I know. Hopefully whenever there&;s a new contest people will resubmit them. Some of them were really great and I voted for them.

I have been seeing those kind of comments around (it was the same on Peka-Boo), and, while we do not mind it in the least, it's a little upsetting to see people complain we're resubmitting the same entries on every contest. I understand why, I mean, we're essentially winning more prizes with the same art, but we're doing it because we were asked to. Sometimes by multiple people.

Either way, it is a tough decision to resubmit, especially when we already know they aren't going to win. (That's my pessimism talking, but it's also very realistic.)

I still wish the entries that made it to the voting round could be grandfathered in and become seasonal Cash Shop items. Maybe after we got a handful in, we would finally see some more diversity in contests, instead of desperately trying to get new facial items to win.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't want to be treated as a winner when it comes to whatever monetary prizes. For any of us who cared enough to fill our slots with eyes and lips, the real win would be to be able to wear them and see others do the same.

I can relate to the sentiment about CWs when it comes to the fact that it might be annoying to see those perfect eyes you've always wanted... become a private.

I'm dissapointed of the outcome. We had a lot of entries and we have to selected 10. Why are we getting only 6 in the end? I wish Subeta would apply their nonsense about the winners just like they do for the "flash HA contest". We always get more winners than what has been announced.

We had many eyes items, many recolours and NONE of them made top 6. I'm also confused as to why Louis gets only 2 items while Skitters gets more? It can't be because of the fact that Louis is more on the cutesy side, we had plenty of entries with the cutesy theme.

There is no reason. Subeta's logic is like college grade; failing a test make you go down of 10 pts while getting an A-B gives you 3 pts.

If there really were 70+ entries, 6 is not even 10%. I wasn't expecting 10 winners just because I had 10 votes. I was expecting more than 6, because there were A LOT of entries. And this would make for a larger sp sink. For all that voting and fuss, I expected more than 6 items chosen. It's very anti-climactic. Also, I highly doubt the issue was the 50mil sp per winner, because apparently, that's not a big deal as people have already pointed out to what Keith said recently. And if it WAS, then it's no one's fault but staff's for even giving away sp when it was stated time and time again it could either be dropped or changed to 1k csc (and I'm PRETTY sure the latter would not have caused any backlash from people or participants). If this is some way of getting back at us (the people, myself included, who voiced their 50mil per winner v. sp sinks concerns) then that's a really shitty move, because that wasn't our point at all.

... also totally agreeing about those muse eyes how the frack did they not win /forever sobbing (though the items that did win are nice as well, no way am I belittling the 6 chosen, my point is why weren't there MORE chosen)

There are a lot of things I'm upset about, but not that the items with 2/3 recolors didn't win.

If only one color of each had been submitted, they would probably have made the cut, and it was told in the submission form people making three different things was preferable to the same thing in three colors.

Submitting one color only could have had like 60 votes and made it, while the three recolors probably had 30-30-25, more votes in total, but not enough for any of them to make the cute because people have different preferences.

I'm not particularly cut up about any of this.

Yes, 10 votes does somewhat imply that there would be 10 winners, but only very loosly. No guarantees were made. No promises were broken. Naturally, I'd have liked to see more items, because I always like more items, and it was difficult to choose only ten, so it's a bit disappointing to see so few of the items I'd voted for make it through. However, I'm not about to pretend we're somehow owed more than what we got.

Given that item types weren't separated by shops in the voting, the current distribution makes sense. I'd rather have to most popular items overall. Also, a lot of items fell into both categories, so splitting them up wouldn't have been as easy as it sounded.

I'm, also not terribly bothered about the lack of face items. I found a lot of them underwhelming, to be honest. I was bracing myself for the results to be full of eyes and lips I didn't care about, but I'm glad the end result was as varied as it was.

I think it would be cool to get to see the voting results at the end of a contest like this!!!

Does anyone remember approx how many entries were in the Peekaboo contest? I can only think that maybe the number of winners are proportional to the number of entries that made it to the voting stage (which is why I think nobody answered when I asked "how many winners will there be" during the contest announcement).

Judging from the response from those who entered the contest, it seems that most of them didn't even care about winning the prizes, especially those who submitted facial items; most of them seem to just want the item on site so they can have a copy (since they can't submit them via CW), and the prizes is just bonus. So if the problem is "10 winners would result in too much sP or CSC given out", maybe for the next contest, don't have as big prizes? I'm sure there'd be just as many entries, especially if there are achievements/participation prizes, and this being the only chance to get facial items onsite.

Also, a lot of the items that people mentioned they wanted in the newspost etc didn't win (Frill Seekers Dress for example).... I can only guess that there's a large percentage of voters that are just not vocal about it..

But other than that I just wanted to say it was fun to particpate in the contest, it gave me a chance to get off my lazy butt and draw something lol. And even if my items didn't win, it was good publicity for them lol. I'm surprised and appreciative that staff was really fast in going through the entries (the suspense of waiting to see if my stuff made it past the quality check was stressful!).

I love the Cash Shop idea. Some of the eyes were very beautiful, even the recolors, and they look better than some of the eyes I've seen in the Cash Shop lately. Haha. I'm probably in the minority of people that don't mind resubmissions.

Ah, don't worry, more people ask for resubmissions (and if I could I would keep trying because what if there's a 1% chance, I CANT MISS IT) xD

I originally said Cash Shop because all other items will be getting sold for csc as CWs, so that would be a way to have eyes sell and kind of keep them on the same price "level" of those CWs, while still generating revenue for the site c: And well, without having to open submissions for any eyes/lips, since idk if that's something staff wants to do at all...

I think it could be kind of cute if all facial items put up for voting on a contest could get submitted as "special items" much like CWs, but with this seasonal/"special" context attached to them? xD Like, ok, your item made it to the finals, now you can submit it within the next 30 days and it'll be sold for (?) 60 days on the Cash Shop. Or something.

But if we had another way to get them, ANY way, regardless of item status or type of currency paid, we'd certainly go for it. It's just sad to waste art so many people wanted to see on site, just because it didn't make top 6/top 10.

If some items appeared in the cash shop, I'd personally see it as a money grab tactic since they could have chosen more winners. But I guess some option would be better than no option.

I also wish there was a place to see who did the submissions we voted on. It would be nice to be able to contact the artist. It would also be nice if we knew up front how many were going to end up as winners.

I live in MN, and whatever you've heard... It's much worse.

I'm just gonna quote some things from other threads and the news posts to do with this contest, since I went through them to see if we actually had some SOLID statements saying that there would be 10 winners. I'm actually not surprised that we thought there would be 10 because theres a few things that suggested there would be. Anyway here's some quotes

Quote by Rah
As to the number of winners - we have not specified how many winners there will be, because I&;d like to see how the entries go first. As said, we will likely have more of an idea when we get to the voting stage. I don&;t want to say there will be 3 winners and then there are dozens of amazing entries, or that there will be 10 winners and we don&;t get 10 entries that are up to standard. (Something I very much doubt will happen, but we&;d like to prepare for that just in case!)

Quote by keith
If we have ten winners that&;s 500 million sP, and that&;s honestly a drop in the bucket of the amount of sP that goes out daily. Yesterday was a day where we had less user activity than usual. 8,645,121,062 was the number of sP given out from various parts of the site. 500 million sP isn&;t a big deal.
-From here

Basically through this whole thread, while discussing how the sP prizes were going to impact the economy, it was discussed in examples of there being 10 winners. It was never officially stated but examples of it were discussed at length between users and staff.

The other reason I thought we'd have 10 winners is because we had 10 votes which, (as evidenced from previous HA and CW contests,) means we're going to get either that many or more than that. We're all aware that subeta is inconsistent, but it's actually pretty normal to come to expect something when it's happened various times previously.

Users should just stop expecting anything at all because Subeta's inconsistencies are going to drive us all insane, if not already.

I actually like that 4 items landed in Skitters' shop and 2 in Louis's. Having to collect enough hearts for 3 or 4 items would be pretty difficult considering all the other items on offer as well.

But count me in the group that's very disappointed we didn't have ten winners. Not sure how the voting went, but I was personally hoping very much at least one of the eyes made the cut.

I'm not sure why we were voting ten times when there were only six winners. I feel like we should have only voted six times.

I think we should have gotten five votes for 6 winners, actually. Not six, not ten.

Didn't we just get like 5 votes for Peka-Boo.

Less votes than winners means less disappointement.

Honestly, I was surprised we had 6 winners. Not because I thought I there would be 10 but because I figured 5 at the most. Though I did have a little thinking there may be more because of a tie or something. I'm just glad it wasn't all eyes and lips. I didn't see any that wowed me.

I'm fine with what won. The only item that won I did like, the background, was more in the "eh, I think it looks neat but I'm not sure I'd actually buy it". The one thing I may buy is the bandage wig. I'd like the tea dress more if it didn't have that butt cloth/train on it.

I wanted all my votes to go to that shark, damn it! lmao

You can make makeup CWs that fit over existing Subeta eyes, but not the eyes themselves.

General Question: Can you make CW lipstick and submit it or no? I agree that a face item CW contest would be amazing. I'd love for that to be a thing, especially since you just can't submit them as CWs.

My problem with the contest is that several of the items submitted were just recolors of the same item. 2 of one eye set and 3 of another? That feels a little unfair to the other participants to just have the same item show up three times in the voting stage.

I too, thought there would be ten winners, but oh well.

Nope, you cannot make lips.

Also it was unfair in one way, as these people had more entries but if a lot of voters were just not interested in eyes, well they got less votes and didn't win.

Like I said, recolors hinder a lot more than they help. Most people are going to vote for their favorite color and for 9 other items, and as a result, when they submit three recolors of the same eyes, they divide their own votes and lose.

They chose some eye items! Yay!

...Pity that the three that they chose are practically identical and look like the 10,000 other generic 'evil eyes' on the site. Black irises =/= scary, people. That whole trope is so overdone and quite frankly just makes me think of Bleach.

Like I've said other places - the face items just had a lot of competition while the other items were pretty unanimous as winners. We're going to prevent that in the future by making categories and choosing winners from each one, instead of overall winners.
