It's a bit weird I can clearly see that the revamp has better art and is quite the improvement but there is something about the older art that is more visually appealing for me. (Nostalgia goggles? haha) In all seriousness though it may be some fiddly things with the pose. The older one has a shy and innocent posture, paws on its chest, head down but looking up at you. Very charming. The revamp has a more playful pose, which is much more otter-like. I guess it's just personal preference?

love the revamp except the ears.i am happy to see the ears but the position to me makes the ontra not only look submissive but also afraid. i do like that new pose an lines

I think the new design is adorable but I'm on the side saying they wish the ears were more otter shaped. I think its definitely an overall improvement. Might consider getting an ontra now.

I've never wanted an Ontra until now omg. The revamp is just precious.

The revamp is super cute! I really love it!

The revamp not only looks worlds better, it looks like an actual otter. The old one has a weirdly shaped head (more like a Disney character than a real animal), and no ears. Otters should have ears, man.

I also really dig the new tail. The smaller second set of fins looks neat, and the stripes along the edges of both sets looks really nice - I hope the alternate colors take advantage of it - and goes well with the "striped" toes.

Even the chest fluff is done better.

That is the only thing that throws me off as well. Otherwise, I love it as is! I have always wanted an ontra, but something about them just... made them not as appealing as other species. Now I am super duper in love! :D

Something about the head shape seems off to me, but I can't put my finger on it. Perhaps the eye placement, or the shortness of the forehead.

LOVE IT. I am not a big pet person but gosh it is cute!

I suddenly want one, and the old version always irritated me. I just wanna squish this one's face. AHH! I even love it's little flat ears because they remind me of a scottish fold. And I adore the tail. Much more aquatic. -grabby paws-

I agree with , it would be even better if the ears were up. But it's absolutely adorable either way and I definitely prefer it over the current one! I just love the cute belly and eyes. Heart-melting. 😍

REVAMP REVAMP REVAMP

Likes:

• Looks way more otter-like. If I had space I'd consider getting one now.
• Much more appealing in design, in general.
• Nicely detailed, less flat-looking art.
• Updates are always nice.
• You've been responsible for pretty much every pet I do like on the site, so I'm not surprised, lol.

Dislikes:

• Agreeing with others, the ears look a little wonky, and the expression/body language looks kind of strange? Not sure what exactly it is that needs tweaking.
• Also agreeing the tail's additional fins look strange. I've never been much a fan of the extra doo-dads on some of the pet designs (like the tutani tail wings). It seems extraneous for extraneous' sake, you know?

Thoughts

• I think maybe it needs more of a neck/shoulder definition? I think that may be what bugs me most, it looks hunched and not in a good way.
• I love that it has more toes/fingers on the paws now.

I also am very curious if this means that Alexander will get a revamp, too?
