I was definitely hoping that it was "ten votes = ten winners", because I feel like that would have been better for everyone? A couple more people get the prizes for winning, there's more items for the rest of us to sink money (or hearts, I guess) on, and it would probably mean that more people would have gotten at least one of their favourite items as a winner -- judging by the news post a lot of people didn't have a single one of their votes go to a winner, which is kind of disappointing.

On the front of evenly splitting them between Skitters and Louis: I don't think it's quite as huge a deal? It may have been better to separate them into categories and say "here are the Zombie Den entries, you get five votes" and "here are the L'Amour entries, another five votes", but some people don't like zombies at all and some people hate the sickly sweetness of the Parlour, so it may not have really worked out. But I'm not upset at all that more items went to the Den even if most of my own votes went to stuff that I assume would have been in the Parlour.

Finally, I really would have appreciated a heads-up that the participation stuff would have been up for sale after the contest. Again, it probably benefits us all, because tbh I'd rather spend a couple hundred CSC on an item I really love than waste my time and the staff's with my half-assed entries just to get a wearable goat that I will literally never use in an HA ever unless they make that into a contest. People who don't have the CSC to spend can still enter, of course, but I'd rather save myself the anxiety of having to let other people see my weak-ass drawings and drop the money if the item turned out to be something I actually wanted. Which, as I said, it wasn't. I DON'T GET THE OATMEAL HYPE, I'M SORRY. (I know the original news post hinted the prize would be Oatmeal-related, but I was worried it was going to be a plushie or a wearable that was so tangentially goaty that I might have used it anyway.)

Anywho, I still want to congratulate the winners on their lovely art. My criticisms are all for the way the contest was, rather than "who won" or anything.

I, like others, had expected 10 winners. I thought this mainly because of Keith's comment that 10 people winning wouldn't be a big deal from the SP prize point of view. I expected to spend a good amount of SP/Hearts on the winning items (again since I assumed there would be 10 winners from Keith's comment, I thought that this would be a huge sp sink to counter balance the 500mil coming in). Not too concerned over the uneven split between the shops, as most of my votes were items that would have fit in at the den and again I thought this would be more of an SP sink rather than one for event currency.

In any case the winning items are wonderful and congrats to the winners.

No you said most users. What I said was that plenty of users said they had enough and what I meant by that was that there was enough people posting that to say that there is a population of people who believe this statement. I never claimed that most users felt this way or even half. I said that there was plenty in the sample size to prove this population existed.

So, basically, you're allowed to argue that less winners = alright because a few people noted that they didn't use all of their votes. But I am not allowed to bring up that a fair few users voiced that there weren't enough voting slots. Alrighty.

I'm quite disappointed that there were only 6 winners...and the fact that the majority (4) went to Skitters' Shop. I rather pay hearts for the items than sP but it's not really fair that L'amours got only 2 items. Also unfair that we voted for 10 and there were only 6 winners. I guess I'm just a bit disappointed none of the items I voted for even won..:(

No what I was saying is that we don't know how many votes every item got and since not everyone used 10 votes we can't make the assumption that more than these 6 items got a huge number of votes. We also can't say that 10 votes meant 10 winners because the amount of votes was placed as an up to 10 and having people voice that they didn't use 10 votes means that people realized they didn't have to use 10 votes, that it wasn't a necessarily pick your 10 favorites because they could pick up to 10.

I said you can't claim "most users" without pointing out statistical biases that confound the results of a poll/survey. You can claim people believed they needed more than 10 votes and I will agree, but you can't claim most due to voluntary response bias. 2 different things

6 winners makes no sense to me and seems like the most random number ever, given that we were allowed 10 vote slots. Agreeing with most others, it should have been 10 winners. 👍

Considering how many finalists there were, only six winners is disappointing :c

I was also expecting 10 winners and was a but surprised when I only saw 6 in the news. Thankfully I voted for half the winners and like the other half so I'm not too bummed about it. But still, I really wish we'd get 4 more winners. This method of more votes than winners just doesn't really make sense to me.

The items that won were good, there's no denying that. I think it's just pretty much assumed that the majority of users were expecting a little more, including myself. Include me in the pool of people expecting 10 winners because of the 10 votes. All I can hope for is that the rest of the items that were fantastic be submitted as CWs.

Too bad that means we won't be getting those lovely eyes/mouths because you can't submit those...

I know. Hopefully whenever there's a new contest people will resubmit them. Some of them were really great and I voted for them.

edit: oh u can't submit eyes/mouth for cws? couldn't the artists make the art into makeup? i see a lot of makeup cw items.
