Because people wanted them, and you're just assuming that those 7-10 are not the same as those 4 facial features o.O But from the sounds of it most people voted for at least a few facial features each. So I'm willing to bet that if the selection had been weened down a bit more, there would've been a few in the top 6 to begin with and they're likely very close if not exactly 7-10 so again it doesn't really matter. Now if you think your item might've been rest assured, you weren't going to win anyhow because only 6 winners were chosen to begin with :).
I don't think my item was going to be anything, because I submitted a junk entry just to get the participation prize. And yes I am assuming, and I've already told you why I assume what I assume. Like I said, if staff can confirm that these face item winners were indeed the next in line to win, I will shut up. Congrats to staff and the winners. And as for "because people wanted them", I'll say it again: boo hoo. I want a lot of things.
and wanting to know what item got voted -10 is one of those things you want so "boo hoo"?
I'ma bow out now though, that's a bit ridiculous.
I don't see how the 6 most voted for wearables overall, and the next 4 top facial features, winning, can be perceived as anything but fair. It matters not if they were 7-10 or 11-15. Staff SPECIFICALLY said they weren't sure how many winners there was going to be. Users said, 6, we want more, we want facial features for (insert tons of reasons, including there was a ton of very good ones), staff said okay okay you get what you want you, vocal protesters, you! Seems pretty fair...
One other possible factor in picking only facial features is that several of the non-face items that didn't win are now being released as CWs. If any of those items were numbers 7 – 10, it could make things a bit complicated (especially if they've already been submitted to the CW queue or approved).
Anyway, I'm glad there are more winners, regardless of the item type. None of the eyes or mouths I voted for made it, but these are great, too (that bunny is perfect for one of my pet's TCs).
The contest was assumed to be about overall votes and ranking to determine winners. If the post introducing the next new winners had just said "you guys wanted more winners so here's the rest!" and they all happened to be face items, I wouldn't have said anything or given it another thought.
But the fact that it was said categories are going to be for next contest, not this one, and then all of a sudden "here's the winners of the face category!" I'm just like "what? what face category? you didn't say anything about categories in this contest." That's why I'm suspicious that there could have been different overall winners than the face ones.
Fine then. I'll go with it, there's the winners of the new face category that didn't exist until now. But where the rest of the background winners, wig winners, etc?...
Sorry for the ping hon, but would you be willing to inform us as to whether or not the winning CWs are in the shops to stay permanently, or are they there just until the end of the Pandemic this year, please? :)

I'm really really glad to see we got the 4 more items in the end, and I hope going forward the number of votes we get is going to be-- if nothing else-- the MINIMUM amount of winners we'll have? Like if there's 10 votes and man items and lost by just a few votes then yay even more winners, but there should be at least 10.
Especially since the amount of items to vote on was a lot higher than the first time (understandable), and I imagine next time there will be even more.
I'm probably biased on the facial items, because I did in fact vote for 3 out of the 4-- and I am curious as to what the other 4 top items had been if not the facial items, but facial items or not I'm really just glad the number of items we got matched the number of votes.
Brb blowing sP on awesome items ;u;
I will just have to echo what people have been saying here and on the news post. Most of these complaints could have been avoided if only we were allowed to submit the non-winning entries (facials and otherwise) as CWs. You know, especially since staff already spent paid time reviewing all the art -- doesn't make so much sense to have to discard/shelve them when they could be generating revenue and preventing complaints.
I agree about being allowed to submit them as regular CWs afterwards.
As for the uneven shop distribution, I don't really see how that's unfair if the spooky/zombie type items did in fact receive more votes than the pretty/valentine's type items. Isn't that the whole point of having everyone vote?
Although I guess maybe they could have split the categories and given everyone 5 votes for each category? Something like that.
That's exactly what I said in the news post comment here:
It would've been way more fair.
- Agreed. I think it's high time that eyes, mouths, noses and other facial features were allowed as CWs anyway. I don't know why items for AROUND the eyes are allowed but not the eyes themselves. Isn't the positioning just as important? I don't understand it.

Except that you're making those number up, and the Skitters items won because they received more votes. That means more people liked the Skitters items, so it's totally fair that more of those won.

Live and learn and I suppose hindsight is always best. I do appreciate that when users complained there were too few winners -- esp. face items, staff responded with more winners/face items. I also think staff deserve credit for such a quick response. So…. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! <3 :)

It would be nice to see the number of votes for each one. I was hoping more of the softer items would win that are used throughout the year and backgrounds, too. I did not vote for any of the winners listed nor did my daughter. The ones we voted for were really nice, imho.
So you think it would be fair to give items that didn't get the most votes a win just because the it the L'Amour Parlour theme?
If the contest had specified in the beginning separate pools (Here are the Skitters entries - vote for 10/ Here is L'Amour - vote for 10) then that would be fair, but to penalize both the users who drew the spooky items and the users who voted for them doesn't make sense
I'm really pleased that we got some awesome facial features but I'll add to the calls for allowing facial features as CWs
Seriously I've seen some amazing cw eyes. Although I like the eyes the official subeta artists put out, I'd really love to have more eyes to work with that are slightly different but within acceptable style limits.
