The only thing I'd change in the revamp is to have the ears standing up, as someone on the first page mentioned, but I'd still absolutely love it whether the ears were changed or not. So cute!

Only in terms of proportion. The tigrean kept its heel spikes; the wing markings on its back; and the shape of its tail, ears, and eyes. Those were its defining characteristics and they all carried over into the new design.

Yes, but it (Tigrean) also morphed and got a 4th toe on each paw to make it more anatomically correct. It also became stockier and bulkier just like a real tiger. If a Tigrean can morph to make it more anatomically correct, so can any other pet to make it more anatomically correct; especially when it mimics so much the otter or when another pet so much mimics another RL animal/pet.

I still much prefer the new over the old, but there are things that still need fixing on it.

I honestly feel that the redesign is just...way too "cute". The way it's looking at the viewer and how the head has been changed makes it feel like a calculated Tastes Like Diabetes move.

I had this criticism with the Escalade: I feel that these latest batch of revamps keep taking what feel or personality the original pet had and jettisons it to be "smiley" and "cute". The current Ontra looks confident and wary; the new one looks like it should be on a site geared towards toddlers.

I really like the revamp especially the eyes!

I actually like that the ears aren't identical to a real otter's, because it's another little detail that keeps it an ONTRA; a unique species based on an otter. ^_^ The folded ears are a super cute addition that make it look a bit seal-like. I love seals.

I love the revamp. It is so cute.

I love the improvements to the art quality, shading, body size/sleekness, etc. I don't hate the ears, but they are shockingly different. They're growing on me (and honestly I don't have Ontras so it could go live as is and it wouldn't be the end of the world) but I wouldn't mind seeing an example of them up or removed, at all.

The smaller eyes and less pleady eyebrows are nice, imo (for a basic pose that should be fairly plain) but again, minor tweaks.

Overall I like it a fair bit.

I think the new revamp is better art wise and I would definitely prefer for the intra to be redrawn only, I don't really like the ears nor the fact that you got rid of the hair poof that was on the original.

Hello, :) I have a couple of things to say both positive and negative (even though it is not really negative just constructive criticism). First off, I love the new shading. The smooth shading makes it look amazing. The swatches used in this color palette fits really well together. Also, the overall anatomy of the creature has been improved which is a plus as well as a slight minus, which I will discuss next. As for my constructive criticism, I only have one problem with this revamp. The Ontra, which is supposedly a mixture of otter and mermaid(as detailed by the subeta wiki) has been made to look more catlike than otter, in my opinion of course. This is due to the addition of the ears, as well as some of the lineart for the facial structure. Perhaps you guys can make the snout a bit longer to differentiate between a cat and otter. And for the ears make them a bit smaller, otters do not have ears that big. Proportions! That is what I have been rambling on trying to hint at, anyways. Even if you do not make any changes to it, it is still a really big improvement from the old art piece. Thank you for reading my post, Best of luck. :)
