I guess I am just not seeing the huge reason for the uproar.
I am happy for the changes and what is still to come. Loving the reset, more exp, more loot, more tokens. yes please. Probably because I never reached the 22K stat cap. Yes 35K seems so far away, and is, but now I have a long time goal.
I am not going to say anything else on this matter, because personally I don't see anything wrong with the changes and I look forward to what is still to come.
Awesome for you but pre-t13 training evenly made hardly any sense, hence the reason some people are a little peeved that after however long the BC has been around. You completely 180 the direction and turn speed into one of the most important stats. After years and years of it barely being there for show. Theirs change then theirs sending us to another planet were everything we know is opposite, hence the reaction.
I don't really mind the change in speed as 6k seems to be the cap, but the cap in health at 10k seems rubbish. Like previously stated doesn't leave many build options now does it.
So what your saying is that if we plan on having over 10k health, we should forget about boosting speed since healing won't be an option? I guess that kind of takes care of the speed problem!
Apparently there's nothing to come @ OP xD?
I don't think it's unfair for people to voice concerns over something that changes the game, especially when only a chunk of the information has been given. I do like that the change, assuming it still happened (??), only effects tier 13 pets when it comes to speed verses healing so it gives t12 pets the ability to still use their weapons as planned while knowing what's ahead of them.
I'm still waiting on the amazingsauce though, assuming the 22k cap isn't just put back in place or whatever broken thing is happening or not happening.
Edit2add: please don't do 9999 that's so uneven. Make it like 10,100 so at least people can have a nice even pretty 10k without being penalized. assuming that's a thing.
You're welcome
I like doing unconventional builds. I do have in mind a build that people commonly have, but it's just not exciting to me. If I haven't done a build like this, someone else going for it is going to find out the same terrible surprise maybe after a boosting session way over 10k hp. I bet they will be way more incensed than me.
I believe suddenly imposing a handicap is just sending the wrong message to battlers who want to experiment with different things.
Thats the thing.
if theres a 10k hp cap, a 6 or 7k spd cap. THe only optional part about the build is having 18k to put in STR or DEF. and choice seems obvious.
WOW, I'm glad I missed a day of this.
This was not what I was expecting. I think the reasons why this was a bad idea have been covered well enough though, so I'll just echo the sentiment of not forcing people to have 6k speed and stop. And maybe a direction to think in about some actual good changes.... Speed needed to be made USEFUL not mandatory... Tie it directly in to weapon blessing/curses (not mods though), make healing scale with it ALONGSIDE hp, change crits to scale from 1.1-2x depending on speed vs speed, and don't let challengers speed scale to the point where win 3 speed stops mattering. There's a lot of things that could have been done that actually make sense.
There needs to be room for creativity, so someone who's going to stick around and keep battling isn't repeating the same build 10x. it's perfectly fine for there to be one build that's best and others that aren't as good but are still viable. What we already had, though it had room for a hell of a lot of improvement obviously, at least gave room for some really creative builds. Some of them even COMPLETELY changed the difficulty order of opponents, some made it so that with the same opponent on the same win number you could either have a nice breeze through fight or a hell of a battle just depending on your luck. We need changes that build on these positives in differences and exemplify them so people can actually sit down and think, well which direction do I want to go in.
I think the reason why people are annoyed by this (and I would say justifiably so, even though I am not even close to a 22K pet), is that this is a massive change that is overly complicated, it makes a massive change that people had built around, and it has no real benefit. Its a 100% arbitrary change.
People can still eventually heal just as much as they did before, but now they need to work to get back to where they were before. This is pretty much just a direct downgrade. It turns something that was previously next to worthless, and now makes in mandatory, even though many people for years were saying: Hey that speed stat is pretty worthless, maybe you should change it up a little before everyone starts ignoring it, and now that they started ignoring it you make it mandatory.
And for the grief that you are causing people, what did we gain?

This. We are always being pushed to have creativity in battles and not just mindlessly smash. This is gonna take out a hell of a lot of leeway with creating your pet builds and variety of people trying different methods. I really dislike that the health cap will force people to train exactly the same way - also it's complete bullshit considering there are opponents who can hit for 10k first attempt -cough the new challengers-.
It seems like changes are being made for the sake of change and they aren't being thought through. People wanted to be able to advance more in battling and this has actually made some people's pets weaker. This should never have happened.
And I say this as someone who is below 10k health so the cap hasn't affected me AND as someone with 5k speed so my healing rate is pretty good too.
I think if the speed thing is going to remain - please edit the crit hit formula as well and at least give us the chance of like a 'mini crit' or something more frequently. Not a full blown blast but maybe an extra like 20% damage or something.
Health cap is at 9999, at which a severe healing penalty comes down.
This all really looks as if they wanted to to tease us to no end.
There are a few very apt people here, who know a lot about how the BC works or could/should be improved, why didn't they have a secret brainstorming/discussion thread. The t13 issue would have been a set point before us having to suggest it, for example. I mean it's good, that once again they are listening and still changing now, but, once again obviously so much went wrong.
Restatting is another point that once again comes to mind, esp. with a dooming health penalty.
A lot of these changes are things that they could have told us way ahead of time, like months prior to actually pushing them, that would have given people time to prepare for them.
unless you only just decided last thursday, while on the shower ?

I feel like I missed some catastrophic meltdown...

I forgot to add how incredibly boring and what a stupid idea this new mandatory build 10k health, 6k speed and 19k spread between strength an defence is.
Looks as if their reasoning was: Hey, we'll give them, what they are pestering us for, but we'll make sure they never EVER ask for anything again and we henceforth can rest in peace!
Oh that's mature. /slow clap
Finally, the speed stat is going to be the sole factor for healing on MOST weapons tiers 9 and up. This change will take a little while to re-code. This post will be amended when it has been completed.
EDIT1: Tier 12 weapons have been changed!
Fine. Enjoy the busted BC.

I feel like I missed some catastrophic meltdown...
WTF? this seems childish. Everyone is frustrated because they have been blindsided by the changes with no reasoning/explanation to the public.
you might have missed the part where if you have 10k or more health, your heal is capped 100hp per weapon.
- Wow. So what, healing gradually increases up to 10k and then just plummets?

This is pretty disappointing. :x I think a lot of people would agree that healing has been broken for as long as the BC has been in existence and personally, I was happy to rough out the storm to see where it lead. Health has been the premier stat for so long thanks to the lack of diminishing returns and static heals would have been a fair way to balance that out. It just needed to be done more consciously and less arbitrarily; I think there's some good suggestions which I'd rather see ironed out versus the towel thrown in.
