Those who have pets over the old stat cap of 22,000 will have access to a new batch of impossible challengers to beat on. Good luck with them 😉 There will be many more of these to come! (These can be unlocked upon visiting your pet page!)
half of me thinks this is cool but the other half is salty that there aren't new free impossible challengers for everyone.
They're no good to you until your pet has hit the old cap!
EXP should be working now! Something weird happened on the push.
Yes, everyone can still get the DGR upon reaching 22,000 stats :)
As for the speed change... you'll see when I start changing them (tomorrow).
The two new impossible challengers are the kind that just want to smash you over the head with a blunt object. They will get more creative down the line!
The small fixed amount after win 10 is different for the different opponent difficulties. We'd been wanting to do that (and the exp increasing instead of decreasing from wins 1-10) for ages, so I'm glad it's finally live. :)
Any regular loot you can get again, yes! In the case of Fruit Punch though, the Mega Fruity Egg is an achievement prize, so after you get it once, you cannot get it again.
There is now a tier 13, and exp payouts after win 10 have been raised a bit to be more in line with what we originally envisioned.
The Cronus Blade is the typical godly-type weapon, so expect most of the T11 weapons to follow in its footsteps. Oddballs like Manifesting Weapon (whose coding doesn't play well with other coding) and Ballista (novelty weapon) only received very minor adjustments.
Well, now that there is a 13th tier, I can code it so that it just affects t13 pets. That's who this is geared for to begin with.
Speed is the only factor for the healing. Every 1000 speed is a new healing/defense tier. Caps at 6k speed. Health cap is at 9999, at which a severe healing penalty comes down.
I'd hardly call that a catastrophic meltdown, guys, come on.
Healing still caps at 9999 HP now, but it'll heal 999 instead of 100 (so, no penalty for training over 9999 HP). We'd still like to tweak how healing works, but we won't reinstate a penalty.
If you guys have suggestions for how to improve the BC (especially with regards to making speed useful), we'd like to hear them, but tone down the sarcasm, please. I know this is frustrating for you, but it's equally frustrating for us to try to work within this outdated, restrictive battle system, especially when every change we make is met with sarcasm and ridicule.
Oh, I know. I was JUST saying to Purge (before reading all of these posts) that speed should allow pets to "dodge" attacks somehow, or get better hits in. It makes more sense. Our main issue is honestly how much we can do without involving a programmer. Anything involving custom-coding weapons, we can do on our own (so healing rates, blessing and curse rates, freeze chance, stuff like that). We can't, unfortunately, custom-code anything having to do with crits or dodging. A programmer would have to go in and change the BC's (hideous) code, and the BC doesn't seem to be much of a priority.
I don't disagree.
Right now we're discussing the scroll library and the multiple saved battle sets with the programmers. We're tired of simply talking about them and want to finally get them pushed through. We will bring up the speed issue after that, but we'd need to have a solid plan in place first, so more viable, non-game-breaking suggestions from the knowledgeable battlers would be amazing.
Purge and I are both good with the idea of opponent speed being static. It makes sense that if you train your speed high enough to have the advantage, you should keep it. We'd have to adjust a few opponents' speeds, but it wouldn't be an issue. I'll add that to the list we'll give to the programmers.
I hear you, -- I actually have three t10 pets now (done entirely with autotraining!) in addition to my t13, and I never battle with any of the "little guys" unless I'm testing something simply because it's such a pain in the ass to switch out my entire set.
If such things were actually possible, they would have been done already. I've asked for a ton of things before, and they just aren't feasible. Curses that can freeze, give blessings to the opponent (from your own weapon), coding on scrolls... not happening. I'm also completely against speed affecting freezing (or the dodging of freezes?)... I'd love to tie it into crit rates though. I'm pretty sure I asked about that in the past as well, sadly.
That's the problem. Most ideas are fantastic. They just can't be done.
I've tried to get to come back to us, ages ago too. Haven't tried recently though. Maybe I could bribe her :P (I know how crazy busy she is)
There won't be any new stats, and we decided a while back not to allow people to reset all of their stats at once, either (too many complications around different stats costing different exp amounts). The leeches allow people to tweak builds a bit.
Some items are missing attack text because I normally do that, and some of them slipped through the cracks while I was insanely busy with school (I'm halfway through earning my computer programmer/analyst diploma and it's an intensive program where they expect us to work for 40-60 hours per week). I'm on summer break now, so I have a lot more free time. If you want to list the weapons missing text, I'll add it now.
Also, Keith has started working on the scroll library! He'll do the multiple saved sets after that.
Those three are done! I feel like there were others but I can't remember.
