It's a matter of opinion so what's the point of arguing anyway :P
I'm just sad that we didn't get any face items, they could have just gone with the most voted for item in the eyes/mouth category. Those are the only ones that can't be turned around and submitted to be a CW...
There were definitely enough options for the parlour to get equal items-- even if two more weren't "popular" enough overall it should have been done in a fashion of the highest votes per each place to release items.
I am really sad that none of the eyes made it (especially the Muse.. I thought for sure that'd make it .n.) and any other items i liked I'm sure will be released by the users. I'm not bent out of shape over who won instead of who didn't, I hardly have the same taste as most users so I'm kinda surprised two things I voted for won.
However I am very confused as to why we were to vote for 10 things but only 6 were released? Like if we could only vote on 5 items, then it would have been WAY more streamline as to what had the most votes because we'd have less votes to go around. Plus, I really assumed there'd be 10 items released... I bought 4 copies total, and I'm pretty much done.. I was expecting this to be a legit sink verses... yeah.
I mean how much sP is going to get sucked up with so few options anyways? Especially when two are in hearts :x
As an edit it said UP TO 10 votes. Of you read the voting comments there were plenty of people who didn't use all 10 votes.
You say the people who "should" have won but for all we know these 6 got votes from ~70% of users and the other 4 "winners" would have gotten votes from 30% of the people who voted or less. Unless we know exact numbers we can't just point fingers and say they deserved to win.
And for all we know with the peekaboo event the votes were more split. As well as what was the number of votable contest entries in this contest versus the other contest? There is more than one factor here.
Yeah I definitely would not have voted for some things I wasn't crazy for if I knew the eyes I really wanted wouldn't have made it. Six also seems like a weird number to me, I would have really preferred the top 10 to make it since we had 10 votes each
I think that 6 winners were enough. Honestly the quality of the items were so good we can't have them outshining the staff artists.
Honestly, I don't care of the next four items got twenty votes each, that is more votes than the other items below them. Items one and two got 50 votes, buuut, since item three only got 20 we aren't going to let them in. Nah.
Except not everybody even used all 10 votes. There were plenty of people on the voting comments saying they used 2 or 4 or 5. If there was a number of people who had those votes left over and still didn't bother throwing a vote in there you can't say they need to have 10 winners. Personally I voted for 10 items and I believe only 1 of my votes won. Its not like they claimed there would be 10 winners and it wasn't lime you had to vote for 10. It was 'if you find 10 you like you can vote for up to that many'. I believe part of it was to account for the recolors, honestly.
And user x and y only using two votes matters... ? Does that magically mean that only these six items got votes ? They needed to cut the number down because some users didn't feel like using all of their votes ?
Most users thought ten items would win, for multiple reasons. And if there were ties, the site has shown in the past they don't mind accommodating for that.
Anndd yeah I literally bought 2 copies of 2 items and was done. I mean I get my tastes are different than the majority however 90% of the news comments are from users saying "I didn't vote for any of this... oh well". So I dunno, I feel like having more diversity and 10 winners would probably appeal to more people and get them more interested in sP sinking and/or time spent on sP harvesting candy hearts.
But yeah well thought out and all that! especially since the early morning voting ended at around 2pm central time lol, I wish my mornings started then and not at 6am.
Overall glad to see this come back though. Hopefully next time the number of votes we're given = to the number of winners.
Because enough items didn't get a decent amount of votes by whatever the staff wanted them to get.
I believe it is detrimental to the economy to pour out about 200million if they only got '20' votes. Yeah I like seeing people win but as Subeta didn't have a 1st place 2nd place 3rd place kind of prize system in place that is a lot of SP just thrown into the system in an economy in desperate need of sinks. If they didn't get a large percentage of votes I adore them and all but I don't want then treated like winners for the sake of the overall economy
mind the participation prizes being put in the Cash Shop, I look at it as the prize being the person doesn't have to buy it or can sell it if they don't like it.
My issue is that during the Peka Boo contest, the site gave no indication prizes would be given for submitting items, then put all the prizes except for the sticker into the CS.
There are literally 7 copies on the SS the cheapest at 48 million, which is insane considering I could have sent in a stick figure and gotten it for free.
I'm glad they mentioned prizes this time, but I'm still bummed that the sticker wasn't reissued.
[S]I love beating dead horses.[/s]
I mean, I would love it if face items could be submitted but as a plan B or just a suggestion, I'd love to see any way for users to get face items submitted.
I'm happy with what made it (aside from more = better), but my tastes are really, really varied. I like the creepy/bloody/nasty things and sometimes the cutesy shit too, so
No. That is on them. They will learn and change things up, and as Keith has already commented on the sP going out was not an issue. They would still have gotten the votes that put them ahead of others, and deserved a win. I don't care if it were Cathii winning three times (I mean gosh damn, her wigs are amazing !). She'd deserve it. The sP argument was already held. Take it over there. Tell Keith off for offering it. Most users thought ten users would win. Most users voiced that they could easily have voted for more than ten, and slimming it down was hard enough. That is the argument, that is the issue, leave the other nonsense out of it.
For the record, I don't think the sP should have been awarded, but I also don't care that it was.
The sticker is the only item I wanted in the CS. IF ONLY WE ENTERED STICK FIGUREs ;-;
My stick figure would have been beautiful if only I had known.
I could sympathize with staff if the sticker had been awarded the time with all the warning we had, but that is literally not case. My collection is being penalized because I didn't waste staff's timew ith crap. P
"Most users" when it comes to a voicing if opinion it is statistically proven that people with a strong negative view on the subject will be more vocal. Meaning people who believed they had enough votes and were content will speak out less than people who wanted/wished for more. That doesn't mean "most users" believed it. You have no way of telling what the actual percent of users who felt that way are as the comments aren't an accurate representation of the whole.
You believed 10 would win you were never told 10 would win. Just because it was assumed doesn't mean the staff is automatically in the wrong for not fulfilling the assumptions. It doesn't mean there should be 10 winners whether the SP was an issue or not, whether there were 10 items with a large number of votes or not.
The staff should not have to make 10 winners because they gave you 10 votes regardless of what Peekaboo led you to believe. In fact if we followed Peekaboo logic 20 items would have won. It wasn't really comparable at all. I don't see anything wrong with staff's decision to pick 6 winners.
