I'll admit that I strongly prefer the old art, but after seeing the poll feedback it looks like I'm in a pretty tiny minority there. :P While I do prefer the old version, the new one is adorable too for the most part. The only thing that really makes me prefer the old are the little ears on the side of his head. For some reason they throw off the whole face for me, and I would like him a bit more without them.

On the plus side, the look on the new one's face is super cute. I like the added details on the fur and the tail as well. :)

I concur with many here, I like the better definition of the Ontra's features. :)

I really disliked the Ontra till now but this is so cute! Oh great, now I have to save up for another pet slot!

I'll just say what I said in the new post:

the new one is AWESOME. the only thing I'm not sure about is the addition of those ears, the old one didn't have any like that. (I'm not opposed to the ears it's just a big change when you think about it) ((or maybe it's just me))

The new Ontra is really adorable! The only two things that bother me, and they're very tiny, are the tail and ears. I kind of wonder how they would look with the ears up and the tail fin flaired out a little more. But hey, some color may get that look.

I like the redesign a lot, though I do think the eyes could be a little bit smaller. They kind of scare me currently >____>;

But other than that, this is a vast improvement on the Ontra's design in general.

I'm torn! I like both! The redesign is SO CUTE! However, there is something just...familiar about the old design. Perhaps if you added the slightly crazy "hair" from the old design to the new one? I really don't know. The old design also seems to have a longer muzzle, would that work for the new one?

I suddenly want an ontra, I never did before but the new art is adorable! I think it really brings so much life to it. (The additional freckles and detailed fins are super cute.)

My only criticism is that the eyes seemed a bit off to me when I first saw the new art, and I realized they looked a wee bit too large? They're cute eyes, it's just the size. (Edit: hmm, might be the eyebrows, too? Like, it seems like the forehead vanished, and what's probably throwing me off is that the original had more of a forehead. IDK, it's tricky.)

All the same, huuuge improvement IMO!

I love the new desing. It's beautifull. Personally I wouldn't make the ears that dark, it make it look too much of a plushie. Maybe a tiny bit bigger as well. I adorable nevertheless!

That being said, there is something a little off about the proportions of the head. It is more puppy-dog like than otter-like. I think if the ears were a little lower on the head, say more next to the eyes than above the eyes, I think it would look even better! (Love the ears btw!)

I love it! The only thing that irks me is the line of hair in the middle of its forehead, it makes it look like a seam and more plushie than living.

I am also in favor of the ears looking a bit more up, but the ears do look cute as is also.

Even if nothing was changed at all though, this revamp looks much better for the Ontra than the previous one c:

Oh gosh, so cute. So, so cute. I am iffy on the ears. On one hand, they aren't otter ears. But on the other, they are so cute and they don't have to be otter ears. I think there should still be a more defining neck area like there was before, but that's just me. I also think the old shape of the caudal fin should be used as it seemed more realistic for this kind of pet ? More whale like. I do like the addition of the pectoral pelvic mini caudal fins.

I was trying to figure out why it looked weird then I realized: IT HAS EARS

For the record I rather like the ears. It was just a bit weird to see them there. I'm also a pretty big fan of the new foot placement (in front of the tail). As for critiques - there's something about the expression that looks...chibi and sad at the same time. Like a puppy begging forgiveness for something it hasn't even done wrong.
