That's an excellent compromise. :D

Oh, I didn't realize the description was changed. After reading the rest of the discussion, I agree that it's a little weird. :x

I don't get the "never go to bed hungry" nor why the original description had a problem if the name is changed. Every mother, grandmother, father, or baking family member I ever had would jokingly chase me out of the kitchen for messing with their baked goods before they're served.

There are some items that get brought up so often that I get the boards confused, tbh. I thought for sure someone had necro'd an old topic.

That said, I'm neither here nor there on the original or the tweaked version. I don't quite get the new description with the name... don't go to bed hungry, so here's an attitude adjuster? I don't follow. As it was a custom item that was paid for, I presume consulted with the paying customers. or , mind sharing what the thoughts were behind the new description/name combination?

Why I personally never felt bothered by the item I can see why other people might feel uncomfortable because of it so I'm glad its name and description got updated. Thank you, !

Maybe it says if you are hungry in the evening go and bake yourself some cookies before you go to bed.

that's a custom item that had to do with a wedding and was a wedding gift to Luxe, what does the new version has to do with weddings?

are rolling pins the new bad dragon?

Maybe, but hunger isn't an attitude. Hunger is a physical state.

True but we all know what kind of attitude hunger can bring up.

Again, maybe. But I find the whole combination a bit reaching, which is why I pinged the people I presume were consulted, so they could share their thoughts behind it. :)

I figured it was going off the old advice to never go to bed angry (with your spouse)? But since it's a rolling pin they changed to it hungry? Idk.

Kinda disappointed it got changed though, to be honest. On the one hand, I'm glad I won't have to see this thread again in another six months. But I worry about where Subeta's going with the PC trend lately. :/

Looking to buy this!

Whatever happened to artistic integrity? Admit that something is a problem, but don't shove it under the carpet like it doesn't exist. That's just as bad.

The change makes no sense or connection to the original reason for its creation. The unspoken "Spousal" is now there and I'm sure, this will pop back up as an issue sometime next year :/

Could it still make a crude joke and not be pointed at spousal abuse ? Like, "This will adjust their/your/an opponents/Aboxalypse's attitude." ? It's a weapon, so it's in line with how other weapons would be described without being specifically suggestive of beating ones husband. A knife is used to murder many people, but we aren't removing those. It's not abuse per se, but a means of defending yourself in the on-site battling.

This is coming from someone that can see both sides of the argument (and point out the idiocy ridiculousness of some of BOTH arguments) and wouldn't be able to come up with a solution on my own. And might be a bit blinded as to how it'd still be wrong (but I mean for fucks sake, people are already stating that it's still too suggestive).

Sums up all of this for me. It makes me laugh because there are other items on site much more offensive.

To be honest, I'm confused by the description too. I didn't get it the first time I read it and I still don't follow. Hope we get some insight on this.

Add me to the people not really getting the new one. Hopefully the owners were consulted. I feel like the only reason this item was noticed was because of its name. Because take a look at these descriptions:

Did you notice these before?

I bet you I can find one person offended by each of these items. Want to find more? I have a whole funny gallery, you're welcome. c;

I wasn't consulted, and considering 's last online status was 3 months ago, I doubt she was either.

If this is still open for discussion, I would like to offer my input and see further changes made because I don't consider this a compromise at all. If the combination of the original name and description was too direct, then this one is too obscure. Based on the feedback threads that have shown up over the years (and the similar frying pan tropes we have on site), no one had a problem with the rolling pin/marriage trope. The issue was because of the description. Personally, I would prefer to see the allusion to marriage returned to the item.

It is said the key to a successful marriage is to never go to bed hungry. Wait, is that how it goes?

Obviously, I see where you were going with the description. "Never go to bed angry" is a common piece of advice for newlyweds. It's a clever pun, but it's lost to obscurity without a clear tie to marriage in the item name/description.

Very unimpressed that changed this without speaking with or , considering that it was a gift to one from the other. I'm not even going to get into whether it deserved to be changed, but I hope 's suggestions are implemented at least.
