I know that Subeta has a habit of operating in a "release now and test later" way so it's easy to come to that conclusion, but no. Proper consultation would have been coming to Debi or me before the changes were made, exactly as been done when custom clothing has been updated. Again, the precedent is there.

And if you know where to look, it isn't hard to know which item belongs to whom. ;) weapon_kelpiesspousalattitudeadjuster.gif Beyond that, Subeta seems to favor crowd sourcing for information too, so I doubt it would be difficult to track down!

No,What I am saying is it should be a blanket decision and not just one item being changed because someone finds offense...Fix all the major controversial things and be done,Problem solved. Doesn't matter if it's something I like or not,I just want equal treatment amongst all the MAJOR things that people have issues with,Now I'm not saying every item needs to be changed because that's impossible but the ones that are clearly causing issues or obviously done in incredibly poor taste should be. Controversy means there's a side that thinks the items are fine. If that side is also Subetateam's, that means they don't get changed. End of.

I am in favor of Luxe's proposed change. For an item that was known to be an old custom, you should of gotten the ability to propose your options and then let staff pick one from there. The new description just is too reaching.

Subeta as a pets site is promoting animals cruelty and abuse, you know, sending a pet to battle against another creature just to get an item, let them being hurt by swords, guns and many deadly weapons, to train them against their will and more and more.. all of this is simply - animals abuse. so I guess that even Subeta needs to be shut down? X_X

I think that old custom items like this should be treated in the same vein as custom wearables: if a change must be made once the item is already on-site, consult the creator(s). Somebody paid real money for this specific item exactly the way it is, regardless of how distasteful other users may find it. I think that modifying it warrants the same level of creator involvement as custom wearables, regardless of how old the item in question is.

I say change the item back to the way it was. You wanna stop spousal abuse (it goes both ways, dumbasses)? Donate money to causes, donate your time by helping out battered women shelters, give a speech, listen to husbands who have been abused, etc, etc..

Getting a virtual item changed isn't doing anything. OP seriously has their priorities in the wrong place, and needs to spend their time doing the aforementioned acts of genuine help that actually matters more than bitchin' about an virtual item on a game site.

I just don't understand why something can't be funny without being offensive? There are LOADS of hilarious items on site that aren't offensive. I'd like to have some more faith in the subeta comedy staff here.
